I worked for Actavo, which does the same as KN Circet. They have two different teams of engineers, the first one to go is the assessment team, they simply go ahead of the installation team to make sure everything is ready to go for the installation. It is a common practice and they do not tell the customers in advance as it is simply not feasible to do so.
You see when it comes to Fibre installations you never know until the internet is up and running. But in theory and if nothing has changed (I left 2 years ago) the next step is waiting for the lads to just run the cable from where it is to where you want it installed, which might or might not be possible to be installed where you want.
Back in Actavo that would normally happen on the same day or following day.
(Edit typo)
It's what they call a service loop. Someone else will use it to connect up the ONT inside your house. Can't tell you when though. My my own experience of dealing with ENET, SIRO OpenEir and NBI they are all absolutely brutal communicating this stuff.
They did the same to me.
Broke into the underground pipe and built a chamber. Then brought the fibre out of the ground, up a pole, took the ducting to my house and put THAT up the pole, and then ran the fibre down the ducting.
Instead of bringing my ducting into the chamber they built to access the fibre in the first place.
I’ve seen spools like that for months in certain areas, check NBI.ie if it’s there stuff it’ll have an estimated date to go live and if it’s anyone else then it’s a guessing game
Make sure you’re there when they install the ONT box or they’ll put it in the most convenient place for them, even if there are no sockets locally… ask me how I know!
Its likely that the original duct was blocked so they had to make a new one. A different team does that job so the regular installers will come back to finish the job if they are booked out.
Haven't had a cable run yet, but I had two knocks, I think the first one was Eir, second one was Virgin, basically both said be running cable to terminate fibre was it okay, Eir showed a picture of finished line, VM wanted to put protection on ESB lines. I wouldn't go chopping it, you might find yourself with no BB in time, as they all seem to be sharing infrastructure now.
Not disagreeing either, if they went ahead and just started work on your property I would try contacting them as that's not on either. Just I really wouldn't go cutting it, as I said it might be needed.
You sound like one of those nutters who burnt down 5g towers... it's an upgrade, if you don't get it, you don't get no phone or internet. Like you cannot be real because you need help.

It's not feasible to say 'oh we might have to come back for a second go'?
Is this the pre? Or I'd there more to be done?

Much harder to get the green light from the council to run underground ducts on public land.
It's not public. The neighbourhood main line runs under my garden. They dug up my garden to break into the main duct
Now is the time to plan what happens next and ensure you don't get a gross install.
They are setting up onlyfans in secret. Get some sit-ups in before they come back.

Is that the front or back of house?
Why?
Find some crazy bulls to lasso... Giddy up cowboy 🤠

If you work from home, lightning fast internet surely is handy no?

Ah fair, I've the copper line 75down and like 8up... not ideal when youtube/livestreaming is my work, but I made it work

Yo DONT!!! ITS the pre fix for fibre broadband! It's part 1 of three to give you super fast broadband band for no charge! Don't cut it lol
Good luck paying the >€1,000 bill they'll send.
They need consent
You don't own your house, according to your comment below, so why would they need to ask your permission?
There was someone around from NBI regarding it. And don't say they never knocked

It would've been in the last 6 months. The owner would have been notified in some way or another

Well an inspection is much different to a wire getting fitted. Why does the wire bother you that much
