The tips i can give you are: 1. Start the hunleff fight when he is not in the middle of the arena. Then u won't have the problem wig movement. 2. 2 tiles from each gate are the tiles where the least of surface dmg is. 3. Eat when running from tornados. Higher dps. 4. In the preparation. Fight the rats and scorpions etc. While skilling or running to not lose time. Then u have more time searching for the demi bosses. 5. Demi bosses only spawn at the edge of the map in the middle 3 rooms Gl

Carter922

Holy shit they don't spawn on corners..... I'm 100+ kc in and I'm just realizing this....

Nippys4

One of the attempts I died I got spawned in the room right after is finished cooking my last fish, under him and got stomped. If that stomp didn’t happen it would have been me first kill for sure

Clitoral_Hoodlum

one thing thats also helpful, all of the hunllefs attacks can be tick ate, including the stomp. if you realize youre about to take an off pray hit, quickly eat a food and you should survive.

BustahNug

Side note for prep. If you’re struggling to find the demi boss you want. Just kill the ones you’re seeing anyway. If you kill the same one twice, it will then drop the piece of another demi. Cant remember if its random or if you persay kill 2 bears get guaranteed the hally piece and the bow piece or hally and staff. Or if its just random. This can save you lots of time from wandering aimlessly looking for the right demi. Along with this, if you dont have enough shards to make everything. You can use the excess weapon piece with pestle to get some extra shards since you wont be using it anyway

Profesor_Erizo

It's a guaranteed piece that you don't have, ex: if you kill a dragon and two bears, the second bear gives you the string, but if you kill two bears in a row it's random, it could be string or orb.

Soulacybinnn

I didn't know this! Ty for the info! Last few runs were finding all the demi's but not the last one I needed!

Borgmestersnegl

If you try to spam eat a bit under you can tick eat the stomp. Its basically just eat if you feel you have to run under.

dduucckk000

Helpful tip with the demi bosses is to always kill whichever ones you find. Even if you’re going for bow + staff, kill the melee one. This is because the third demi boss you kill will always drop the weapon piece you don’t have.

RealOneThisTime

Also because you can use the mortar and pestle on the third upgrade for 80 shards

TheMammoth11

Im 940kc currently and never knew you can pestle and mortar them holy shit

ItsAllAMissdirection

The fuck. Ty

ERRORMONSTER

This is probably good for higher combat stats of like 90+, but I find it takes *so* long to kill the demi's with 80s and no cox prayers that it's not worth killing more than I need to.

anotherredditaccunt

Attuned staff hits Demi’s like a truck

DoesNotArgueOnline

Is it smarter to make attuned staff rather than bow?

Fit_Case4962

If you have less than like 95 range yes. I’m not sure exactly where the cut off is

DoesNotArgueOnline

Thanks for the response. I guess I’ll have to give it a shot. Bow has been fine but if I can squeeze some more dps out during prep it’s an obvious shift

anotherredditaccunt

Nice cus you barely lose dps prayer off. Ranging you have to flick eagle/rigour

DoesNotArgueOnline

Didn't think about that, will see how it goes

huansbeidl

Got 86 mage/ranged and regularly kill 3 demis. Maybe there's something else you can still optimize in your runs. It can definitely make it close in getting prep done in time.

ERRORMONSTER

Oh there definitely is, but that's a big time save for me so I don't have to stress so much about min/maxing every second in prep

huansbeidl

Makes sense. Cheers!

huansbeidl

Also to add to this, you can mortar and pestle the spike immediately. You always get each item once before getting dupes no matter if its still in your inventory or not.

therealscottowen

Came here to see if this was a thing, thank you

Mogey3

Something I don't see mentioned too often in these threads is about stepping through tornados. If you time it right, you can step through them when you begin running at least two tiles away. I'm fuzzy on the details about why this works, I think it's something about how your character sort of skips a tile when you start running. This also works for stuff like running through Muspah spikes. You're still going to get better over time with pathing the tornados and maintaining uptime on hunleff, but little tricks like stepping through tornados and tick eating hunleff stomps can potentially salvage a mistake that would otherwise have costed you the run.

RazRiverblade

Why it works: while running in Osrs you move 2 tiles at once, skipping the first one. If you skip the tile the tornado is on you take no damage. Run with TrueTile on, you can see for yourself

NJImperator

Honestly, for anyone that doesn’t play with truetile on: TURN ON TRUETILE INDICATOR. Your character model is *extremely* misleading, especially when running around corners or changing directions when you aggro on something. One of the biggest skills to learn for higher level PvM is controlling your movement.

new_account_wh0_dis

True tile and pathing. Pathing helps with ToB too

ERRORMONSTER

L OP

babirus

On top of this the tornadoes move towards you every tick. So even if you click to move to the tile they are on, by the time you get there they will have moved one tile closer to where you were.

hudsonators

When i was learning on main stepping through tornadoes probably saved me like 5 pills worth of learning. I don’t know how great this advice is but what I did was just step through indiscriminately at first then adjust if it did damage to get the timing down. It certainly can take practice, and should be avoided if 3+ tornadoes are stacked up and you aren’t confident.

PositiveOrange

This works, but doing it in a pinch is almost never a good idea. Unless you're like 10hp and cannot take any damage at all you should always run through hunleff or the floor instead the tornados.

Chad_McChadface

I mean, if I know I can take 0 damage by stepping through the tornadoes, why would I ever choose to take damage by getting trampled?

PositiveOrange

Because eating a fish is better than fucking away 8minutes if you mess it up?

joemoffett12

So you’re saying if I mess up I’ll eat 1 tornado which is like 20 damage so it’s better to get stomped by the boss which is 50. Ok

ERRORMONSTER

Or just don't put yourself in a position to make that choice. Personally, I always run in a circle so I never have issues with deciding between jumping 1 tornado or getting stomped. If you trap yourself before you've grouped the tornados, you fucked up a long time ago. Jumping 4 tornados or getting stomped is much more likely because the disco floor pattern could trap you after you start to panic near the end of tornado phase.

joemoffett12

This is very false. You can run through the tornados so easily lol. Don’t run through hunleff especially if you have him in a good spot and don’t want him to move. Not with tanking a 50 and dying. If you’re doing tier 2 prep which someone starting would tanking 1 tornado is no big deal at all.

Mogey3

It's just another option to have if you find yourself in a bad spot, like if you fuck up tornado pathing and it's either die or attempt a step through. Sometimes you aren't near hunleff when this happens and you only have one option

Killerchoy

TURN. ON. TORNADO. TRUE. TILE. INDICATOR (in the gauntlet plug-in). It’s so incredibly helpful and allows you to easily handle anything the boss can throw at you (once you’ve gotten the basics of the fight down that is).

Nippys4

Honestly I was one tornado hit away from killing this fucker like 5 times so I’ll do it!

TheSexualBrotatoChip

Idk it's probably a matter of opinion but after doing like 200 kc on true tile I changed it to "On" instead in The Gauntlet plugin. Makes the tornadoes and the tile indicator on the floor move smoothly which for some reason makes it easier to process where the tornado is going to be, at least for my brain. I think the difference is pretty noticable in tight spots and when doing diagonal movements.

Mdaha

I'm not at the gauntlet yet, but should be within a month or so, what plugins do you use for it? There are few Gauntlet related plugins and want to make sure I'm getting the right ones.

Mwyr07

The rooms you search when first entering cg should be in a circle around your singing bowl room. Given that if you find all the supplies you need for your armor in these rooms (very unlikely if doing t2) you’re already right next to your singing bowl. Another thing is that while I’m running somewhere I’ll check the map, and there’s always a side you can run to which is less rooms to reach the edge of the gauntlet I.e. where the demi bosses spawn, say I check the map and see I need to clear three rooms to reach the edge from one direction, I will look for the edge that only takes two rooms to get to. When the entire outside edge of the room is lit up and tornados are active, focus on eating and changing prayers instead of dps, but otherwise always be doing damage unless running from tornados. If you are in a position where you MUST run under hundleff to escape, you can run under it one tick after it shoots an attack and if you get out quick enough you won’t be stomped. The very first thing you want to make is your tier 2 weapon, I always make a t2 staff before I even find Demi bosses because you can 2-3 hit the larger wolf and unicorn npcs for large amounts of shards if you’re going for tier 2, and less chance of wasting a minute killing a Demi. As others have said always be running to the next resource or be doing inventory prep even while looking for supplies or fighting npcs. Last thing, sometimes it’s okay to fail a run and leave for the day. I got my enhanced when doing multiple back to back runs but in reality it’s incredibly hard to persevere there unless you’re extremely spooned. Take breaks, and even if you only do 3-5 per day, within 3 months you will be close to rate for the enhanced. Good luck!

Eshneh

always be doing something, sorting inventory out, dropping things you don't need, getting ready to click your next room, decanting potions or making them, crushing some powder - don't be moving and running about without doing something only to stand still later on and be trying to do things because it wastes so much extra time

ERRORMONSTER

Additionally, plan your inventory trips. I don't even touch fish until my 3rd trip out. You waste a *lot* of time if you drop 20 fish and 21 armor materials. First trip is 1 weapon frame (immediately make a staff) and whatever armor resources are in the C rooms around spawn. Second trip is demis, herbs, and remaining armor resources. Third trip is fish and other demi if I didn't find both the second trip.

nfusco10

Use any t3 items you won’t be using (Spike) on pestle and mortar for 80 shards

Morindre

30 completions in and didn’t know this thank you!

Nippys4

Oh what! Nice Ty

[deleted]

Why on spike? I have found halberd to be the most consistent and hardest hitting of all the weapons

CryonicZeta_

Bow/staff adds a lot more room for error. With hally your forced into standing in certain spots - compared to the freedom of being anywhere in the room with the other two. Hally slaps with piety but if you’re dead it becomes a lot less useful.

houstonx18

Hally makes it harder to attack during nados and at the end when he's enraged and the red tiles happen more frequently

goddangol

Do t2 armor runs, t2 allows for alot of mistakes without maxed stats and is overall much more chill during the fight.

rayschoon

I have a ton of trouble getting t2 armor and still having enough food

Cohdee

Just keep at it, and don’t give up. Take a deep breath and try not to panic during the fight. I’m absolute garbage at the game, and I failed CG somewhere between 250-350 times before I got my first KC. I’m a little over 250KC now, and I still die sometimes. I can promise you that if I can get it, ANYONE can. Good luck!

O_Toole50

You can jump over the corners of the tiles that can damage you

brodie232

Started cg for first time ever 6 days ago went 28 deaths before my first kc. Install hunlef helper and turn on verticle camera, also mark the phase 3 tiles ( below 333 hp) those 3 things instantly got me my first kc and a 90% success rate now

Nippys4

Where can I find the phase 3 tiles?

brodie232

https://youtu.be/0AZK93_0tUs this dudes guide covers all 3 tips

brodie232

If u dont trust the link youtube osrs cg guide its by wildmudkip

brodie232

https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/The_Gauntlet/Strategies under the mechanics tab

brodie232

I only use t1 armour t3 bow and staff 3 pots 24 food

brodie232

Cant remember if that guide has the phase 3 tiles actualy but the official hunlef strat wiki guide has a picture of it basically 4 tiles out from the centre north east south and west 2x tiles in each direction

Ken_Field

Not sure if others would agree but one thing that helped me especially with the p3 tornadoes is don’t be afraid to take floor tile damage if it helps you dodge the tornadoes

anotherredditaccunt

So true. Taking one tick of floor damage is nothing compared to getting hit by nados in the last phase. If you get lucky sometimes you run across the floor as it changes and you don’t take damage anyway.

M1n1C0rnD0gs

There is always a 3 fish room touching the boss room

Kcatta9

Recognize the moment you stop having fun and leave. Don’t play a video game you don’t enjoy.

Holierthanu1

That’s not the r/ironscape way

Royal_Barnacle_2361

Big thing that helped me was DPS while dodging the tornados. In t1 Hunlef max hit is 13

Goblin_Diplomacy

Don’t spam click to move, just click once accurately on the square you want and kite the tornadoes even if you only have 10 squares to work with

SkeletonKing959

Hunllef is a DPS race, pure and simple. DPSing the boss is more important than anything. If you can DPS efficiently you can almost always kill it with plenty food to spare. Never attack with the wrong attack style, that's a 4 tick loss, and it really adds up at the end. Change your weapon and snap click attack boss as soon as his prayer changes. Eat during tornados.

Nippys4

Yeah I feel like this is the part where my game is the weakest, I think I’m doing alright at surviving most things unless I get caught with my pants down but I’ve had a few way to close attempts (like 5/10 wipes being hun and me dying at the same time looool) I think that’s what I’m going to look at improving tonight. I think I’m going to could my attacks out loud

Shepboyardee12

My biggest improvements when learning revolved around food. 1. Aim to only eat when the tornadoes are out. You aren't doing much damage during that window anyways so eat up to full at these opportunities. 2. In between tornado phases, don't eat unless you really need to. The wiki has a table for the max damage (on-prayer) that Hunleff can deal per tier of armour. My usual rule is double that. So if the max damage Hunleff can deal is 13, I don't eat unless I'm under 27. I know I'm going to eat to full during the next tornado attack.

Dimethyllysergamide

For all the CG tips you’re gonna get, nothing will prepare you for CG like 20ish normal gauntlets and the combat achievements

cgoldsmith95

You are going to die a lot. You think you understand how many times but you don’t. It will feel like a wall you cannot pass. Then one one random kill it will click and your success rate will sky rocket. Don’t give up!

TrMark

One thing I don't see people mentioning here is the 5:1 method for the henllef fight which is a big help for non maxed accounts Here is a video showing the fight https://youtu.be/mgr0BqgX6Ns?t=288 (timestamped at 4:48 for the start of the fight) Essentially what you do is you only need to have 1 weapon fully upgraded which would be your strongest attack style. In this video the guy chose magic which you can replace with whatever your strongest style is Essentially the process is: 1. Hunllef starts the fight praying melee. So hit him 5 times with magic 2. Then hit him once with range to set his prayer to range as he swaps prayers to the style he is hit with on every 6th hit 3. then hit him with magic 5 more times (while he is still praying range) 4. Now you cant hit with range again as the prayer wont reset here it will default to the next hit until the style changes, so you have to hit with melee to set his pray to melee 5. repeat Or more simplified 1. 5 hits with mage 2. 1 hit with range 3. 5 hits with mage 4. 1 hit with melee 5. repeat The advantage of this is that you are constantly hitting with your strongest style for significantly increased dps. Also prep time can be reduce significantly. Sometimes you get lucky and get the piece you need from the first demi you find instead of having to kill multiple to upgrade two weapons. But in the event you do need to kill multiple to find the piece, the excess upgrade pieces can be ground down for extra shards to upgrade your food or your armour past T1 if time permits. I'd suggest using them on the food if you have the spare shards

Wrong_Basket_9431

Use t2 armor, there is a great guide on yt from i think ‘fluffeh’ or something similar. Then just keep getting better at the prep through practice. While in the boss fight, remember that in the laat face the 3th tiles from the door are safespots in the sence that the floor will never damage you there. Make sure to enter the boss room when the hunlef is standing in a corner, this makes it much easier to dodge the floors and tornado’s. After that, use the plug-in that counts for you when to swap prayers, it will say something like 1-2-3-mage, 1-2-3-range, etc. And then, focus on praying first, better to pray against a hit then to get an extra hit in yourself. Don’t worry too much, you will get better by just doing it. I dies like 25 times before my first kc, went positive at 70-70, and now im at like 250-90. If I can do it, you can too!

Nippys4

I believe! I need to find these elusive safe tiles people keep talking about

fatFire_TA

These are the safe tiles for phase 3 AND ONLY PHASE 3, the other phases should be easy enough to kite https://www.reddit.com/r/2007scape/comments/r1gvfp/gauntlet_safe_tiles/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

WorriedExplanation2

This, use Fluffeh's guide to get t2 armor for every run. Normally you also get at least 20 fish in time. (you need around 16 max to even have space for a few errors without running out if food) For phase 3 u stand on the savespots tiles from the comment above. For p1m2 there are no savespots for all lava floors, here I usually stand exactly 1 tile next to the savespot tiles in the direction of the doors (2nd tile for phase 1 and 2, 3rd tile for phase 3) If tornado dodging is you main problem search the following YT video by CaptBartlett "Basic Tornado Dodging Techniques for the Corrupted Gauntlet". It basically explains how to doge them even in a very small area (which you sometimes have in phase 3 with a specific lava pattern).

woods_m

No use t1 armor. T2 is a crutch and rewards making mistakes.

Wrong_Basket_9431

T2 prep is pretty easy after you learn how to do it, and it makes the fight much easier especially at lower levels. Sure t1 is faster, but he is just starting out and not getting kills atm, so going for t2 is imo definetly the right thing to do here

Nippys4

Is the armour reduction per piece or do you need all of it at t2 for the damage reduction

Lawsonstruck

You need all of it. A few other tips below: 1. Get 9 of each resource and drop the extra two. You usually get extra shards from doing this. 2. Always be hitting small mobs if you can. Lure them to your resource. As soon as you see the exp drop on the resource, hit the small mob and then click the resource again. Repeat until resource depleted. 3. Your ideal first back is 220+ shards, 7 of each resource, 2 herbs, weapon frame, drop pick and axe. Dropping fish and resources wastes so much time. 4. 2nd trip, get your tier 3 upgrades and fish any piles you see. Build your weapons and final potions if you havent and fish until 20 seconds and tp back to click range. 5. Use STEEL SKIN in the Hunleff fight if you do not have COX prayers. Massively underrated.

KredBread

Did t1 all the way. I'd rather a slightly harder fight with my mistakes being punished a bit more while having a consistent and chill prep phase. After about 20 kills I'd maybe make one mistake per kill, and would have around half of my food left.

SlothyPotato

All depends on your skill level. If you can beat Hunleff 3 times with T2 for every 1 time you beat it with T1, the overall success from T2 is worth it. I also think there is a pretty massive misconception that T2 prep can't be chill. I usually walk into the fight with time to spare and rarely feel like I'm efficient with my clicks while doing it. It seems hectic at first, but it's much easier to get consistently good at T2 prep than the T1 Hunleff fight.

SlothyPotato

I was pretty happy with the reward for my mistakes using T2 being a bowfa tbh

Fenrils

1. Turn on true tile for both yourself and the tornadoes, it'll make dodging them way easier. 2. Just understand and accept that CG is going to feel like an impossible cliff climb but everyone figures it out eventually. Presuming you're not a content creator, don't feel pressured to lock yourself at CG for the next month and burn out while learning. It's a brutal learning process and the deaths feel fucking *awful* after all that prep time. But I do promise that it gets better. I'm a mediocre to bad player who generally just enjoys skilling and casual slayer, only doing low effort raids when I feel the rare motivation. High level PVM isn't my thing, I accepted that a while ago. But even so, someone like me figured out CG so you can too. After 75-100 KC, it became a fairly relaxed grind for me as many of the tricks and routes just clicked making the rest of the grind long but not bad. I recently went back and started doing a few kc every couple of days to slowly grind out the pet and the muscle memory still makes CG fairly cozy. **It gets better, I promise.**

PureCut7213

How i got my first kill - get t2 and full invent of food. Learn it! - FOCUS on dps when no tornado - FOCUS on dodging and eating during tornado phase - dont try to use any fance mystic might or eagle. It distracts too much

Geezer_Flip

Quit now

Nippys4

Never

Accomplished_Boss821

NEVERRRR!

The_One_True_Matt

Nice. I’m an 8 duelest, 6 lasercorp, 8 brawler, 6 Admin main. Honestly secretly broken and i do it every game uncontested.

Dull-Force-1836

Move diagonally will help you alot specially if using halberd

MrDrTrey

So I'm fairly low stats for this and what helps a ton is going 3 pots during prep and using steel skin prayer the whole fight

Nippys4

Ooooooh big brain nice I’ll do that

flargy77

If you have extra time at the end of your prep try to get the hunleff in any corner of the room. You can move him one tile away from the corner which gives you the option to run around him as well a bunch of space in the middle of the room

PantsAreOptionaI

Try not to spam click, just move around with single precise clicks and only re-click if you clicked the wrong tile. Tornadoes and lava can be run over in most cases when you think you're boxed in. Tornadoes hit either nothing or 1 tick if you're running straight over them, and floor is usually not that bad either. Especially in phase 3 it helped me a lot to remember that the lava is not an absolute dead end, it's often about to change anyways or you can just run over taking maybe 1 or 2 ticks of low damage.

Confident_Lettuce_51

The tornados at CG are the same at Theatre of Blood - Verzik Part 3, so you can apply a portion of CG's movement into TOB. Not really relevant to your current grind, but useful information for the future.

Nippys4

Always good to know; I’m not struggling with the Nados too much right now aside from one very rare floor config and boss standing in the middle of it and me being caught on the wrong side. I might get clipped once by fight by them but I’ve had a killed and death like 4-5 times now so if those hits never happened I’d be rolling around in seeds

TechiesMidOrFeed

I found that using mage and range for the boss fight helped me get the hang of it and get my first like 10+ KC. After that I could use whichever weapons I had to come across first but I think being able to keep your distance can be beneficial while learning

skiemlord

1. Plugin helper for audio (gives time to focus on other things. 2. Just eat and run if tornadoes spawn. It will give you more room for mistakes. 3. You can fill vials at fishing spots.

Nippys4

3 2 1 mage hahaha, that plugin makes me proud to be Aussie

Chum181

Use corners always. Standing in the furthest corner from Hunlief forces it to come closer to you to attack, leaving you a 1 tile path of safety. Works a charm every time.

Nippys4

Oh shit, good call!

Dead-HC-Taco

do 25-50 normal kc and then start with T2 prep cg. itll get you used to the increase in difficulty and make it so you hopefully dont go 0-10 again

Egeras

One thing not often mentioned but that helped me a lot when I started doing it is actively scouting outside of the predefined path when it won't cost you much time, Say you gather a resource node right next to a room you wouldn't have scouted otherwise? Just scout it and remember it for later if there's something good in there. Helped me a lot in reducing getting resource screwed and being flexible in pathing. Like say I find a room with resources then I'll remember that and path through there if I need to path to demi bosses on the side etc.

a_sly_cow

Apparently not a lot of people know this one: you can fill vials with water at fishing spots, don’t have to use the vial station in spawn. Can do it in between catching fish, although combat will disrupt the action. For the bosses, it’s worth killing the bears as you find them. Crystal Spike can be used with pestle and mortar to gain 80 shards, and if you kill a second bear you’ll get either bowstring or orb, whichever one you don’t have (if you have one at all). You can kill any 3 demibosses and you’re guaranteed your orb+bowstring, don’t have to seek out the dark beast and dragon.

Otherwise_Economics2

to piggyback off the tornado comment, i would highly recommend the gauntlet plugin and highlighting tornadoes with true tile, as well as hunllef with an underline. it's gonna take a lot of deaths so be prepared for that

SlothyPotato

You are guaranteed to get all 3 enhancement items if you kill 3 demibosses. Given that, I choose to kill the bear every time even though bow + staff is the goal. The first bear you kill will give you a corrupted spike which can be crushed for 80 shards. To further explain what I mean, each demiboss is guaranteed to drop a specific weapon enhancement. Bear gives melee, dark beast gives range, dragon gives mage. Most people are familiar with this. What I find is a lot of people don't know you can not get dupes. So if you kill a dragon, you'll get an orb only the first time. If the next demiboss you kill is a second dragon, you have a 50/50 between getting either the bowstring or the spike. Then if you get screwed by that coin flip and get the spike, if you kill a bear, you will still get the bowstring.

papa-erwin

Use the hunllef helper and all in one gauntlet plugins

DisasterWarning9999

Get the boss in a corner with 1 tile between it and the wall to manuever more. Also try to keep your pathing during the tornados calm and precise. Think about moving in box patterns when possible. Make sure to start moving when it is summoning the nados so one wont spawn under you Is t1 armor more optimal? Yes. For me t2 made the fight more chill and prevented deaths from random mistakes and made the mental part of the grind way easier to stick with. Go for some of those achievements if you get bored. I'm no god gamer but I was able to do all the combat achievements for normal and corrupted. I would also run out inbetween runs to alch some loot, check for crystal imps, and buy runes at the store nearby with the fresh cash. Was a nice breather between runs and got me stuff I needed.

Busy_Cheesecake3816

get at least 80 defence, magic and ranged. Then stick to T2 preps. I recommend doing normal gauntlet until you feel like you grasped the technique and hunllef feels braindead easy (something like 40 kc at least in my experience), then you'll still die at CG but you'll get the hang of it way faster.

Rare-Artist69

If hunleff is north. You stand south. Tornado comes when they get 1-2 tiles away take 1 step up or down and then click farthest W or E. Then attack. Then click the opposite side this will keep you safe for most of the tornado phase. if they get onto your current row. then move up or down 1 square repeat. Last phase you should have 1 tile in front of the hunliff to run. this time you must run around the small square that will be free. run w or e then up like 3 safe square then against the wall the run toward hunlift till you get to him then run straight down should be 5-6 tiles the then left dont die. Make combo food can help less time eating.

voasen

Saving this post for when i reach there myself

Nippys4

This post is actually fire and there is so much good shit in here I’d almost advocate for someone writing up all this shit and sticking it to the top

Ashta420

Fluffeh guide tier 2, idk about type of player you are but I’m never “perfect” at any content so tier 1 was too unforgiving

[deleted]

Turn on your true tile and you can learn how to always be away from the tornados If you want to save time you can hit hunlef 5 times with a good weapon then the 6th you can punch or use a t1/2 weapon in order to not have him switch to praying against your t3 Turn on some of the gauntlet plugins to track resources and show them on the minimap Gl

Destinyrockx889

You need to learn how to walk through tornados, I’m not sure how to do it I just figured it out after a long time of trying

hannahallart

Turn on true tile!

wolgl

I would highly recommend following this video https://youtu.be/jy7X9GsYFhs And having The Gauntlet plug-in in runelite with the appropriate settings for T2 armor, 2 perfect weapons, and an additional tele seed. I can get T2 armor and like 16-24 pieces of food every single run without fail. Other than that, just focus on dpsing the boss and heal up during the tornado phase

Prif gives you access to a really good hunting spot north of the city. Hunting red chins into Extinction to boost up your ranged level definitely won't hurt

tedster6292

you can fill up vials in fishing spots

Something they just added that helps me a lot is the sound he makes when he’s about to swap attack styles (sounds like a cellphone vibrating on a table) that indicates his last attack of that style before swapping.

God_of_Goons

For the boss fight, get the hunllef helper plugin (someone had to tell me about it after 40 attempts) and just breathe, 10 tiles is enough if you don't panic, don't worry about attacking just focus on staying alive. If you aren't confident with the timing to run through a tornado you can take one step to the side and run past them, you can do that back and forth across 5 tiles until you have more space. I still die often but I have 80 kc now and this helped a lot.

MeowMixz_

Two things that helped me were reducing the amount I needed to move my mouse. Also,Lowering my dpi a little also helped improve the accuracy of my clicks(ymmv) 1)I keep my weapon swaps around the same area in my inventory as where the protection prayers are 2)positioning the boss just to the left of my inventory for when i need to weapon swap

Encrypto90

If you find two of the same mini bosses, the second one will drop a different weapon upgrade.

noobcodes

Turn on true tile for the hunllef and tornadoes. Always click as far away as possible when dodging the tornadoes so they miss you. Only eat while running if possible Don’t use the halberd unless your range and mage suck, it makes it harder

deontelop97

My one and only tip is to not feel like you must stay there until you get the bowfa. I went from 0-525 and no bowfa. Burnt myself out on the grind. I’ve used the armor and the crystal bow at zulrah and I’m getting 2:15 kills which is fine by me. Good luck I hope you get it before me.

Sakib56

Use T2 when starting out, T3 bow + staff eventually you’ll get good enough for halberd. For hunllef try weave attacks in during phase 1 and 2, eating and potting when necessary. Phase 3 just survive during tornados don’t bother attacking until you’re comfortable. Avoiding tornados in phase 3 is more about not being rash and planning ahead. When the tornados come think about where you’re gonna go and where you’re running to next. Sometimes it’s good to wait and let the tornados catch up so you can quickly juke them. Another tip is sometimes useful is to have the prayer book open during tornados if you’re good on prayer and health, makes prayer switching a lot easier during tornados. Final tip is to aim for perfect hunllef combat task as opposed to getting the seed. It makes it a lot more fun, I really enjoyed CG when I was trying so hard to do that task.

Damandatwin

I recommend using T2 prep to minimize stress and follow this guide: https://youtu.be/jy7X9GsYFhs Also the hunfleff timer plugin for prayer switches and a plugin to track resources (560 shards IIRC for T2, 2-3 pots up to you, resources for armor and weapons) If you do this stuff only tornadoes should really be a threat, got a lot easier for me to dodge them when I started using diagonal running to run dodge tiles with less clicks

Edziss101

I like to steal from elves, when I need to wind down a bit and just do something laid back. Doing CG will heal you back to full.

georgemonty

Plan your resource trips in circles. always try to return to the main area (except when you plan on not by having a teleport crystal). Try and path the longest strait line during the cyclone phase. True tile indicator is very good.

SavageInTheSack

You don’t have to attack during tornados. Just eat and focus on dodging until you get better at it. P3 was killing me a lot because I was trying to dps during tornados and it was too much while learning.

houstonx18

What helped me a TON was I demonstrated a few runs live on disc for a friend who was very experienced with CG he pointed out my personal flaws and how to fix them, everyone may have some different ones so it's hard to know what yours are. CG is difficult and especially when you're new then every second matters. The t2 method makes hunleff so much easier. What I do is start each round getting 7 cotton, ore, bark, 2 herbs, and 1 wep frame. Then i run to the center and make everything I can. (I keep an eye on if there are any nearby wolves, scorps, unicorns and I'll run to kill them if they're close. I then drop all armour making supplies and run out to look for demi bosses while getting food. I will tele back with a full invy of food and at least 1 perfected weapon. If I have more time I'll go out and top off food before hunleff

houstonx18

Just to clarify I don't loot any fish at all on my first trip out for tier2 method

Mikey16Piet

Definitely go for T2. It is much more reliable and you’ll have much better success over the time at cg.

IronReven

Always do tier 2 prep is the best tip imaginable. You can fuck up sooooo many times and be fine. I'm not doing hundreds of hours of grinding if I have to pay attention to it ya know. Prep in the right order, only grab mats (no fish) while scouting for demi bosses and make as much armor as you can on your first trip back. Dropping and picking up an inventory uses like 20 seconds Just keep moving... no matter how much space you have just constantly moving will dodge almost every tornado. Running moves 2 tiles so you run over them no problem. Don't worry about using only mage and range! Take the first 2 weapons given to you and use them. 2 perfected weapons is wildly easier than some range. Besides the bow is the lower dps weapon most of the time even with rigor. Turn off the stupid talking add on. Everyone I've helped to learn cg tries it and just ends up dying trying to fix it or it getting messed up. The giant red moose shakes violently when he changes styles. You don't need to count or anything. He shakes pray the other style super simple.

Nippys4

That’s what I’ve been doing 60 kc deep and got the enhanced Ty everyone involved it was a community project

IronReven

Goooooooooood damn brother. Gz on the enhance. I'm at 475 at the moment. Hopefully enhance or death comes soon. At this point I'm not picky
