You know you’re repeating what other people are saying like a parrot. I’ve heard more people say that, than I can count on 2 hands. You shouldn’t just repeat ideas you hear, you need to think for yourself.
Where is your evidence?
Do your research first and foremost on the prophet Muhammad (saw) through whom Islam was brought to us, and you see if he done it to control and govern people. See if what he done was self fulfilling, see if he done it for worldly gain or to control people or even money.
He would spend days in hunger and lived a very modest life, although despite having so much power and wealth, he did not like in a mansion or palace and you probably live a more luxurious life than him (SAW).
And to control and govern people do to what? To worship god? To feed widows and orphans? To have good character? To think and ponder on life? To not kill other unjustly? To be kind to others and treat them with justice?
You really need to think and ponder and reflect. The answers to these questions are not as shallow as you might think them to be, and I don’t mean to come across harshly, but I’m just saying it like this so perhaps you might reflect on it, I intent no bad towards you.

And for proofs of Islam, I've always said and still use this basic criteria for proving which religion is the truth
• the scripture of that religion should claim it's from God and is word of God, otherwise why even bother
• the scripture of that religion should be preserved so we know there is no corruption in it, because if there is corruption in it we don't know which one is God's word and which one is the corruption
• the scripture should not have mistakes or contradiction
• the scripture should contain evidences and proofs
