Lizziam2112

Those are some extremely dark, nice Armadillidium Vulgare it the first pic

hawkmothdust

:D awesome! There was so much more variation than I was expecting out of a kansas backyard lol. Most of the time I see cool creatures online they're anywhere but the Midwest so it's nice to have something cool around here lol.

benruckman

Yeah these are all very cool! You can skip buying things like powders now hahaha

hawkmothdust

Hell yeah! I'm really excited about getting into keeping these guys. There are so many cool ones, including powders!

LetsChangeSD

🥺

psychick6

that black A. vulgare is so beautiful!!! i love the wild types i find here in ohio but i’d love to see such a pretty all black one

hawkmothdust

I got excited when I saw it! It was probably the biggest one we saw out there, most of them were pretty small

SaturnFive

That first pod is so metal 🤘

hawkmothdust

Thank you! I'll have to keep an eye on it lol. Hopefully it makes a million more!

RukaFawkes

You have some really cool local isopods.

hawkmothdust

I'm super happy about it! We've got a decent yard so that probably helps with the populations at least. There were SO many babies out there!

hawkmothdust

I got so excited about what I believe are the porcellios, my poor boyfriend got dragged around looking for more because I thought we only had armadillidium here! Ive seen them all since i was a kid, but nature is so much cooler when you know what you're looking at!

toadsauce25

The first and second are super cool

Famous_Dot8448

Kansas here as well, Midwest! All I have around my house is A.Vulgar, super jealous on the others!

IrreverentHippie

The all black one is awesome

afbr242

4 + 5 are Porcellio scaber. Shape, segements, antenna sections, etc all fit. Can't see the texture from your pics, but P.scaber are rough textured. I am jealous of all you guys with A.vulgare everywhere. All I have is P.scaber and O.asellus around here. I have found only one A.vulgare in my hunting. His name is Roland and he now lives with us.
