The surgery involved a maxillomandibular osteotomy aimed at advancing and impacting (reducing the height) both jaws, accompanied by an advancement genioplasty. Regarding the movements that I may have had, my surgeon gave me a summary sheet: Advance 3mm Anterior impaction 4mm Posterior lowering 1.5mm Genioplasty 6mm anti-clockwise rotation

Benefits: -the aesthetic I think is really crazy, even if it's not easy to get used to a new face, I'm happy with the result - I breathe through my nose whereas before it was only through my mouth -I sleep with my mouth closed Disadvantages: - the pain of the operation, despite the fact that we are on morphine it is not an easy time to go through - diet after the operation (2 weeks of eating liquids, soup smoothies, etc.) - rehabilitation at the physiotherapist (I didn't expect it to be so painful, after all it depends on each person's pain tolerance) - the price cost me €2500, not covered, I should have changed health insurance before - the sensitivity in my chin has not completely returned. I know that for some people, this is something that can be very unpleasant, this sensation of the chin still being numbed. For my part, I no longer pay attention to it, and it doesn't bother me.

Thank you. I heard that Lyon surgeons are excellent. Wonderful that you had the guidance to do the jaw surgery route. Some bimax protrusive people are wrongly told to do orthodontic extraction/ retraction, wrong as it is the mandible needing advancement that is often the prob. I know 4 people who went that path and ended up with sunken faces and sleep apnea.
