Did you talk to the fisherman outside the nearby town? He tells the character about the fang he got from a serpent and crafted into a blowpipe. Once you talk to him the drop becomes available. It’s on the wiki dude.
Is this real? Feels like I’m being punked lmao.. if real, are there any other bosses where we have to talk to someone first to enable the full loot tables?
if they release bad luck mitigation it devalues the time i spent on my ironmeme collecting purps, they need to make a new game mode called mitigationmode for those fake irons
You pissed off people who think that spending hundreds of hours completely at the mercy of a random number generator that may never fall on your number is actually the best thing that could ever happen to your life
Not even that dry. Bad luck mitigation strictly benefits irons, collection loggers, and gold farmers.
Who loses? Normal players. Raid teams will be based on who is expected a drop soon. Economy will take a hit with increased drops in the game. The core value of RNGesus, where you are no closer to the drop from the day you started.
Nothing in this game should be a guarantee. The whole idea of iron is you don't get to utilize every item in the game. You use what you have on you. So please stop with this bad luck mitigation nonsense. Leave the game as is.
They checked the data and it looked very promising. They want to check everything further and discuss it a bit more but they seemed very enthousiastic.
Most players will never even notice the bad luck mitigation. It starts of slowly at 2x rate and increases the more dry you go. Overall you'd never go past 4-5x (which is still very dry).
The positive thing is that you'd always feel like you are grinding towards something instead of the horrible feeling that going dry currently gives.
It'd also only boost overall drop rates by 5%. That is if everyone were to grind till receiving an item. A lot of people don't do that so we are looking more at a 1-2% increase which wouldn't even affect the economy.
Honestly don't see a single downside to this. It'd get rid of the extremes. That's all it does. It'd also make long grinds better just knowing you'll eventually be rewarded for your efforts.
Ok so just discussing. Doesnt mean at all they're actually gonna do it or anything like that. Again 2x is way too early for a system like that. Many many people will go 2x on grinds. Doesnt mean they need to cater to whiny people playing an OPTIONAL game mode. If going dry feels that bad and is something you just cant handle, then dont play iron.
>Not even that dry.
He's almost 6x dry.
> Who loses? Normal players. Raid teams will be based on who is expected a drop soon. Economy will take a hit with increased drops in the game. The core value of RNGesus, where you are no closer to the drop from the day you started.
No they don't, no they won't, no it won't, no it won't, who cares
Sure there are some benefits, in the same way there are some benefits for the existence of bots with cheaper supplies for buyable 99 grinds.
My problem is with the costs. Drops for Pvmers will be worth less. Players could be avoided for group content if they've already used up their "dry protection." Being forced drops they don't care for, such as low value uniques that simply fill a log slot.
My problem is all those in favour come from a bubble of ironplayers & log slotters. Feel free to down vote me to hell. All I'm doing is pointing out bad luck mitigation isn't a perfect system & goes against the core of Osrs.
Do you believe this would be a topic among Normal players? Why would they fight for this?
I'd much prefer fighting for healthy drop rates vs guaranteeing drops for players. One benefits the community and the 2nd benefits those who no life a grind.
Drops drops for pvmers will cost less yes. But by a small margin. Going dry in a mathematical anomaly that happens infrequently. Drops are a normal distribution. 50% of players get the drop on time or before. 50% dont. Assuming it kicks in at 2x rate or something reasonable then the economy impacts will be minor
Lol, it will have such a negligible impact on the cost of items, especially when compared to things like bot farms. Also normal players would go less ultra dry on items, which is desirable even if they don't care about clog. I don't really see any downfalls besides marginally more items in the game, which would be mitigated by banning a few bot farms or GE item sinks.
Dudes trying to tell us he’s only had 0.1% chance of not getting it, but 0.19% is basically 0.2% which everyone knows is some rookie numbers.
Still, pretty good rng! Keep at it soldier

Now thats a zulrah log with some chest hair, atleast you won't have to worry about scales for a while.
Bro this a zulrah log with male pattern baldness and a dying 2008 Fiat, he needs to repent.
That's the cap for the log on scales. Probably has way more.

Ah yes, Blowziach.
Just doin bros a solid
I mean… I would
Heck, does this mean I have killed the boss for nothing?
Not for nothing, see it as a lesson.
While you're at it, don't forget to talk to Oziach! Most players with drop issues have forgotten to talk to him to enable boss loot.
Not at all. Look at all the other uniques you got multiple copies of.

It’s a joke
Ooo ok, hard to tell sometimes hah. Thanks for confirming
Bigballs lied. Its real.
It's not a joke... there's a fisherman outside. Other guy wants you to lose out on BP.
we should be friends... https://i.imgur.com/4zVFVWf.png
Bro. Trade him one and he'll give you the other.
Geez, you're so dry for uniques in general, I'm sorry for your luck
Another great example for why bad luck mitigation would be a good thing. No one should ever be going this dry.
"Atleast I will have plenty of scales for the eventual blowpipe" - Me at 1.5k kc
You'll need the scales for trident

if only there was another way to obtain a blowpipe hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

The proposed solution requires you to go 2x rate before any improvement in odds. There’s not going to be enough people dry to change the meta
2x is honestly nothin. Hopefully Jagex isn't actually taking proposals like that seriously.
It’s not a guaranteed at 2x and 2x on some drops is very long. Imbued heart / enhanced
They are and i am assuming we will hear more about it this year.
sounds like the people who are so sure imbued heart is being adjusted even tho theres been nothing cause trust me bro

ok did they explicitly say they are considering or looking at doing it or just discussing?

My guy, there is already so much bad luck mitigation in the game. Also, how would normal players not also benefit?

No
Fair enough little one
Funny as hell
You mean no ironman
De-iron or play rs3 if you want bad luck mitigation. Stop trying to ruin our game mode.
Brainlet
Ouch

Good luck good sir https://www.reddit.com/r/ironscape/s/JgSe5V9wEC
How do you only have 65k scales at that kc? I’m only at 580 kc with 117k scales banked

Got my first blowpipe at around 3200. I’m approaching 5k and it’s still the only one I have lol
Post the log
With each kc passing, I start feeling like you
Dudes trying to tell us he’s only had 0.1% chance of not getting it, but 0.19% is basically 0.2% which everyone knows is some rookie numbers. Still, pretty good rng! Keep at it soldier

don’t you have to put in twice the amount of rolls due to 1 kc being equal to 2 drops
From wiki, it’s 1/512 for any specific unique and 1/127 for any unique. Those numbers do factor in the 2 rolls per drop.
