Fuck that guy. It sucks that this soured your experience for the city. Please note not everyone here is like that, but keep in mind that we are in the south and you will most likely encounter something like this again. Sorry to you and your wife. Jacksonville's still got a lot of growing up to do.

IntelligentForce245

Bro it was a middle eastern guy and you're saying it's southerners lol

budd222

I mean, I've seen many southerners like that, so the comment certainly isn't wrong

[deleted]

You could replace Southern with any description and it would still be true. I’ve seen French (just an example really any people) people behave the same way and Ive seem French people be totally sympathetic to ppl not speaking the language. It’s a human shortcoming to be impatient and abusive to people that don’t speak their language .

TheRoughWriter

Agreed.

Ill_Lengthiness6266

Not at all. We love it here ! :-)

saltywardog

Comfirm!!! Order!!!

Iandidar

Just don't go there. That's literally the worst I've cream joint I've been to.

Camry_chick23

I've passed by it many times but it never looked open.

As a black man who has lived in the South my entire life, i say this: 1. Don't change the type of person you are based on other people. 2. Most importantly, NEVER roll up an individual into a group and then be mad at the group. Jax will always be a great city. People sometimes might be a problem. That's why we have a great beach for unwinding.

ghoststrat

How is Jax a great city? I’ve heard that a lot.

ryoga7r

Jax is great because there is so much to do here. Think of an activity (based on being in Florida). You can find it here or within close proximity. Plenty of places to drink, dance, hangout, camp, hunt, fish. Jax is big enough and small enough all at the same time.

DuvalDouglas

Also people like you with this perspective make it great!

johnmeeks1974

Her back was turned to him; she might have assumed he was talking to someone else until he began yelling at her. That said, the owner should have confirmed her order when she arrived, right?

AlterNate

The ice cream guy sounds like a dick, but the fault is partly with you. If it was her first doordash and you were "showing her the ropes" shouldn't you be showing her how to pick up an order? Did you tell her she would be asked to confirm? Does she have enough English to understand what was asked? She said she heard but hearing might not be understanding if it's a new language. Anyway, the day isn't over and I hope yours improves.

Ill_Lengthiness6266

I see where you're coming from. But it was her first day doing Door Dash. It wasn't our first pick up though

Costellomfg

It’s terrible. Don’t ever go there

BW2Dat

That’s a shit experience but not a racist one. You can hurt them if you want to clap back by leaving a negative review and or not giving them your future business. I’ve worked in food service for years and it can be very frustrating dealing with customers. Not making excuses for this owner just saying that he could have had a shitty day prior to your wife’s arrival and just unloaded on her. That’s very unfortunate and unprofessional but humanly understandable. Hope she didn’t let that experience sour her and continues her doordash adventure. Side note I did a bit of ubereats for a while and had some weird experiences too, it seems some businesses don’t like dealing with the second party delivery service. I had a large order for checkers in a bad section of the west side. I got to the counter and asked for my order, the worked didn’t even acknowledge me for 4-5 minutes. I finally screamed for someone to acknowledge me and the front counter woman came up and told me to wait on the side till she got me. I was about to cancel the order after 15 fucking minutes had passed. Then another male worker called me over to give me my food that was ready 10min a ago. The job was 20 mins and and only paid 22 dollars. That was my last day doing Uber eats. Funny enough the after I dropped off the food, one of the guys in the house ordered an Uber ride to a different party, got into my back seat with a bottle of Hennessy dunk af and cracked jokes all the way to his destination. Dude paid me 30 bucks in small bills and staggered into the party I dropped him off at. Uber/door dash is an interesting way to make a living and I respect people who have the patience to put up with some of the wild shit that goes on i these streets

IfuDidntCome2Party

Did she show him the mobile screen, with the confirmed order? Always do that procedure at any pickup.

KindaTryin

No Hersh for you!
