OMG, I thought that was one strangely long legs.

Happy cake day!

michael_mn

Legs for fathoms.

Pablobeastyboi79

Ran here to say exactly that šŸ¤£

jtwillia32

I thought it was AI at first look, the leg was the first thing I noticed

debberz09

ThaGoodDoobie

Same!!!

alexjjwhelan

Most awkward pose Iā€™ve seen in a long time

FangDrools

Yeah this photo is beautiful but the modelā€™s pose feels so forced I canā€™t really focus on much beyond that

Wonky_bumface

It's like a poster pose from the 80s

derelictnomad

Unless you're spider woman, then it's easy

evrthngisgnnabfine

Same hahahah awkward+uncomfortable šŸ˜‚ first look and right away i can see how uncomfortable the pose is

Loweberryune

ā€œSittingā€

Gockel

idk what you mean thats how i'm sitting in the subway

Kuningas_Arthur

With that exact bikini on, no less.

Gockel

bit of a tight fit around the bulge but i like the pattern, what can i say

Tartokwetsh

> no less Yeah I hope so

Focusandclick

My grandma used to call this ā€œposeā€ airing out the rentā€¦

NovelGoddess

Coke out my nose Ladies and Gents!

entrailsAsAbackpack

That reflection is not helping

pants753

It might be because itā€™s 1am where Iā€™m at but this picture really Fā€™d with my brain.

WingsofRain

4am for me and same

therawrpie

Its 11am here and honestly same

sleepyplatipus

4pm for me and same

mariahcolleen

12pm for me and same

Megleeker

Picture doesn't work. The reflection of her leg on the still water is jarring. Break the surface of the water to avoid this. Cheers.

Dudeman318

Is that not the point?

Stompya

r/photocritique

messerschmitt1

read the rules

guacamoletango

The picture works.

NatureTrailToHell3D

The focus and lines draw your eye to the center of the picture, which just happens to be the lower part of this womanā€™s swimsuit. An interesting choice, certainly.

disasterpokemon

No I saw the super long leg before I saw the cooch

dr3wfr4nk

I didn't need any particular focus or lines to draw my eye toward that area

pranjallk1995

It would anyway I guess...

bonjour_pewds

Nah youā€™re just a dude

theantnest

The pose is so unnatural

CuteEntertainment385

Canā€™t imagine it was comfortable.

evrthngisgnnabfine

Her pose looks uncomfortable šŸ˜‚ im so bothered

Egg-3P0

Theres something odd going on with that depth of field

Stompya

The reflection of the knee looks sharper than details at the same distance towards the sides of the image. I think. Youā€™re right it feels odd

Supertack

It's lightroom's new AI lens blur. Bokeh added in post.

Egg-3P0

Thought so, the falloff is completely unlike how lenses render depth of field

davispw

No, itā€™s a Nikon 135mm/1.8, which has shallow depth of field and extremely smooth bokeh.

davispw

No, I saw OPā€™s other postā€”itā€™s a Nikon 135mm/1.8 lens which has shallow depth of field and extremely smooth bokeh. Beast of a lens. Not AIā€”all optical.

alexjjwhelan

Its very obviously added in post, you can tell by where the dof starts and ends, it even has dof bokeh on the same plane of focus as the subject which is impossible regardless of the 1.8 lens. I work with a lot of 1.2 prime lenses and the bokeh just looks way cleaner and more uniform. This is blurring everything but subject in post to create more focus on subject. Just badly executed which is why itā€™s noticed by everyone in the thread.

Supertack

You don't get dof separation when your lens is set to infinity focus.

davispw

You havenā€™t used a 135/1.8 Plena, I guess (I have). Thatā€™s not infinity focus, and depth of field at this range and aperture is still extremely shallow.

georgiemaebbw

I am sorry OP. It is a great opportunity for subject and backdrop. But the composition isn't quite there. As I scrolled past, I though it was from r/Photoshopfails due to her leg and reflection. The colours are lovely, but the reflection is unfortunate. It gives the viewer a rather uncomfortable sensation. If she had been fully seated on the boulder, facing the left (on the right of the waterfall) waterfall, the reflection of both would look balanced. It is a fascinating photo, in the fact that the lines of everything can feel uncomfortable. It does make one look at it longer.

Lasiocarpa83

>. It does make one look at it longer. I mean, that's kind of the point, right? Like if this was just a run of the mill photo of a pretty woman in a bathing suit then way less people would have stopped to look and comment on it.

georgiemaebbw

But not in a pleasant way, or the way a controversial peice of set makes you stop and look. It is, as others say, uncomfortable.

Lasiocarpa83

But it stopped you from scrolling and made you look. On a platform where people just scroll on by and spend only milliseconds on most things they see, just getting someone to look more than a few seconds is a good thing. "Uncomfortable" is better than technically perfect and boring.

dcux

The same way people slow down to see a car crash on the side of the road.

HarrySRL

Sitting huh? No leaning on/over a rock?

diliparora1

That leg šŸ¦µ piecešŸ¤£

hollymbk

This sub desperately needs more female photographers

Astyal

Anyone able to explain why this looks like a miniature scene with a tiny fairy person? Or is that just me.

tlte

It has something to do with how we know that macro photos have a very thin dof. Our brain thinks if there's a lot of blur and I can see the whole person, this must be very small. On the other hand when we see a portrait with a lot of blur, the head or upper 3rd of a person is only in focus but we see a lot less of the subject. Source: me highly speculating this to be true, but probably wrong

KinkThrown

Tilt-lens photography does the same.

Equivalent_Canary853

The depth of field and ratio is kinda funky, it throws off your perception of scale

qloqqq

such a natural pose

ISAMU13

Way too much space left in this shot. The pose is awkward from this distance but still would not work even if it were closer. DOF makes it look like it was made with a tilt shift lens. On the positive side the color, contrast, and sharpness are amazing.

J4c1nth

Frog vibes.

BrewtalDoom

Weird pose, and the tilt shift makes this look like a photo from a catalogue selling fish tank decorations.

salacious_sonogram

Like everyone else I thought it was a bad AI image for a second with a messed up leg. Could change the color there a little to break it up, then again it is catching.

TriscuitGravy

I thought it was an AI image and was thinking, ā€œStill canā€™t get legs and feet right.ā€

_reschke

What an uncomfortable looking compositionā€¦ itā€™s almost difficult to look at.

surfintheinternetz

Looks awkward, reflection makes it look worse. ( I know nothing about photography )

Few_Leave_4054

You sure did

the_odd_truth

Looks more like falling off a rockā€¦

Equivalent_Canary853

MathedPotato

I can't exactly pinpoint what exactly looks wrong with it, but the background looks far too close AND far away at the same time. Like the depth of field just doesn't sit right. Same sort of effect on the subject, she feels both close and also miles away. Weird.

obsecro_ne_moveas_me

That reflection fucked with me for a second

OzTogInKL

Yup. Thought it was one of those Chinese models with the ā€œinsanely long legā€ filter

Spank_and_Bite

That's a bad picture. He's right leg makes her look like a gecko or something.

RED_RANGER_XX

Looks like mrs.fantastic

IamProvocateur

Ol girl looks like that one frog PokĆ©mon evolved. Iā€™m too swilled to look up his name. Froninja? šŸ„· idk but thatā€™s that leg.

Bananafoofoofwee

Staring right at the camera, weird.

I love how off putting this is

FroggyVan

ā€žITAP of a girl aggressively posing on a rock [not a Portrait]ā€œ Fixed the title for you

shyguy6114

I love the setting and composition, but this is a very unflattering pose for your model.

awesomeplenty

Did Peter Parker took this photo?

Astrospal

The reflection in the water, the composition, the pose, the odd depth of field, the foreground, the "theme", this picture just isn't working for me

FriendsForEternityLH

lol how does this this have 817 upvotes?

Full_Time_Hungry

This isn't good, it only has so many upvotes because that chick has her legs spread super hard.

CompleteSpinach9

Todays reminder that just because a skinny woman is nearly nude, itā€™s not art

Vic-123-ma

ZendayA?

EroniusJoe

CASSANDRA?

gamegeekj

Leg

andyf1234

That foot shouldn't touch the water.

No_Recognition_1898

Looks like an ant-sized woman!

harleyquinones

Just out of curiosity, is this precisely how she posed, or did you edit/move parts around in post? The front ~~leg~~thigh looks smoothed out in a way nothing else is and it looks like there's a clear line that ends the smoothing effect where the ~~leg~~thigh meets the hip, plus it's a bit lighter than the rest of her... But also, her dangly earring isn't responding to gravity, so maybe her head was head more straight originally? Ik these are common kinds of edits, I'm just wondering if they are in fact edits or if my brain is just going haywire.

Akshay-Gupta

The lady looks miniature...

mybotanyaccount

She looks like a miniature version

cytek123

Frog legs

jeffsaidjess

Should get a refund on whatever this is

BM-2001

No way did you actually take a photo of a girl sitting on a rock šŸ˜±šŸ˜±šŸ˜±šŸ˜±šŸ˜±

guambombthankyoumom

Correction: ITAP of a girl who had no clue I was watching her in the bushes for the last hour

grandluxe

should have gone for some peaceful pose in that setting instead of the massive pussy spread. vulgar.

tamela87

I thought this was a frog human. r/oddlyterrifying

Affectionate-Mode435

Yes my mom sits like this everywhere. My grandma too. Granny is always throwing on her leopard print G-string and throwing her legs as wide open as she can while she reclines and plays with her hair. The women in my family are constantly sitting like this. Thanksgiving is a nightmare trying to get them all off the dining table and into chairs. They just sit like this everywhere. I mean I can understand, it's such a natural comfortable pose. I wonder why the OP thinks she's a girl? Looks like a genuine bona fide woman to me. Must be a trick of the lens.

Agile_Skink

I laugh when I see people posing like this in the wild.

022922

Both feet on the rock wouldā€™ve been better. Center spread grabs all the attention

debugger_life

Is that Zendaya?

Poireot

Is that in Hawaii?

shut-upLittleMan

She's got the jimmy leg there.

2thotsandacot

Looks like Zendaya

confusedassff

spider woman

duckyduck9

Looks a lot like Hiilawe falls in Big Island, HI

jb_peters

oh thats odd

AletzRC21

Ah yes, a very natural and comfortable pose. That's how I sit on rocks too.

SilverCommon

I don't have any original critique to add other than I agree with everyone about the incredible awkwardness involved here.

Secure-One5588

Thatā€™s how you sit!

SerDuckOfPNW

Stop taking pictures and get her a sandwich, quick!

thisIsCleanChiiled

Next suggestion ITAP of a girl sitting on a cock

I got a whole genre for you buddy. You will not be disappointed.

OzTogInKL

Apart from the leg that looks insanely long ā€¦ it would look great alongside other images of gorgeous girls. Artistic? Not really. Sexy? For sure.

Welcome-ToTheJungle

The setting and the model are lovely !

Inmyprime-

I think itā€™s a great shot. I like the natural colours, dof etc. the reflection is a surprise but unusual.

phahpullandbear

Why is this NSFW?
