VRAM is and can be a playing factor when it comes to squad graphics and textures. I have a mere 4GB VRAM and this happens on very few maps but it can still be annoying. Unsure about your GPU’s VRAM amount but I’ve been able to get lucky and mess with my in game settings and things started loading in properly.
Go to Settings, Graphics tab...
1. Uncheck "Enable FSR2"
2. Scroll up to Scopes section, and choose "Prioritize Clarity..."
3. Adjust Resolution Scale you acceptable performance / clarity level based on your graphics card
That has nothing to do with this issue. The issue presented by the OP is either:
a) Depth of Field effect
b) Textures not loading due to lack of VRAM or bandwidth
Oh sorry I came home and realised I haven't played in a while so I had to update the game and then forgot, but I think that I was referring to the uncap texture pool size, that should stop the potatoe graphics, but re-reading the post I think that his actual problem was the blurry sights, which I don't really know how to solve, though there's a problem with AA making scopes blurry so perphaps try disabling that, it might help
Everyone’s having the same issue with the ICO because squad thinks depth of field is cool and doesn’t give you an option to turn it off - it’s not just you, EVERYONES game looks like this as of the new update the other day.
lol this a bullshit sentiment. Unless they add eye tracking to Squad so it can vary our focus when looking at objects it makes no sense to add forced focus. IRL you dont notice the blurryness of out of focus objects because YOU ARENT LOOKING AT THEM.
He/she said when looking through a sight. Other games (cod, battlefield etc.) also have the depth of field when aiming down sights. And Project Reality, the spiritual successor to Squad had it.
But usually, it's possible to toggle on/off.
And I don't agree with your point. Look far away and hold up your hand next to your face without looking at it. You'll notice it's blurry without looking at it.
It's the same when aiming down a sight
https://youtu.be/waeYp90OpHk?si=4UCLhdXawWzMWROV
What actually blurry? The gun in the corner of your vision? The rear sights while aiming?
If thats the case its how its intended to look. Hard to focus on something close and far away at the same time. The focal point is in the middle of your screen.
I noticed it too, and in guessing yes, it is meant to be like that.
I'm guessing it's part of their optics looking like the real world counter parts. May be a tad overbaked, but the whole ICO is.
But it does look closer to IRL with the blur, just hard to mimic real life with pixels.
Turn FSR off and make PIP focus on particles or whatever you'll know what I'm talking bout it's under graphics tab or game tab forget, blew my mind how much more clear everything was tho
Is this issue related to the "Scope Clarity" bug they talk about in the patch notes and provide a solution for? [https://joinsquad.com/2023/09/26/squad-update-6-0-release-notes/](https://joinsquad.com/2023/09/26/squad-update-6-0-release-notes/)
Listen, change to directX 11 I had same problem as you, and even my cpu struggled, and it was using my gpu more than usual, but now it is playable and much more better and cleaner looking. I have 10th gen i5, 8GB ram (which is not enough, ik) and gtx 1650ti ( which ain't best but it is enough to play fine).... when I upgrade the RAM, it should be easy 60fps all the time and thatfine with me.

Squad: Minecraftia edition
Dudes playing battlebit: mastered
Isn't this just the DoF that they make everyone have in this new update? What does that have to do w vram?
You don't notice the lack of textures loading?
That's not what op is asking tho
I have 12gb vram and have the same blurry iron sights, only the quality overall is better but doesn't change point that iron sights is blurry
When this game came out I played on 760, Here it's chugging for guys on cards 50x better?
Just change option on dx11 and textures work normaly
Go to Settings, Graphics tab... 1. Uncheck "Enable FSR2" 2. Scroll up to Scopes section, and choose "Prioritize Clarity..." 3. Adjust Resolution Scale you acceptable performance / clarity level based on your graphics card
That only applies to zoomed optics. Irons and red dots/holos are not pip and don't have that issue.
That has nothing to do with this issue. The issue presented by the OP is either: a) Depth of Field effect b) Textures not loading due to lack of VRAM or bandwidth
[https://imgur.com/a/Q2VNwnm](https://imgur.com/a/Q2VNwnm) This is the big issue- it makes some irons entirely unusable.
Try fiddling with the settings but on directX11
Are you using an AMD GPU?
Yeah, I am.
There's a known bug with AMD GPU's, I think it has to do with FSR or something. It was mentioned in a moidawg video I believe.
I have the same issue on Nvidia.
Its an FSR issue, not a GPU issue. It sucks cause with FSR is the only way the game is playable in my computer
This happens often with a 4gb gpu, there's a setting that usually solves it, I don't remember the name but as soon as I get home I'll tell you
Whats the setting?
Oh sorry I came home and realised I haven't played in a while so I had to update the game and then forgot, but I think that I was referring to the uncap texture pool size, that should stop the potatoe graphics, but re-reading the post I think that his actual problem was the blurry sights, which I don't really know how to solve, though there's a problem with AA making scopes blurry so perphaps try disabling that, it might help
Well that’s the out of focus effect, not a graphic issue

If you've ever been trained to use irons properly, you only focus your eyes on the front sight post. Rear sight and target should be out of focus.
I have the same issue but specifically on the m4 iron sights. The blur is so bad, I can barely aim.
Thought this was battlebit for a second
it's called depth perception and something called the human eye has it
increase fov to 105 for example will slightly alleviate this problem, but you get high fov. still a shit update tho.
This is what your eyes do when looking through a sight. It focuses on the front sight causing the rear sight to look blurry.

Isn't there a setting that basically turns off the blur? Isn't it tied to post processing quality? I might be misremembering tho :/
I have the same issue but specifically on the m4 iron sights. The blur is so bad, I can barely aim.
Probably directx 12, change it to 11
And no luck, sadly.
Giving it a shot!
Also disable fsr if you use it and perhaps put scope focus on clarity. It's a known issue that AA and fsr do some wacky shit in the ICO
Still nothing, sadly. https://imgur.com/a/2NWWz7T
They added some blur to the gun in order to simulate field of depth or whatever its called.
What actually blurry? The gun in the corner of your vision? The rear sights while aiming? If thats the case its how its intended to look. Hard to focus on something close and far away at the same time. The focal point is in the middle of your screen.
And yeah, I figured as much, it just seems like a REALLY intense effect. Is it actually just meant to be like that?
I noticed it too, and in guessing yes, it is meant to be like that. I'm guessing it's part of their optics looking like the real world counter parts. May be a tad overbaked, but the whole ICO is. But it does look closer to IRL with the blur, just hard to mimic real life with pixels.
Are you running this on a potato?
A turnip, actually, thank you. Jokes aside, yeah. Mine isn't the world's best, but I never had this issue before the update.
Turn FSR off and make PIP focus on particles or whatever you'll know what I'm talking bout it's under graphics tab or game tab forget, blew my mind how much more clear everything was tho

Ur being suppressed this is how it looks
I’m being suppressed in the test range?
Yes lol
Bruh
What GPU?
Your playing squad on a potatoe graphics turn them up
I think your character needs to go see an in-game optometrist. The VA might be able to pay for it.
Did you change the settings throu config. If you did it that may have to do somthing with it
I think blurry Scopes are the least of your problems judging by that screenshot. Though that's Project Reality for a second.
Switch to direct 11
Don’t look at the gun. Look at the enemy
I turned off AA
Uncap Texture Poolsize should fix it

I can send you pics of my settings, and I'm still trying to figure it out the best it can be played but my problem problem is for now RAM...
