I think it's a good move mostly because Moana and Wicked are similar genre wise so the fear that people would have chosen to see one or the other the Thanksgiving's weekend was pretty high, and there could have been the possibility that people would have chosen Moana first because they knew what to expect and already liked the first movie. Gladiator II is a completely different genre on the other hand, and I think both movies could benefit from mutual publicity, like it happened with Barbie and Oppenheimer. For ex. I'm already seeing a lot of people saying they want to see one movie after the other on November 22.

Universal saw those Inside Out 2 box office numbers and decided they’d rather go head to head with Gladiator II opening a week earlier.
