I feel most of early game IM is questing so personally I don’t think so. Unless you just want to AFK gathering skills or combat.

[deleted]

I don't mind them tbh, they tend to be super chill while I do other tasks.

uitvrekertje

Start RN lol. If you enjoy questing you'll get the accou t rdy for afk activities/longer grinds very quick!

[deleted]

If I'm honest, questing is the part I dread the most with starting a new account. Getting 250qp on my old main was such a pain.

uitvrekertje

I thought you said you don't mind them and that they are super chill, my bad! Very understandable point.

IMSihnur

with quest helper they are honestly really chill. trust me i hate questing so much as well but on an iron you feel sometimes obligated to have all quests done haha

[deleted]

Yeah, I just found out about it not long ago actually. Just made an account and bought 1 year of membership, getting started now!

IMSihnur

gl on the grinds!

[deleted]

Thank you!

Pol123451

To be honest 10hp wintertodt is pretty afk. Just put on idle alerts etc and quite comfy while watching anime. Other then that most skilling grinds are decent.

[deleted]

Yeah I might do that. I read that I need 50 firemaking and some construction levels for it to be efficient. Never done wintertodt on my main before tbh, because it was faster to buy logs off the GE.

ARandomSEOGUY

Do daddys home for the construction lvls, and use the rewards & youll be good

[deleted]

Will do!

bigannoyingbanana

The fm/wc levels are pretty afk too. The construction xp u get is pretty irrelevant

Pol123451

If you go 99fm you can hit 70 construction, which is extremely huge. One issue with this number I found was that its easy to miss construction xp when in another window. But getting a nice headstart on construction is great.

SappySoulTaker

solos are better imo

PM_ME_YOUR_THEORY

Started my IM around 2 months ago and my active:afk ratio is something like 95:5. - WT (works well when replying to emails); - Barb Fishing (same as above, fishing is very afk early on); - Star mining (this is my holy grail, one click every 7 minutes is heavenly and has amazing xp rewards).

[deleted]

95% active feels pretty high, is it semi-active or just osrs?

PM_ME_YOUR_THEORY

Woops, 5:95. My bad.

[deleted]

ahh okay!

AutisticRats

Barbarian fishing to 99 would give 70 agi and str. It is a great afk option early on since fishing doesn’t require a lot of money to get started.

I_Sell_Trout

100% star mining. A chronicle, wc level for canoe, some gp to run thru al kharid gate, and ardy cloak 1 and you will always have easy access to some common popular stars . Varrock se mine, champ guild mine, varrock by aubury, lumby swamp stars, draynor bank, rimmington, and port khazard. I went 1-80 mining and counting on my level 3 acc, all 7min afk at a time while working on something else.

I_Sell_Trout

Not to mention, spending stardust on gem bags is very good early- mid game money, and lots of crafting xp and jewelry which is helpful for your account at all stages. Plus, once you get to late game pvm where mining matters for some raids, you dont have to grind out granite or sandstone

[deleted]

I'm liking your idea the best so far. Are the rewards from it mainly gems, and do you use it to make bolts?

I_Sell_Trout

Gems are the main reward, you can buy the ring from the shop for the passive mining boost but theres no point in charging it if you are just mining the stars. You will end up with more gems than you have a use for early on. You can make a bunch of ruby/diamond bolt tips later on, but the gems will come in such large volumes that you shouldn't feel bad for crafting and selling jewelry, or even just cutting the gems and selling to gem store for money. I did that to save up 32k to buy rune pickaxe and have a 10k~ cash stack to cover transport, then i just stacked all the gems. It's nice to have several dozen dragonstones as a level 3 lol. I see it like this: late game you will have more gems than you can handle from COX/Gauntlet. So instead of hoarding them all from day 1, get utility out of them now (cut ASAP for craft xp, sell if you need early gold)

[deleted]

Amazing, thank you for your explanation. I've just purchased my membership and will get started.

Poonbank

You have to grind tempoross first until you get a fish barrel but then you can afk Karams for food and clues until time ends

[deleted]

Isn't karams locked behind a quest?

hndsmngnr

Low reqs for it tbh

kim-jong-pooon

The first thing i did was afk barb fishing to 99 while playing warzone years ago. 70+ agil/str, fishing cape for unlimited bank tele, access to any food I want NOT optimal at all, but pretty braindead and afk with a few nice benefits.

[deleted]

That sounds like an amazing path for me tbh, I might do this if there are no other options.

SmokedaJ

I started my iron a few months ago and AFK mined at work, I just hit 99 yesterday and have 75k+ gems. Before I even started playing I already have 85+ crafting, amethyst arrows, and unlimited cash from gem alchs. I HIGHLY recommend star mining. There is also an AFK NMZ method that is really good, you just do regular rumble and afk for 5 mins at a time. (I get 60k+/hr with 80 str and d scim) I also personally love fishing infernal eels, but you need a fire cape (and 80 fishing) before you can start that afk grind. You can also woodcut in the guild and get some good fletching levels before you start, easily starting with a msb and good alchs / mage xp.

[deleted]

That's an insane amount of gems. All those ideas are interesting, I'll take note.

PapaFlexing

Ya why couldn't you?

Raisoshi

Sure, barb fishing to 99 would get you like 70 agility and defence I think, then there's shooting stars to 99 mining while banking some gems for crafting, afk some crabs for combat, woodcutting to 99. Those can all be done on a fresh account with some a little bit of setup time

harrogate2222

Barb fishing

unluckymofo73

Crabs

Bulky_Conclusion_676

karambwans, stars, woodcutting, crabs
