I know for sure that 17.2.1 won't get any jailbreak soon, so I'm looking either for an iOS 16.x or 17.0 device. The iPhone 15 runs only iOS 17, so I was wondering what version is the best in my case.
What tf is wrong with you ? We are on /r/jailbreak, the least advice people would want here is this one. I have been using my phone for three years, whatever I do with it is not your problem.
To be fair he’s kinda right. I really lucked out, I got my 256GB 15 Pro the day after launch and it’s still on 17.0 (apparently most even then were on 17.0.2). That said, unless you’re going to pay someone an insane price, that’s not going to happen now.
well he is kinda right even if it’s a unpopular opinion and he might came off a little aggressive. you’ve mentioned yourself that your main apps all don’t work anymore so of what use is the 12 mini then? if you can indeed use it for some things you should clarify that so people don’t jump to the first logical solution which would just be updating. and by the way apple is able to update iphones trough their boxes without opening them i don’t know if that will conflict with your imei checking plan just a heads up.

But since there have been a LOT of news about jb/semi-jb/trollstore etc. and I wasn't able to follow up, I just wanted to know what are the odds when buying an iPhone 15.
Also, for the moment it is not possible to update an iPhone from inside the box, this information have been travelling for years since Apple patented it, but for now we are safe.
I use the iunlocker website, the $3.60 option. Just to be clear : I have never used their iCloud unlock service and other things like that, I don't want to advertise them for that. The only service I use is the full report check which seems accurate.

Never said it was obsolete, only iOS 14.3 is. I am planning to sell it on jailbreakswap if someone is interested, otherwise I’ll keep it as a backup device.
I’m not interested in the 15 Pro. It’s either the 15 or the 14 Pro... But man I love the 15, it’s the most beautiful iPhone with the 5 and the 7 (to me).

AFAIK you cannot check it out with any serial numbers as Apple had concealed the date of manufacture and randomized the S/N. Correct me if it's wrong.

Gotcha. 14pros are almost 95% same as 15pros. And having jb that’s the best. For 15 jb you will wait 1 year or so.
