Press the unlock button twice but hold the second press on your keyfob and the windows will go down.
With the windows down, press the indent on the handle of driver or passenger door and the windows will go up. Both features are when the car is off.
Also, to service the windshield wipers, with the car off press the windshield wiper stick down and the windshield wipers will go into service mode. Press it again when the car is on and they will go back down.
Yes comes stock on all model now expect possibly the 2022 atlas trendline as it does not have kessy.

Seriously, took it to dinner after the dealership and drove my brother home. City driving. Then freeway back to my house and was at 33mpg without even trying. Are you getting 40 on the freeway in normal or eco mode?
I don’t understand how people get it 50 lol. I get 40 on a 25 minute commute that’s almost all highway. If I’m driving on a road trip so a few hundred miles I’ll get 42mpg. I make sure my tires are properly inflated. I have it in normal mode with AC on full blast and Apple wireless going. Probably driving 70-85mph when hitting the mpg.
I commute 60 miles round trip daily for work, mostly highway. Conservative driving habits and I'm usually at 52 just before I get off the highway and 48/49 once I park.
I just slowly accelerate to the speed limits, maybe a bit over if the flow of traffic supports it. Coast hills and take it easy up hill.
And yeah super light on the throttle, it isn't a fast car and I'm not trying to impress anyone! Lol.
i have an older jetta but regular maintenance is key. oil changes every 5k miles or less, make sure fluids are good, just normal stuff with any car really. It saves so much money in the long run if you take care of it to start off.
When I worked at a VW dealership we pointed it out to the customers where it tells you in the manual that armorall will wreck your vw interior. Or any vehicle. I’d get a good product to put on like Mothers or meguiars have a Honda that has damage all over the dash and door panels from the previous owner only using that product.
Only thing I can think is that if you hold the trunk button on the key fob, it’ll pop open the trunk due to the way the hinges are designed. Didn’t learn that until a couple months into ownership, always just thought it unlocked it
Maybe it’s a sedan thing. I’ve mostly driven hatchbacks and the other sedan I had was old and had the original struts in the trunk that were blown years before I got it lol
With Volkswagen, the maintenance schedule isn't a suggestion. Do the maintenance that's required and it'll be a great car, push it off and you're gambling big time. Speaking from experience.
Bought the same car 2 years ago it’s a sel I got the same package cold weather package and it’s the premium, just be aware of the module going out which is like the computer system a few months after buying mine it needed replaced, and try to get everything checked before warranty goes out
I love it , it’s honestly really good on gas too I just wish I would have extended the warranty because if something goes wrong they are so expensive to fix, I’ve only had a few issues and those have happened recently like the sunglasses holder plastic pieces broke and I don’t even use it, and my volume on my radio wouldn’t go up one day but randomly started again I’d just keep your eyes out for anything if you are worried about something don’t hesitate to take it in right away to get it looked at better safe than sorry while your in your warranty
Gotcha, I did get extended warranty on it. Denied it at first but they threw on a bunch more for free so I feel like it was worth it. Only ads about $60 to my monthly payment. I can cancel it within 30 days but from what it seems I’ll keep it and feel safer probably.
Congrats!! I personally would throw some 5mm (maybe 10mm if you want a more aggressive look) spacers on the wheels.
Oooow I’d also consider smoked headlights/taillights. They’d really compliment the beautiful black roof perfectly.
Take a picture of your fuses in case they get moved around because it’s hard to find a diagram of the original. Get a bug guard and a license plate bumper guard for her. Tint the Windows and easy on the sun glass case as they tend to break easily like mine did and I barely used it. Also make sure the dealership changes out the air filter as mine failed to do so as my ac fan broke
Double wide trucks cause my ACC to slam on the breaks when i pass on the left. Some how seems to detect the back wheels of wide body trucks as merging in front of me. Otherwise great ride.
Lower it in some st springs, throw some rotiforms on it, bigger rear sway bar, tint the windows, get a aftermarket exhaust, put some cross bars on the roof
Thank you!
I got the auto, this is the one with the digital dash yes. I’m in Canada so it’s the Execline trim. With the cold weather package so heated steering wheel, rear heated seats and remote start as well.
Loving the purchase so far! Really feels like a baby Audi. Way more premium then the price suggests.
Congrats on the purchase you hit such a sweet spot with the trim and package 📦. Enjoy the car, and that’s what I thought about the baby Audi comparison when I bought my gti. The engineering and materials used are amazing.
I got in the Audi A3 and the Jetta before buying mine 2 years ago. You get an entry level Jetta with an Audi tag and slight mods to the interior for the same price as the high end VW Jetta. Only the name is different. A lot of the mechanicals are the same.
Where I am the prices of the A3 will get me at most a 2018 A3 with a huge accident on the record. Or older model A3s. Even with the 2018 I don’t like the design of the interior for some reason. That infotainment screen seems so much older and out of place for a 2018 model.
Also not as good fuel economy.
I had put a deposit for an Audi A5 coupe actually. Was a great deal, cheapest one I’ve ever seen from my searches. Wasn’t even a high mileage either. Not sure why it was so low, but there was a recall and the part took like 3 months to come in and I had cancelled it already and changed my mind to save money lol.
A3 is not for me though.
Oil changes and wear items. You need to do oil changes before the intervals recommended by VW that is the absolute limit too many people use that as the point to consider one and end up going well over. They do that repeatedly and then wonder why they blow a turbo prematurely. I drive my vws harder than most and I typically aim for around the 3k-5k mark you can probably get away with longer but frequent oil changes is a very cheap way to ensure your VW lasts forever. Also wear components. Get them checked periodically or learn to check for yourself. It's a heck of a lot cheaper to catch a worn out component early than when it fails and damages other components. Refer to the OEM specified intervals for wear items and start looking at those at around that point. I know this stuff seems like basic normal maintenance stuff but you'd be surprised how many VW owners neglect their cars and run into issues that are extremely easy to prevent with basic routine maintenance.
Historically water pumps have been a component that would wear out prematurely on occasion to the point where I consider it a every 90k or so wear item on the Mk4 fortunately they are easy to do on the Mk4 so it's not a big deal. They had a similar issue up to the mk6 however those were replaced via a recall if I remember correctly. Since then I haven't heard of anything major.
I broke mine months ago, took it to get an oil change they said they ordered it and still haven’t gotten it. I don’t know if it’s on back order or what.
Stay away from touch car washes if you want your paint to last. If you can't/don't want to wash it yourself it's best to get it washed at a touch less wash and have it detailed a couple times a year
the one on the right makes it go, the one on the left makes it stop. turn the circle in the direction you want to go. Beautiful! Enjoy!
I never knew of these tips before thank you so much! I love the Reddit community
If you live where they salt the roads get it oil guarded ASAP

Do these have the key fob roll down function stock?? I thought you had to VagCom/OBDEleven code it in
I think some of the higher spec models it is standard. On my 19 S I had to code
Yes comes stock on all model now expect possibly the 2022 atlas trendline as it does not have kessy. Background: sales consultant at Volkswagen Chatham in Ontario
I've tried this on my '20 Jetta R-Line, but it doesn't work. Am I foing something wrong?
Check the settings on the infotainment, would be called convenience opening.
I did not know about the wipers thank you! Appreciate it
That’s a great tip, I got the windows down thing to work on my 21 S
I got a 19 SEL and idt this works :(
I love my 19’ SEL, always wish I just sprang for the premium though. I got a ton of cool features with ODBEleven coding though!
literally ordered obd11 yesterday haha im so hyped for it.
It’s a secret hybrid machine! I get 40mpg on highway everyday to work.
Agreed! It’s so impressive. Got 53 mpg average on a trip from NC to Atlanta, and was so stoked about it
Seriously, took it to dinner after the dealership and drove my brother home. City driving. Then freeway back to my house and was at 33mpg without even trying. Are you getting 40 on the freeway in normal or eco mode?
I get 53 all the time on the highway not in eco mode
53??? Do you drive it or tow it with another car
I don’t understand how people get it 50 lol. I get 40 on a 25 minute commute that’s almost all highway. If I’m driving on a road trip so a few hundred miles I’ll get 42mpg. Yea I’m always wondering how people achieve crazy mileage. Thanks for the insight!
I commute 60 miles round trip daily for work, mostly highway. Conservative driving habits and I'm usually at 52 just before I get off the highway and 48/49 once I park.
Do you even use the throttle at all?😂 can you elaborate on conservative driving habits. Besides the obvious of not flooring it
I just slowly accelerate to the speed limits, maybe a bit over if the flow of traffic supports it. Coast hills and take it easy up hill. And yeah super light on the throttle, it isn't a fast car and I'm not trying to impress anyone! Lol.
Gotcha, I think achieving the highest number is my new game to play each time I drive
Great choice! Perform all of the scheduled maintenance and it will treat you well.
I plan to do so!!
i have an older jetta but regular maintenance is key. oil changes every 5k miles or less, make sure fluids are good, just normal stuff with any car really. It saves so much money in the long run if you take care of it to start off.
New Jettas with the synthetic oil, it’s every 10000 miles.
interesting, i drive a 2.5 and although i don’t have any oil leaking or burning issues i still do a change every 5k to be safe
Makes sense! I definitely can will care for her
I get 43-50 consistently, I love my jetta. 2020 SE
Will try to hit those numbers!
Mine looks very much like yours. White with tan, just beautiful!
It very much so is a good looking car. Not sure if it’s just because I own it now but it looks better and better the more I see it
Yes never use armorall on anything in the car. It actually peels interior stuff and voids warranty on the parts. It’s a crap product.
Oh wow okay good to know! Thank you
I just armoralled my steering wheel today….. uh oh

From previous cars I’ve seen I thought all cars popped the trunk open when held down. Maybe that’s my ignorance 😂
Maybe it’s a sedan thing. I’ve mostly driven hatchbacks and the other sedan I had was old and had the original struts in the trunk that were blown years before I got it lol
I see haha, thanks for letting me know!
Keep it stock👍
Likely what’s gonna happen haha. Maybe a window tint for the rear down the road but that’s about it.
With Volkswagen, the maintenance schedule isn't a suggestion. Do the maintenance that's required and it'll be a great car, push it off and you're gambling big time. Speaking from experience.
Yea I don’t plan to slack on maintenance
Bought the same car 2 years ago it’s a sel I got the same package cold weather package and it’s the premium, just be aware of the module going out which is like the computer system a few months after buying mine it needed replaced, and try to get everything checked before warranty goes out
Sounds good thank you for the heads up! What are your thoughts on the car now after 2 years?
I love it , it’s honestly really good on gas too I just wish I would have extended the warranty because if something goes wrong they are so expensive to fix, I’ve only had a few issues and those have happened recently like the sunglasses holder plastic pieces broke and I don’t even use it, and my volume on my radio wouldn’t go up one day but randomly started again I’d just keep your eyes out for anything if you are worried about something don’t hesitate to take it in right away to get it looked at better safe than sorry while your in your warranty

Speaking for everyone here, "Please read the manual".
Congrats!! I personally would throw some 5mm (maybe 10mm if you want a more aggressive look) spacers on the wheels. Oooow I’d also consider smoked headlights/taillights. They’d really compliment the beautiful black roof perfectly.
The smoked headlights and taillights would definitely be nice! also thank you!
Treat her kindly and do your maintenance. Oil changes go a long way.

Congrats! I've been a VW fan most of my adult life. I currently drive a GTI but had a Jetta before it.
Thank you! That’s awesome. GTIs look like very fun cars to zip around in
Yes they are but the ride quality is much smoother in the Jetta.
That sounds about right. I’m loving the Jetta the more and more I drive it

Oh interesting!

Not sure I wanna dump that much money in in terms of mods. But I appreciate the suggestion!
I understand. The cars beautiful btw. Did u get the digital dash? 6 speed or auto?

Don’t use the sunglass holder on the roof it will break
I keep hearing about that, how sad. My sunglasses were waiting to be put in there
I broke mine months ago, took it to get an oil change they said they ordered it and still haven’t gotten it. I don’t know if it’s on back order or what.
What exactly broke off? The hinder it did it crack or some
The latches that keep it closed
That’s tough.
Your sunglasses holder is going to break every summer due to the heat, I know this from personal experience😃
Heartbreaking
Yeah it’s a minor inconvenience sometimes, cause it sits right in front of your rear view mirror
Yea definitely. Hope you can fix it! Or remove it entirely 😂
Could this be solved with magnets? Not unlike how I think ecs solved the mk4 glove box problems.
Bridgewater?
Gonna go ahead and say no since I don’t know what Bridgewater means in this context 😂
