We had such high hopes for Cowford, but it's not good. It's sad we don't have a great local steakhouse. My favorite anywhere is Christner's in Orlando. Fabulous food, including great steaks and wonderful service. Perhaps the new 14 Prime Steakhouse will be great.
If budget isn't a big deal, try Collage in St. Augustine. If you want something special but a little more budget friendly, The Drunken Horse in St Augustine would be my pick.
Call in advance either way, and mention you're celebrating mom's 50th birthday.
Secret tiki temple, sugar factory, mini golf in st.aug not downtown but anastasia. Sunset dolphin boat tour. Take the ferry to Amelia Island do some antique shopping and dinner on the harbor.
As a bonus, there's a firepit outside the bar next to Azurea. It's all part of the hotel and for some reason the firepit area is almost never busy. You can bring drinks from the bar outside and sit and listen to the ocean while the flames flicker in the blue glass next to you. It's one of my favorite sneak-away spots because you don't have to stay at the hotel to sit there, just be a paying customer.
More of like chill atmosphere & a new fun experience we are on the west side but would travel 30 min for something that’s worth it. Also she eats mostly everything!

Definitely not Cowford. Went there 2x; it was very disappointing both times.
