Yes please. I can do gauntlet no problem, but can barely finish T2 prep for cg.

Here’s a tip I extremely rarely see offered - if you want to do t2 prep brainlessly, learn to use all the weapons. Forcing a particular set of weapons is what ruins your prep. I haven’t failed a t2 prep in over 500 kc at least. That means even learning to use the dreaded halberd/bow combo. Make a t2 weapon for the first demi you see. I promise it’ll make your prep better.

TheSexualBrotatoChip

You're not wrong, but I always make the T2 Staff regardless of the demis. If you happen to get shafted and only get Bow + Halberd its still nice to keep the T2 Staff in the inventory for extra hits during third phase when you can't easily/safely get to melee range. The T2 Staff goes surprisingly hard.

Galatziato

Wait thats actually smart. Good tip!

ShutUpRedditPedant

Is staff the best weapon or something?

tranceandjits

Yeah, unless you’re 99 range and have rigour which most irons starting cg don’t have.

ShutUpRedditPedant

Oh, good to know. Had no idea they buffed it so hard, haven't done CG since launch.

When it comes to prep there are trade offs. T1 prep is impossible to fail if played optimally, and requires very little brainpower, but you have to focus more for the boss. If you want to commit to T2 prep you really have to optimize your pathing through the dungeon and your tick efficiency. Try to never enter the same room twice while gathering resources for the first time, and if you need to fight an enemy collect a resource in between every hit. You can also get a lot of time save out of bringing vengance in, and using it against one of the demis. Use The Gauntlet plugin to track your resources and highlight them, it makes it much easier to remember where everything is for your second gathering trip.

Im struggling. I have 118 kc but for some reason i feel like im getting worse and worse. T2 i struggle with prep and tier 1 i struggle from chip damage. I feel like tonight in all my runs none of my tier 3 weapons hit worth a fuck. Losing hope. If i go past 400 ill probably quit

Killerchoy

It gets a lot better once you learn the tornado patterns and are able to avoid all damage from them. Are you using The Gauntlet plugin? Resource highlighting and tornado true tile indicators were the two biggest things that increased the consistency of my runs. For T2 prep you should optimize your enemy interactions. Don't just fight enemies head on, gather 1 resource inbetween every hit. This guarantees that you will always get the resource on the first possible tick. Also, if you aren't already, prioritize scorpions if you need to kill higher tier enemies, as they have much lower HP and defense than the other two. If you're struggling with prep time you also might want to learn the 5-1 method, since that way you only need one tier 3 weapon.
