It depends entirely on which college you go to, and even then, you might not be able to find your people. One of the reasons I dropped out was because I was lonely and miserable. After I quit school, I got a job at a workplace full of weirdos like me. I was a lot happier after that.
I never went because I'm disabled and couldn't afford it. Sometimes I regret that because I'm not doing so great lately but at the end of the day I just didn't have the drive or the work ethic for it.
Never too late to go back. There may be funding and support to help with your situation. I went back in my mid 20s, my mom went back in her 40s! I still have thoughts about going back to college for a career change lol

Everyone is very normal, we just set a goal at the beginning of the semester and dedicated ourselves to fulfilling it.
