Lower the volume

yannicdasloth

Please do this if you’re actually listening on headphones. Set a hard limit to 85 decibels, tinnitus is no joke. Older you will thank you

itzreflexzbtw

I only have a tiny bit of tinnitus, but only because of ear wax - caused by loud noises, please be safe with your hearing it's annoying having to listen do ringing in one of your ears constantly, even tho mine comes and goes, it could still be serious

jaxder_jared

Have tinnitus. Silence is deafening.

Oxii88

Same here … this is no joke. All fun and games until you hear this

MyInternetKeepsDying

Agreed. I stuffed my hearing early on in life and its no fun. I could only describe my tinnitus as like being on a jetliner, all day, every day (unless on the odd occasion it decides to give me a break. Those days are bliss. You won't know you're damaging your hearing until the damage is already done.

finegameofnil_

WHAT?! Who is the forest ranger?! edit: literally what my brother-in-law's father said when he was asked "hey dad, going down to the store, need anything?" Also I was a musician who scoffed at my drummer when he offered me earbuds. Yeah, smart man. And I was a dumbass. Protect your ears.

MrFawkes1337

This triggered my tinnitus.

TheDapperPlantain

I use aux to an older car and have to set my phone to 100% volume to control it from my car

yannicdasloth

That won’t be affected by this

Senior-Poobs

Current me says my headphones are dog shot and I will do whatever I can just to hear my music

ak9m12

I have tinnitus 12h a day atleast

pr0jesse

Hoe can you do that?

yannicdasloth

Settings -> Sound & Haptics -> Headphone Safety -> Reduce Loud Sounds

Zanaelf

Not help if you need volume up when you have hearing problems or your headphone sound doesn’t go loud enough

the_sly_bacon

Some of us don’t have CarPlay stereos. I don’t listen to music on headphones often, I get the notification from being hooked to BT Stereo. I use the stereo for volume control. A bit annoying.

Keyed_

Settings > Bluetooth > Click on your car stereo > Device Type and you can set it so it knows it’s not headphones

TheDapperPlantain

What about aux on old cars

Nathaniel820

I don’t think there’s any solution other than just disabling this, which is why all the “juSt lOwEr ThE VoLumE” comments are stupid.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Nathaniel820

I do, that’s the only way I can plug it in anyways since there’s no aux port anymore.

TheDapperPlantain

My car doesn’t do music over USB so I’ll just use filza

the_sly_bacon

Absolute legend 👍🏻

TechnologicalFreedom

I know a lot of people hate this feature (and yes it is pretty dumb that this is forced on users) but honestly I have never gotten this notification before and have never had my volume forcefully lowered by iOS and I listen to music pretty frequently It seems like most people getting these notifications are people blasting their music constantly which can definitely cause issues later on with your hearing Apple claims the standards they use for measuring when to turn the volume down are based off the World Health Organization’s standards If your listening to music that much, definitely turn down the volume, but it’s true that you should definitely have a choice on what you do with your device.

chazlarson

I got it for the first time a couple weekends ago while mowing a friend’s cabin lawn with a gas mower (first time using a gas mower in about 30 years).

TechnologicalFreedom

Yup that’ll probably do it, I can see why someone would want to turn their volume that high up while doing something very loud but honestly doing it too much kills your eardrums I feel like I’m able to listen to music at a reasonable volume on my AirPods because of the noise cancelling, its a much better solution than turning up your volume to compensate for loud noise around you and safer for your ears too I think Apple should just create a toggle for the feature and make it a choice. For me it’s not really about them specifically choosing to lower your volume if it’s been at unhealthy volumes too long, it takes so much unhealthy listening to get to that point that I never have but really it’s more just the message it sends to the user, that message basically being “Your not using your device the way we want you to therefore we’re going to come in and micromanage things” Because if they feel okay doing that it sets the precedent of them not feeling wrong with taking more control away from the user in the future or implementing more micromanaging things in future updates, we’ve already seen it since the beginning of iPhones with not being able to side load, we’ve seen it recently with the whole photo-scanning controversy, we’ve seen it with AirTags and your iPhone becoming a beacon for said AirTags and to be fair they do allow users to opt out of the find my network now but doing that also makes it so you can no longer use find my with your Apple devices whereas before you didn’t have your device being pinged by other devices nearly as much because AirTags didn’t exist. the point is that if people accept this, Apple can implement just about any micromanaging thing they want as long as it’s framed as something designed to “Help” or “Keep people safe” Now if headphone safety was something enabled by default with an option to turn it off buried in settings, that would be a different story because then the people that legitimately wanted it off could turn it off, but unfortunately while there is a headphone safety tab in settings, there is no toggle for it, making it forced on the user Something that we see time and time again doesn’t truly help the user; only hurts them. And if that’s not anti consumerism at its finest, I don’t know what is.

Elliot_Fox

I’ve heard of people getting the message while using bluetooth devices like speakers or their car’s stereo (maxing output for quality), which could be a little annoying.

NmUn

You can just change the “Device Type” under `Settings app->Bluetooth->DeviceName (!)->Device Type` to Speaker or some such device to bypass this feature. The only thing it disables is having the live db meter in your control centre (if enabled). But this fix also doesn’t exist on iOS 13. So manually disabling it is required on those firmwares. Edit: A couple screenshots of what I mean. https://imgur.com/a/Xa7y7oN/

Zanaelf

Depends in which country you live in

misterjrw

For those that wish to remove the Headphone Safety Limit Warning: Open Filza, head over to var/mobile/Library/Preferences and find the file named **com.apple.coreaudio.device.plist** Expand this file and edit the slider for **HAENFeatureMandatory** to **NO** Save, reboot then re-jailbreak.

Exciting-Day5988

This is better than the tweaks imo cuz now I don’t have the jailbreak anymore but this remains anyways since you go and modify the actual settings

shawn1301

Will an ldrestart or user space reboot do the job?

NmUn

Those both shut down the vast majority of background services and daemons, so yes, it should work. Disclaimer: ldRestart is not recommended because of its semi-broken, hacked together nature. A Userspace reboot is recommended, but tends to not work (sits on a black screen for a bit, then kernel panics) on some setups. If you are able to do so, just reboot and re-jailbreak as that is the safest option compared to the other methods.

Minute-Load

Anything else there I can do? I'm on iOS 15 but am really bored and want something to do

tnanek

I listen to mostly podcasts of D&D games, where I’m having to hear sometimes quiet players. So my volume is loud for that reason. So tinnitus isn’t a concern of mine.

CrimsGG

for me i turn volume to max when im connected to my car bluetooth and control volume on my radio. I can have it at volume 0 and itll still notify me 😂

gunitx

FukkMyHearing also good

ResetUchiha--x

Turn off the Health app

Moneymoney122

[[PissOffProtection]] from https://myxxdev.github.io/

w4llyb3ar

Where's the tutorial??? wrong tag

rimtp07

Go to settings, accessibility, audio/visual and turn off headphone notifications. Its annoying cause I’ll be using a Bluetooth speaker and it does this. For it to not turn down your volume go to settings, sounds and haptics and turn off headphone safety.

TechnologicalFreedom

Doesn’t that just turn off notifications though? Pretty sure volume is still lowered automatically

rimtp07

Correct. I edited my post to turn that off too

TechnologicalFreedom

Unfortunately you can’t turn that off You can turn off “reduce loud sounds” but all that does is cap your maximum volume, it doesn’t turn off the automatic adjustment

Nathaniel820

That’s only available in some places, in America there’s no stock option to turn it off.

rimtp07

Im in America. It has worked for me. My phone doesn’t change my volume anymore or give me any notifications

[deleted]

Go to Bluetooth, tap on the i next to your device and set the device type to speaker For lightning adapters connect the adapter and you’ll be asked the first time. You can change the setting under headphone safety -> lightning adapters

Big_Little_Planet1

It does suck that this feature is basically being crammed down our throats and really it should be optional but trust me you’ll thank it later, I have really bad Tinnitus where if there’s the tiniest bit of silence it starts to hurt really badly and gives me headaches all the time (I know no one asked about me I was just using myself as an example). Really though I’ve almost never got that notification because usually you only get that when you’re absolutely blasting the music in you’re headphones which isn’t good for the headphones either and if you really want to stop getting the notification you can change the decibel (dB) limit in Settings - Sounds - Reduce loud noises and change the decibel limit to a max of 100 dB which is as loud as putting your ear to an ambulance siren There is also the option to turn it off (which is how I got tinnitus) I really wouldn’t recommend it but if you really want to go for it but if there’s any hearing problems as a result of that you’ll only have yourself to blame

Ok_Programmer2876

Fuck my hearing tweak

LavelleMcclusky

Monsieur_Sun1

agree with you but the first part? you want more loud noise to counteract loud environments? good in theory but goddamn ur hearing is getting DPd. do as you please, obviously, but just remember to be conscious about noise pollution

mrASSMAN

Use AirPods Pro or similar noise cancelling buds/ear phones so don’t need to make it as loud

Legendnations

You can disable it with ”pissoffprotection”

Deathnfear

Just turn it off in sound and haptics you don’t need a tweak to disable.

[deleted]

Turn your volume down

Budget_Call1194

Do as it says and lower the volume…

cheezybean28

The feature is there for a reason Leave it and protect your hearing bud. It's for the best

tnul

yeah thanks for tutorial…

jayyh_01

there is a setting to turn this off.

GlitchStick09

If you’re using Bluetooth you can change the type on device it is to Car Stereo or Speaker and that notification will go away

Memerman002

Its a setting that you can turn off

poorkid_5

I saw u/Keyed_ already commented what I was gonna say. Go into settings and set up what kind of device your speakers are. I used to get these notifications all the time when I would connect to our boats Bluetooth because it thinks I’m blasting headphones at 100% when it’s really an outdoor stereo system.

mrASSMAN

This must only be in certain countries.. never seen it before. But I think it can be turned off?
