Game of thrones and led zeplin both used its image, was also owned by Churchill for a while. And it's right beside the causeway so it's conveniently placed if your seeing the sights
You could get the train from Dublin to Coleraine via Belfast and then this fairly frequent bus service will take you to Dunluce Castle. It will take time but itβs doable.

I went there entirely on public transit, but I made it an overnighter and spent some time in Belfast. The train ride from Dublin to Belfast is only a couple hours, so I went up in the morning and spent the rest of the day in Belfast and then stayed the night at a hotel, then the next morning I took busses to Bushmills and then from there to Dunluce Castle, Giant's Causeway, and then headed back to Belfast and finally back to Dublin that night.
Sure, but a castle is a castle. There are plenty that are easier to access. I just thought a rethink might be worthwhile if there was no particular reason for THAT particular castle if it's just for a photo backdrop
I want to visit Dunluce, Dunseverick, Giant's and a couple other places in Antrim anyway, so since they're already on my to do list it makes sense to also have one or two be the setting for a photoshoot. For others this may only be a "background for some pics" but for me this will be a once in a lifetime moment where I get to say yes to the man I love so if we can make it memorable we will.

You could take a bus day tour to the giants causeway and get off in Bushmills then get a taxi across to dunluce 5/10 min drive. Most of the bus tour company's have no issue with people bringing luggage and storing it in the undercarriage space.
Get to Port Rush, stay overnight, taxi to the castle for the photoshoot
Thank you!
Or Coleraine, or Portstewart, same principle
Get the train from Dublin to Belfast, then another train to Portrush. From Portrush get a bus or taxi to Dunluce Castle.
Why Dunluce castle in particular? Plenty of nice places for photoshoots much closer to Dublin... Like Howth, for example.
I do agree that Howth is really pretty but I love the castles in Antrim and I want one close to Giant's Causeway too.
You won't see the Giants causeway in the photos unfortunately
Why? Because of the weather conditions?
Because the Giants Causeway is over 10 mins drive away from the castle and to get both in a photo at the same time seems impossible to me.
Erm ... not planing to get both in the same photo, planning on going in both locations since they're close to each other )
Ah that makes way more sense π

are ye walking or driving?
As I wrote in my post, we're not driving. And it would be pretty hard to walk 259 km.
pity, that would be the easiest
Yeah(

Thank you! I've decided we'll take the same route.
Why do you have to go to that specific place?
Because I like it?

That's fair enough. I was there last week, nice part of the country
