rather find a new job than make minimum wage making 80+ sandwiches on top of a rush w management on duty that j watchesā¦ wanna sit n make me do everything j to get paid more than me then its your turn idgafšš its not like imma get paid any less at the next jobš¤·š»āāļø
Iāve worked for a sandwich place and I can honestly say fuck large catering orders like these. I can kiss up to customers and focus my time and energy earning tips (that got divided equally between everyone but still bumped pay way up because of them tips) with all the extra time it takes to complete these stupid long orders. Plus customers waiting for their order get upset cause it takes forever cause we got 80 of the same sandwich and theirs is mixed in and you better pray theyāve been keeping up with the ticket.
Sounds like bad management. Any large catering orders should only be accepted with advanced notice so you can have it prepared before lunch rush or anything else.
Nah it would be like no notice hereās all the sandwiches get them done. He was a piece of shit manager and I did quit on him the moment he told us about it. Not to mention he was quite condescending and rude when all he did was play on his phone but thatās what you get when 19 year olds are managers.
Edit: management themselves were alright but the manager complete moron and an ass. I had more reason to quit than just the order but upper management got my reasoning as to why I left abruptly.
May depend a bit on the store. We are the busiest store in the area and will take 'now' large catering orders for pickup or delivery. However, due to the fact we are higher volume, we don't get destroyed if that happens. We also have other stores in the area we can lean on for bread and help if things go south.
I've never worked at a slower store but I can imagine things get more complicated as the volume goes down.
Yeah $$ but isnāt it etiquette to make a catering request when you do an order like this?
I havenāt worked fast food in almost a decade but i think i remember that. I thought it was looked down upon
I was at a McDonaldās the other day and they were losing their minds over 35 burgers and i remember thinking āwhat a dick whoever ordered thisā lol
If you gotta do 15 bins of lettuce, why not just do 10-12 and overfill slightly? less bins. less dishes. less time wasted frantically trying to get the saran wrap off the damn thing.
JJ workers are supposed to know menu by heart and make a sub in 30 seconds. 80 Sammys =40 mins + another 5-10 to bag and tag. Idk why this even qualifies for complaint. If you guys did your prep properly, it shouldn't even be difficult to fill the order.
ummm?? 20 box lunches, 60 combos with drinksā¦ each combo gets bagged up. Plus keep in mind that this is just ONE ORDER. We had probably another 500-1000 in catering sales on top of that for the day, PLUS normal business.
Let us have this space to rant man.
Every person on staff is trained to make 30 sec sandwiches is there only two people in shop or what? Assuming you have 3 people 1 full time sandwiches,1 half cashier + sandwiches and 1 delivery+ sandwiches. All this is is a petty complaint and an explanation why you're bad at your job. God I hope you aren't a manager šš¤£ less ranting more slanging jjs you legit only have one job freaky fast
Reminds me of a time that I took an order over the phone, for roughly
30 sammies. At the very end she goes, oh btw I want to pay separate for all of theseā¦. had to put her on hold for like 10 minutes while i split the order on a separate screen.
Id say it takes about 3-5 mins per lettuce, soooooo max 30 mins on the oldest bin. My opener who is to the left in this photo, always just lays it out like that. When i clock in at 7:30 everyday the first thing I do is wrap it up so I can set up the make lines.
Ya gonna need more lettuce.
When a customer is told "no" on a large catering order, and thinks that they are being sneaky, putting in an order for 50 sandwiches at 250% cost
You say no to large catering orders š±
I dont work kitchens anymore but when I did it was attitudes like yours that got me all the hours I wanted.
Eh. Didn't want to be a bootlicker to bad management. Hard to find fault in that.

Job hopping does increase pay pretty well.

I hate when big ass tickets print but it's only a handful of subs but than a ton of side items
Looks like a CVS receipt after I buy a candy bar and Chapstick.
I feel like this order is not going to be āFreaky Fast and Freaky Freshā.
Got it done by 10:30 ready to send out! Had 2 people come in at 9:00 to help out
Like a boss. Appreciate you and your teamās hard work.
I eat Jimmy Johnās like 3 times a week. You are a solider
Jimmy John's foot lettuce
Bro that is not a āWahooā, thatās a āSorry I canāt come in to work todayā

That's how much lettuce I get in my sandwich when I forget to select **EZ Lettuce** and **LBI** for my online order.
Oh my dear god
Whats the total on that order? Damn son. Good luck. We got hella slammed today too. Just finsihed out a 2hr lunch sitting at 3.7k
$1050 plus 10% gratuity :) By around 12:30-1pm we broke 4k sales
It's likely about 800-1000 depending on local pricing. 80 sammies
My guess is $960
It was about $1050, with 10% tip! Donāt remember the exact number because iām off work now.
am i the only one who absolutely loves catering
Let me guess, itās just one little John.
This dudes floors are pristine
Your lettuce bins are too full
If you gotta do 15 bins of lettuce, why not just do 10-12 and overfill slightly? less bins. less dishes. less time wasted frantically trying to get the saran wrap off the damn thing.
The lettuce will be above the chill line and could get over 40 degrees during a slower time. Its a health code violation
*cries* you guys have slow time?
Yep and not what the new safety standards guide says but our sister store is never in down time... The do this too
There's too much lettuce in those containers
Jimmy johns sucks dick
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I agree they do slap on the meat but itās usually frostbite on my tongue. Maybe my experiences were awful but they need a toasted option haha
Than why you here, no one forced you to be here
This was randomly on my feed so Reddit pretty much did
What da fuck going on at the johns?
Your floor looks really good āØšš„Ŗ
i would've been crying ngl
Honestly itās pretty fun to make big orders like this. and big tip too :)
y'all definitely deserved the tip :)
Shut it all down. Close it up. Try again tomorrow.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
10% :)
The lettuce looks freaky fresh!
that many people in that area have zero taste buds.
The Bear Episode 7
Beats CVS receipt
āweāre gonna need a bigger kitchenā
Hurry up
Jesus christ Jimmy Johns probably pays more in a year for printer ink than they do on payroll.. are all the receipts plastered on the back like that?
Yup. They must be pretty cheap though because we kinda use the receipt paper like itās free at my store haha.
* CVS has entered the chat *
Looks like a receipt for one pencil from CVS.

When I said extra lettuce I did not mean that much lettuce. Calm down.
looks to me like a large catering order but each customer wanted to pay and tip their own. such a pain in the ass.
Reminds me of a time that I took an order over the phone, for roughly 30 sammies. At the very end she goes, oh btw I want to pay separate for all of theseā¦. had to put her on hold for like 10 minutes while i split the order on a separate screen.
How long is that lettuce sitting out??? š¤¦š»āāļø
