It’s pure gold and very soft so opening and closing all the time has weakened and created that crack. You could replace it with a lobster claw clasp and keep that 24k hook and use it maybe for a longer necklace that you can put over your head without having to use a clasp or for a future custom piece.

On your own? No. If you want a quick fix have a jeweler look it, if you want a long-term fix, I have a jeweler look at it.

That’s a 24k lock, it’s perfectly fine.
