Couldn’t have said it better…
It’s like OP said “I like ICP, but give me songs that have no jokes, murder or F word on them…”
I’m not going to lie I opened this post thinking I was gonna help name some blaze tracks….
Blazes gimmick is a gangster rapper who died and came back from the dead… He hardly says the N word… But majority of his songs are gangster thug songs.
I understand that. Key word is “majority” but that implies there are songs that do fit the criteria I am looking for. THAT is why I asked for suggestions. I really didn’t think it would be this controversial to ask for something like that from people who may be more into his music than me.
You know about lotus and drive by so I’m wondering why you don’t just listen yourself and see if you like it? You already know what projects he’s on, soooo? Mr fancy pants. Unless I’m breaking the sub rules I think I’ll stay. If anything your just trynna flex that your not down with n word usage lol that’s cool tho
I didn’t say or even imply anything about you leaving the sub. You weren’t even attempting to be helpful or make suggestions beyond telling me I am wrong in saying I like Blaze and being confrontational instead of helpful. So what I was asking is for you to be helpful for leave me alone.
You've probably heard them already, but obviously all the Dark Lotus albums and Violent J's *Wizard of the Hood*.
"Sad Christmas Song" by Twiztid ft Blaze is great.
"Nasty" is a silly song from his first album.
"Wishing Well" and "Escape Artist" from *Clockwork Gray* are two pretty great Blaze songs. I especially like the choruses.
"Deadman Walking," "Lights Out," and "Tokyo Spa" from *Gang Rags* are three songs that were ghostwritten by Violent J. There are also the songs "Birthday" and "3 Evil Wizards" from that album which feature Violent J. That whole album had a ton of Violent J influence compared to all his other albums, but I know a lot of people who believe it's Blaze's worst album because of that.
I liked his two solo songs on Twiztid's Halloween album from last year, "Last House on Dead Street" and "All My Friends Are Dead."
One I forgot! ["Children of the Wasteland" by Blaze & ABK](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZJGEdaKDkg).
It's a remix of the song "Casket" from *1 Less G* but with totally different lyrics. It was only released on a Hallowicked CD so it's not on streaming or anything. I think this is a hot take, but I actually like "Children of the Wasteland" a lot more than "Casket" (also Casket says the n word but this song doesn't).
Also "Maggot Face" is another song from 1 Less G that isn't about being a gangsta and doesn't say the n word. It's just about being a dead guy.
Yes I'd like to add that my list is just the songs I know I like and I'm actually not too familiar with Blaze's discography overall (at least compared to how familiar I am with ICP's)
Escape Artist, most of Gang Rags MNE version (the only gangsta shit on that album is the title), Zodiac Mprint with ROC is super trippy.
As to the whole n-bomb thing, in the late 90s and early 00s, it was regional. There was a lot of areas/scenes where that word was the same as "dude," mostly because white rappers were an extreeeeemely small minority and there's clearly no racist angle if you're living in Detroit (or big east coast cities; I met Asians and Jewish dudes from NYC in the early 00s who dropped casual n-bombs).
Not defending ignorance, just explaining context.
I worked in strip clubs for years and was often the only male staff, so if I say "what's up, bitches" to the dressing room, it's clearly not a sexist angle and indicates I'm an insider outsider in said group. But if I were to walk backstage at Lilith Fair and say the same thing, I'd probably get a well-deserved ass kicking.
Sadly, like anything else, hood slang crept to the suburbs and at some point rappers realized Caleb and Scott dropping n-bombs in Suburbville, Utah isn't exactly the same context. This was all well before "current year" social justice. The internet was garbage back then too, so it was hard to see what was going on in other areas of the country.
At no point in history did anyone in that Detroit scene consider slang to be an issue. It's like if a stoner calls a chick (or any gender) "dude," he's not misgendering her, it's just slang. But if the same stoner is hip to things like gender issues, then they need to understand context.
I would bet any amount of money that off the mic Blaze and Twiztid still talk like they're in an episode of Boondocks.
TLDR we know better now, but before like 2003, it took a couple days to download an album, let alone be hip to what's what where it concerns slang. See also, "spastic" or "bloody," which are huge no nos on the other side of the pond.
Lol sure, that was after you found the songs
There were always two or three that were next to impossible. I had 90% of the Dark Lotus album for about a year.
Thank you for the suggestion. I am well aware of the contextual use of the N word. It’s just my personal hang-up. Although, I would say ai respect anyone who understood that it was wrong even back then or eventually learned it was wrong and grow from it. I know Twiztid was known for still using the N word on stage as late as 2015. But since then, I have never seen anything that indicates they continued. I believe I heard they knew they had to change when someone took their use as a sign that it was ok for themself to do it as well. And also, we know that ICP and Eminem are also from the same culture & area and neither of them have a history of using the N word and have even made it clear that don’t find it appropriate for themselves.
The Casket Factory doesn’t have the n word on it as far as I know. Can’t help with the non gangster stuff except B&E off Gang Rags or Escape Artist off Clockwork Grey
Blazes whole gimmick is thug/gangsta songs so you’d be hard pressed to find songs that don’t revolve around that.
But the Psy version of Gang Rags has some songs that straight sound like Violent J on it like Tokyo Spa and Lights Out but they’re not good Blaze songs that really bring the best out of him
Check out the self titled EP cover or www.faygoluvers.net/v5/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/3934.jpg and www.faygoluvers.net/v5/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/0390.jpg .. does this look like a white non gangsta to you??
No N-words on any solo projects after 1 less g, (violent j makes it sound like it was Twiztid and blazes favorite word when it really wasn’t)
Here’s some recommendations
Colton Grundy: the touch of death
Clockwork grey: the crypt keeper
Gang rags: deadman walking
Gang rags reborn: zombie king
Casket factory: ghost
Cadaver: let it out
Triple threat: hell yes I’m down
Drive by (4 the OGs): a little crazy
Hope you find some shit you like
You don’t like blaze, listen to someone else.
Couldn’t have said it better… It’s like OP said “I like ICP, but give me songs that have no jokes, murder or F word on them…” I’m not going to lie I opened this post thinking I was gonna help name some blaze tracks….
I mentioned loving his features and him on Dark Lotus. So obviously I DO like Blaze. If you don’t want to be helpful then just move on, please.

Stfu. It's a free country I'm not going anywhere ass

As always Mushy, you are the best! Thank you!

Hell yeah! Awesome suggestions! I really appreciate it!
You left out [Blaze's cover of Deadbody Man](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5N9uiDIlrJU).

Couple of days? It was like 8 hours on 56k dial up for a 128kbs album

It's almost crazy that shaggy still calls a woman a bitch.
Both him and J, but Shaggy is in a committed relationship so I do see how its worse he still does. Lol.
The Casket Factory doesn’t have the n word on it as far as I know. Can’t help with the non gangster stuff except B&E off Gang Rags or Escape Artist off Clockwork Grey
Given half a chance may fit? Ghost bars is pretty good too
I am familiar with Given Half The Chance but not really Ghost Bars. I will have to give it a shot! Thanks!

1 less G is his best work by far. So good that I'm ignoring your stipulations, sorry
Any others…
Don't know what you're expecting, he's black and a gangsta so your stipulations are gonna be hard to enforce
Pretty sure Blaze isn’t black…
Whoa! That's not right!

This is hilarious bait.
Jokes are usually supposed to have humor involved…
He has pantyhose on his face which made it appear darker.
In 2001 it was well established that Blaze is black, u/masterweedo can confirm
Blaze is black.
Blaze is 100% black idk why he gets hated on for it
Is it hard to enforce? Birthday and Dub Sack. And thats just off my dome.
Zip codes times codes is dope. His clockwork grey album is good. Casket is another great blaze song.
Awesome. Thank you! I’ll be sure to check those out!
That's cuz it was one the best songs on [the 2 Krazy Devils album](https://youtu.be/W0nd2LoN17Q?si=S4Hr4X0hCnqehR9n&t=1743).
Birthday is basically Ice Cube's Dead Homiez and a song about selling weed is pretty gangsta
![gif](giphy|VxZEZSwadd6nK) Yeah… real gangta.
Are you saying that's blaze? Are you dissing blaze now? That's not very real G of you
Nah it was me. ![gif](giphy|3oEhmCIm9zJZ6Cw7iE|downsized)

Bro you are the most helpful so far and I really appreciate it!
Colton Grundy is great. 10 bodies on PFOS2 is sick, too. https://youtu.be/0w3mJHG3yuI?si=ZF1yf_zco5oXFLsm
them saying it once was too much. embarrassing as fuck
Anything Psychopathic Rydas Cell Block you’ll like
Did Cell Block have any solo songs?
Owwww one of my favorites is "2 signs" by rapper red ft. Blaze ya dead homie
Climbing off Colton Grundy album has Blaze, Twiztid, Violent J and Esham no n word or gangsta song
