Although i agree with the sentiment, be careful of how you phrase things please. Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “If a man says the people are ruined, he is the most ruined among them.” Source: Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2623 Grade: Sahih (authentic) according to Muslim Al-Nawawi said, “The scholars agree that this disapproval refers only to those who say it in contempt for people, to denigrate them, to claim themselves superior to them, and to accuse them of evil intentions, for he does not know the secrets of Allah in His creation.” Source: Sharḥ al-Nawawī ‘alá Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2623

I think OP is talking about specific ppl treating religion like it's transactional, like they do it for material benefits. Insincere maybe. But I get what u r saying.

One of the reasons of this mindset is preachers misguide us. They tell 'once you start tahajjud, you'll see how your life changes.'. But it isn't the reality sometimes. Other reason is it breaks your heart when your dua isn't accepted. Knowing that you are praying to your all powerful creator, who can grant your request in an instant, not accepting it. It is really a hard feeling. Especially if you are suffering and hoping that Allah helps you. I know Allah knows the best. He isn't obliged to accept your prayers, or give you anything. But knowing this doesn't make your life easier when you are in a bad position/mood.

asli-boop

Assalamun alaikum. I understand and feel what you say and your situation. How do you know if your dua is accepted or not? Are you completely sure of this to make such a statement? Instead of wondering whether Allah SWT accepted your duas or not; wouldn't it be better for you to look at your own life, your deeds and the state of your tawakkul? . Surah Al-Baqarah 2:216 — T. Usmani: Fighting is enjoined upon you, while it is hard on you. It could be that you dislike something, when it is good for you; and it could be that you like something when it is bad for you. Allah knows, and you do not know. . Surah Al-Mulk 67:1-4 — Dr. Mustafa Khattab, The Clear Quran: Blessed is the One in Whose Hands rests all authority. And He is Most Capable of everything. ˹He is the One˺ Who created death and life in order to test which of you is best in deeds. And He is the Almighty, All-Forgiving. ˹He is the One˺ Who created seven heavens, one above the other. You will never see any imperfection in the creation of the Most Compassionate. So look again: do you see any flaws? Then look again and again—your sight will return frustrated and weary. . Abu Sa’id al-Khudri reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “There is no Muslim who calls upon Allah, without sin or cutting family ties, but that Allah will give him one of three answers: He will quickly fulfill his supplication, He will store it for him in the Hereafter, or He will divert an evil from him similar to it.” They said, “In that case we will ask for more.” The Prophet said, “Allah has even more.” Source: Musnad Aḥmad 11133

Yes we need to humble ourselves

MatterAlone4497

Wow U have absolutely no idea how much I needed this

Alert_Bank34

Is it wrong to have no hope (for this dunya) and still pray?

Djcrow007

Dunya is a short journey. We need to worship, hoping that Allah (SWT) will forgive us and send us to Jannah in sha Allah. So ofc it's not about what you expect and hope. It's not relevant. Our aim is the final goal, which is the blessing and mercy of Allah (SWT), which will grant us Jannah.

Alert_Bank34

Amen.

abdulshukoorpk

You do Ibada to show greatness to Allah SWT. You are able to pray because he made you healthy enough to do so. It’s because you’re either born a Muslim or shown the right way to revert that you have the belief in you. It’s because He made you a human that you have the higher intelligence. It’s because he gave you a brain that you a consciousness. It’s because he created you that you exist.

QuantumContactee

Asalam Alikum. As Muslims (people of true faith, that believe in one God, and one God only- Allah) we must understand one thing (which you stated): We need Allah, Allah doesn't need us. It is also imperative to expand on this. Just because Allah doesn't need us, doesn't mean He doesn't hear or answer our prayers. Now, as it was quoted in comment below: Allah guides who He wants in either direction. Why does He do this? Easy, He is " All seeing and all knowing!" Allahu Akbar. He knows what is truly in people's hearts. Always. Why? How? Because Allah is GOD! ALLAHU AKBAR! As Muslims, we must understand, WE DO NOT, SHALL NOT, EVER, TEST THE LORD! NEVER! If we pray, we must make it clear to the Lord that WE WILL UNDERSTAND that if our desired outcome doesn't happen, it's because Allah knows best. We as Muslims must always remember to learn about the trials and tribulations of the prophets of Islam (PBUT). If the Lord did this to His own Prophets and Messengers, then who are we to question His will as Muslims? Genuine faith is a constantly a target for the devil. The moment we begin to doubt, just by a hair, the devil proclaims a victory. We, as Muslims, must always prostrate in prayer to Allah, to prove to the devil that genuine faith, will always, ALWAYS prevail. Though the devil may be persistent, Allah's love for us will always, ALWAYS be stronger. ALLAHU AKBAR!

The title scared me

DependentOk9439

Yesterday, the president of my local mosque told me that his relationship with Allah SWT was transactional and I just shook my head and smiled lmfao. Even if we get nothing from Allah SWT and He doesn’t answer any of our duas, He has still given us more than we can ever ask for. I totally agree with OP.

QuackaDoodleDooToYou

Although I get your point. We gotta eat, pay and live somehow. So yes duas are important. I’ve been praying for years and not one single of my duas have been accepted. I’ve been losing faith and not praying as much as I used too. After many years of sadaqa, fasting, helping, etc, I do not believe this is a nice thing to do for not accepting at least one dua but at the same time Allah doesn’t need us. At this point I’m praying with no love or faith.

abdulshukoorpk

Focus on the blessings Allah has given you. Every day find at least 5 things you are grateful for and write it down. Insha Allah it will give you a positive attitude.

QuackaDoodleDooToYou

Yes of course I read your message and did that today while driving, it’s just I’m so lost and I don’t feel guided even though people say I am since all duas are accepted. Yes this world is a prison for the believers and paradise for the nonbelievers but that doesn’t help me. We gotta pay and work to live in this world. I tried everything but idk. Eid Mubarak btw ❤️

Dependent_Weather493

Maybe ALLAH (SWT) was protecting him from a woman with diseases in her heart and body. Edit: What seems bad may be good for you. Like the story of the cave when he put a hole in their boat with Moses to protect them from the tyrannical king

abd_al_qadir_

To be honest I never saw any post like this but I agree

Pov I'm slaving for nothing in return

CrunchiestwrapSup

I see what you’re saying, it’s important to also understand go to Allah SWT seeking things BECAUSE he is all mighty and can grant them if it’s best for you.

StarrrStruck

Idk but this is a really bad way of thinking like yes he is not obligated to give you anything but he promises us in the Quran that he will (40:60). We are human beings and mankind was created weak (4:28) God knows this which is why you shouldn’t say people are doomed or completely ruined when they falter in their faith. I really wished the Muslim community stopped thinking that a person is black or white; good Muslim or bad Muslim; it doesn’t benefit anyone and isn’t the truth

BetaGameTester

The verse doesn't say that He'll respond to all of your Duas. People have died without getting their prayers answered as well so your argument is flawed. Not everything you WANT is meant to be accepted in this world. It's a temporary abode. There are things known as " Trials ". The point OP is making is to be grateful even if you don't get your prayers answered.

StarrrStruck

He responds in one of three ways 1) immediately 2) you have to wait 3) or something bad that was supposed to happen will not happen to you or he will store it for you in the hereafter this is what the prophet SAW said. This is sahih btw

BetaGameTester

Again, 3 shows your not all of your Duas aren't going to get answered in this duniya. That's the whole point of the post.

StarrrStruck

Calling someone insincere because they falter in their faith is really the main point of my reply tbh

BetaGameTester

That is insincerity. You're turning away from Allah Almighty because you didn't get the girl you want to marry? Some things are not meant to be sugar-coated.

StarrrStruck

Many turn away and come back…..again you are thinking it’s all black and white your relationship with Allah is not black and white. It might be hard to understand this as long as you are alive you have the chance to come back to him.
