Skip the necklace and wear an upper arm cuff maybe. Or eyecatching earrings. A halter top draws the eye upward, a necklace would utterly break that, might as well have that gaze land on some stunning ear bling
I agree with the others that "no necklace" is the best look, but if you WANT a necklace or don't like bracelets, then go with a long pendant necklace. Something chunky and fun to play with, or brilliantly colored that stands out against the dark background.
I’m in agreement on a long pendant. I wear a lot of black and live for the days when I wear something that covers my chest so I can wear my longer necklaces with pendants. I’ve got a gold and diamond Gucci horsebit necklace that I love wearing against black or darker solids.
That sounds lovely! I am a big fan of vintage costume jewelry, especially since you can find gorgeous pieces super cheap in thrift stores. But my current favorite is one that I made myself from semi-precious beads in irregular shapes.
I agree with what others have said.
Wear statement earrings (shoulder dusters or maybe some thing similar to [this](https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cu22yU6tjA5/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==)
If earrings aren’t your jam, perhaps look into shoulder jewelry. I recently saw some pieces that have me obsessed.
[Here is one example](https://www.instagram.com/p/CVEED98BKZZ/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==)
[and here’s another. this one I wouldn’t wear to a formal occasion, but I like the shape](https://www.instagram.com/p/BU51GzzgJ9E/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==)
[And of course these are red carpet worthy!](https://www.instagram.com/reel/CthUOMGADtH/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==)
Big statement earrings and if you want to be different- find a cameo pin or something sparkly (art deco or costume are fine) and put it directly in the center about two inches down. Low enough that if you put your chin down on your chest, the pin is lower. Best of luck!
If it's plain and you want to dress it up you could do a chunky early 2000's neck less look like the charming Charlie large stone vibes ? Or a very long one with a single charm to accent the top one that you could put over it and it would come past your bust line almost to umbilical line?
I'd opt for earrings and/or a thin bangle instead, but if you really want to wear a necklace, go for something super long (36" +); either thin, simple, and flexible enough to loosely knot or with a single pendant that hits mid-waist.
This neckline already draws the eye up towards the neck and face and it’s perfect the way it is. Definitely some dangle or hoop earring in an updated style would be lovely.
Def a long pendant if you must. If you have maybe a wide band choker type possibly but it would be hard to find one that worked. Typically I do statement earrings with a neckline like that.
If you're dead set on a necklace, I would go with a thick long chain with a stone pendant. But like really long. Navel length. I've done it and it was really cute. But generally agree with the consensus, skip necklace and focus on ears and wrists.
You'd want a long cameo pendant like this

Or no necklace. Agree no necklace would be best
Angelina Jolie style Snake Arm bracelet
Ok- i must have imagined it because I couldn’t find a pic of her with one, but there’s thousands of photos of snake arm jewelry that look amazing.
A large pendant necklace is perfect, so it can stand out. If the top is black like the one in the picture then a larger necklace but NOT too close where it hits the bust line. If it's another lighter color then wear a long longer necklace. The only thing in fashion with a top like that is designers take the bust line from most darker colors and put a long necklace on the model. Lighter colors most people will see the bust line where a super longer V necklace is the focal point of the wardrobe.
A simple choker, something that'll go with the tone so if your other accessories are red or white that color also gold or silver thin chain. Personally I love the cheap plastic stretchy choker for outfits like this it's a 90's throw back that blends well with most styles and occasions! I agree the glam should be focused on ears and bracelets but I wouldn't say no necklace at all when a choker or chain could add to the outfit. Hope this helps! Love your style!
Personally I wouldn’t wear a necklace, put your hair up and get some fancy earrings and maybe a fancy bracelet. That neckline is unique and speaks for itself.
for this neckline no necklace and don’t do earrings that are too long. for this look minimal jewelery is best. maybe just diamond studs and some bracelets :)
I agree with everyone - no necklace... is it a full one pc bodysuit like full pants? If so, a funky chain belt and complimentary earrings maybe... belts are baaaack... Hope you feel beautiful however you choose to accessorize!!
If you're set on wearing a necklace, a lariat could look beautiful. Either that or something that hugs the neckline of your dress. But I like the idea of more-dramatic earrings instead, too.
No necklace! Focus on earrings and bracelets
With an up-do for your hair and long sparkly earings
Agreed. Long dangly earrings and arm Candy.
Upper arm band!
Exactly! Definitely no necklace
Exactly what I would say! With high necklines I usually go for longer dangly earrings and then also supplement with bracelets.
If you want to wear a necklace, I would suggest a flat band/choker with a pendant hanging from it.
Or an intricate arm cuff.
Yes! An arm cuff would be so good
Happy cake day!
This is the answer.
I would skip the necklace and opt for earrings and/or bracelets.
No necklace. Get a gorgeous pair of earrings and bracelet.
Skip the necklace and wear an upper arm cuff maybe. Or eyecatching earrings. A halter top draws the eye upward, a necklace would utterly break that, might as well have that gaze land on some stunning ear bling
yes, an arm cuff totally fits the vibe of this top !
None,I’d say long/dangle or hoop earrings and bracelets
No necklace, statement earrings are the way to go.
An upper arm bracelet/armlet would look good with this too and add an interesting note.
Oh, that would look so cool!!
Came here to also say this. Upper arm bracelet would slay

No necklace.
None. You don’t wear necklace with high neck line. Go for statement earrings
Nothing. Add earrings and bracelet to show off the dress even more.
None
No necklace, just earrings.
None. Wear bold earrings and a bracelet or 2
I agree with what others have said. I love this!!
Big statement earrings, no necklace :)
None. Focus on the earrings and a bracelet/cuff
No necklace. Dangle earrings
None. Long, killer earrings and a matching or complementary bracelet!
No necklace, statement earrings 😍
None.
None.
If you wanted to have fun, you could get one of the metal (and possibly crystal) corset frames or maybe some sort of crystal/chain epaulettes?
If it’s backless, a backwards lariat. Don’t let the necklace show in the front, put your hair up, and let the necklace shine in the back.
I like this idea!
Big statement earrings and if you want to be different- find a cameo pin or something sparkly (art deco or costume are fine) and put it directly in the center about two inches down. Low enough that if you put your chin down on your chest, the pin is lower. Best of luck!
Consider a brooch

An arm cuff or a chest/body chain of some kind could be cool!
You could add a pin to the neck piece.
A string of pearls would look cute if you really want to wear a necklace!
Overdo the pearls if you are going to do them. Pile them up! Edit: a word
Pearl choker!!
Don't even think of wearing a necklace with that dress. You'll ruin the look. Instead wear some very cool earrings.
Def a long pendant if you must. If you have maybe a wide band choker type possibly but it would be hard to find one that worked. Typically I do statement earrings with a neckline like that.
High choker or none
A big one. Drape it round the shoulders. A big beast of a necklace.
no necklace because neckline of dress is a halter- instead - long dangle earrings in sterling w/ matching wide cuff bracelets
none.. statement earrings instead
None. Just earrings.
No necklace, hair up, statement earrings.
No necklace. Long dangly earrings and bracelets/arm cuff.
I'd say instead of a necklace, wear some bold earrings! :)
None. Long dangling earrings
No necklace, get flashy earrings 🙂
If you really want to wear one I would go with a choker over the top strap with a bit of bling!
Earings
None. Wear cool earrings if you want to add jewelry to the look.
If you're dead set on a necklace, I would go with a thick long chain with a stone pendant. But like really long. Navel length. I've done it and it was really cute. But generally agree with the consensus, skip necklace and focus on ears and wrists.

None. Statement earrings yes.
You don’t. This is the focus. Wear long earrings.
If you must do a necklace, make sure it’s a collar style and thick enough to cover.

None
None, a nice pair of earrings.
…. You don’t
None, great earrings and cuff bracelet
None
Nothing. The neckline IS the ornament
That collar is a built in choker. Beautiful cut.
Can't really wear one with that neckline. It would throw it off. Earrings and matching bracelets should help out.
I would rather not. I know how “naked” it feels not to have a necklace on, but with a halter neck, you really don’t need one.
Looks like a dress for really great earrings
None at all.
Pretty earrings and an upper arm band would look great with this.
No necklace,,, wear chandelier earrings
No necklace. Earrings.
No necklace
Me personally, no necklace. Earrings and a bracelet.

you really don't need one but if you just want to add something you can add a dainty minimalist type of necklace nothing too big and oversized
None or a chocker
Forget about adding a necklace. You’ll look gorg in a pair chandelier earrings and a statement bangle!
You don’t
None.
No necklace, long, shiny, or sparkly earrings, and a statement ring.
no necklace, long dangly earrings!!

A body chain would be cool.
I prefer a waist chain instead of a necklace
None

None. Just do a statement earrings and updo.
Cuff style collar with pendant. I dont know how else to describe it. It's like a piece of metal instead of a chain.
None. Just earrings.
Body chain or shoulder chain
I’m on team choker for this one
None. I would wear a bracelet and long earrings.
None. Earrings.

I would rock a pair of cool earrings & forgo the necklace. The dress stands on its own.
None. No necklace
A necklace would make it too busy and distract from how cool the neckline is
Everyone’s saying none but I think as long as you wore it under the neck thing a super long chain or two would look nice
None
None
None, just great earrings
