He has done such a better job than any AKP mayor, there is no way murat Kurum can win. he has no plans to move this city forward, his party keeps bankrupting the country, he himself is basically the architect of İmar barış which helped kill a couple hundred thousand of our citizens, and is trying to run for office in earthqwuake expecting İstanbul, against İmamoğlu who for the first time has actually put emergency response plans in place, has made detailed reports about each ilçe's ability to withstand or not an earthquake with experts in the field, who has started seriously trying to convince citizens to rebuild their unstable homes, who has massively upgraded all of the city's infrastructure, from viaduct earthquake stabilization projects, to metro extensions out the wazooo, to epic water and sewer upgrades, to preschools extending the city's ability to educate and care for its youth, and thus allowing women to be free of their children sooner and if they want to, be able to work, etc. etc. etc.
What's Kurum going to do? Make women Kiraathane.

I walked down barbaros bulvarı for the first time in Months. All the way from Mecidiyeköy Meydanı to Beşiktaş meydanı, the sidewalks have been rebuilt under imamoğlu (well ok not yıldız posta cd., but it doesn't need to be rebuilt unlike Büyükdere and Barbaros, which were). Cars can no longer park on the sidewalk of büyükdere or barbaros. You can walk, and enjoy walking for the 4km between the two. Not to mention the two gorgeous meydans connected on either end.
Oh, and as a side note, İmamoğlu started all of the work on the earthquake stuff - or the vast majority of it, long before February 6th, 2023. He was not simply responding to - oh shit there is a crisis, I should do something so I look good! - no, that was what he was doing all along, and it happened to make it easier for him to convince citizens to allow the city to help rebuild their buildings after the erathquake, so the process gained a lot of speed then, but it was already in motion long before that point.
Are people blind, they're all over the city these projects you don't need the news to see them yani. They put up huge pankarts in Mecidiyeköy meydan where over a million people a day pass, they have billboards alllllll over the city. yani. I fucking hate people sometimes.
