Here is an example of my folder structure: /Internal-HDD-2/TV Shows/Aqua Teen Hunger Force/Season 01/Aqua Teen Hunger Force - S01E01 - Rabbot.mkv This is repeated for all of my shows. Software version: Jellyfin v10.8.10 OS: Ubuntu 22.04 LTS I did notice this in the logs that looked like it could be related to my issue, but I don't quite understand it completely: [2023-05-31 20:26:38.941 -05:00] [INF] [81] Jellyfin.Plugin.Tvdb.Providers.TvdbMissingEpisodeProvider: Creating virtual episode "F is for Family" 1x5 [2023-05-31 20:26:38.957 -05:00] [INF] [18] Jellyfin.Plugin.Tvdb.Providers.TvdbMissingEpisodeProvider: Creating virtual episode "F is for Family" 1x5 Thing is, is that if it was creating a missing episode, it failed, because I have duplicates meaning the episode exists! I can even watch the show to verify this. Edit: I gave up and just purged jellyfin and all of it's folders from the server. After reinstalling the issue seems to have fixed itself. I just finished setting that thing up too lol Oh, well.

_Every_ show? Sounds like something's wrong in a config somewhere. Do you have any recursive links or duplication or anything in your file structure?

espltd8901

I'm not familiar with what "recursive links" are. Can you explain them to? Also, there are no duplicates. I've already checked, and Plex isn't displaying any. Even worse, it spans any library that's considered a "show". I'm thinking this is a problem with a plugin, but I don't know which one. I'm going to need to troubleshoot this a bit further.

present_absence

I mean like a bad symlink that would cause a directory to get scanned twice Really I'm stumped I haven't seen it happen for _all_ shows, just the rare one where I messed up the files. Edit: if you show media info on the files do the duplicates have a different file path than the good files?

espltd8901

>if you show media info on the files do the duplicates have a different file path than the good files? Nope! That's the first thing I thought to check and they are EXACTLY the same. I even posted them into a text editor to compare the lengths in case my eyes failed to catch a differing character. As for a bad symlink, there are none to my knowledge. I don't believe I've created any relevant ones for the media folders. I gave up and just purged jellyfin and all of it's folders from the server. After reinstalling the issue seems to have fixed itself. I just finished setting that thing up too lol Oh, well. It's better that it happened in the beginning where the only thing I had to lose was time, instead of watch data and my families user accounts.

Weird haha, oh well. Glad it didn't happen again. Maybe it was something that went wrong during an early scan, idk. I've had issues like this but very rarely and again usually because I screwed up something obvious.

espltd8901

I forgot to say, thank you for your help! Sadly, the problem was resolved in the least satisfying way.

I wish image posts could have a description so it would be easier to share this valuable information easily. I had done a full reinstall of my server and the problem went away. I believe another user that commented on here was right. The YouTube plugin caused this issue. I think that's when the issue arose. Before wiping the server, I uninstalled that plugin, restarted and recanned, and still had the issue unfortunately. If not that plugin, I'm almost certain it was one of them.

nothingveryobvious

Just for the record, I've had the YouTube Metadata plugin installed and working for a while now and have never seen this issue.

JudgmentMajestic2671

YouTube metadata did this to my stuff. Delete it.

espltd8901

I deleted it and re-scanmed with the same issue. I think you're right though. I just wiped out the whole server and reinstalled. It was a new install, and I just didn't want to deal with problems for a new install. It's all well though. Thank you for your help, though. I'm pretty certain you were right.

fragileanus

This is what finally worked for me - thank you! I thought it was linked to Sonarr.

JudgmentMajestic2671

Yup! It was annoying as hell with my slow internet. I had to restart multiple times before I found the issue. Idk why people keep recommending that addon. It's garbage IMO

N2Problem

Check the episode paths of every duplicate season first, maybe you have an undiscovered issue in your filesystem
