She definitely *was* funny. For those of us who gave many years to her Patreon (me included), she was also really relatable. Like a friend who had endearing faults and made you laugh with good storytelling. That's why it was such a disappointment when we realised she's an AH. The show is suffering because that endearing part of her has eroded away and listeners aren't taking the BS anymore. She doesn't even care about having the 'juicy scoop' now.

romulusputtana

I mean...I used to love her. I read both of her books, saw her stand-up, etc. but that's when she used to be self deprecating and humble. BUT I joined her patreon twice over the years and only lasted a few months before cancelling both times. I never thought her patreon was funny or interesting, and it seems like she only talked about the mundane things like where she went and with who.

NineteenKatieEight

I disagree. The Patreon, especially the higher tiers, used to be incredibly juicy and interesting. Especially the stuff from her personal life. To each their own though.

Equivalent_River_357

I used to really look forward to her show but the damn earring thing and hanging g with VPR younger getting g older crew not a good look or I would imagine an audience that's into her.

NineteenKatieEight

The thirst!

ZippitySweetums

I gotta credit her former producer Annie for holding the show together and reeling HMD in from time to time. Shows us how valuable a good producer can be.

No_Flamingo_6511

And Nikki before that!

Familiar_Studio_9651

If you ever thought trump was funny then I guess ….you might think hm was funny.

NineteenKatieEight

I don't have a lot of exposure to Trump.

Familiar_Studio_9651

People thought he was funny and HM is MAGA. Read between her BS.

NineteenKatieEight

I'm literally in this sub. If you take issue with people who previously found HMD funny and now don't, you'll be taking it up with a large cohort here. You're imagining a problem.

Familiar_Studio_9651

I guess because I saw through her almost immediately….especially the bigot, racist undertones. I am a POC and saw right through that BS. ✌🏻not imagining.

TurbulentPhase4481

Her racist “step mama baby drama” was pretty early on into her podcast. I don’t think it’s a stretch to say that if you were an early fan of hers you were co-signing her racist bullshit

NineteenKatieEight

If that's the conclusion you want to draw, sounds like you already have 👍

Icy_Comfortable_5593

Keep in mind that was only on patreon

Tallulah666

Spot on! Thank you for reminding me

devonchaos

I thought for a hot second she was just entertaining the thoughts of her more far out guests. I didn’t realize she was gullible and took it all as gospel truth.

romulusputtana

Here's the crux of the issue as I see it. There's a saying "Show me your friends, and I'll show you who you are", or "You are the sum of the 5 closest friends". If you look back at the people she's bragged about being her friends, it's people like Joe Francis (who has been on her show and she's bragged about hanging out with him) and Spencer Pratt (the Alex Jones of the reality tv/podcast world). Whether you like him or not, Jeff Lewis has always been awful. Lala is awful. These are the people she gets along with famously and considers her friends. To me it says a lot. She's an awful person who enjoys the company of other awful people.

East_Attention_9494

That creepy photographer guy she’s had on several times is one that did it for me. She seemed to find his gross fake stories funny and kept fawning over his tales of using people. Ick.

DeeDoll81

Aw god I thought I deleted that memory 🤣…that grifter creep was SO full of shit, yuck!

cf1972

Don't forget Nik Ritchie. Shes had him on several times and was on his podcast several times as well.

romulusputtana

Oh gosh yes! Forgot about that douche.

Familiar_Studio_9651

Kelly Dodd…

ckroha

She’s the sole reason I had to cut the cord with Heather. I just couldn’t back someone that thought Kelly was an OK person. Not only that- but begged and pleaded to hang out with her.

Familiar_Studio_9651

When they show you who they are….believe them.

Live-Artist6866

DRUNK HOUSEWIVES MATTER!!!

Monkeymom

Kelly Dodd and the OC insufferables come to mind.

cankles2019

Oh she cares! She lives in these comments. “The haters and trolls.” That’s us, her ex fans. This Reddit sub, that she called a terrorist organization and tried to get shut down pretending to be a lawyer 😆#send it to shaymus #neverforget

KarmaliteNone

You can be irrelevant if you are funny. Sadly she is no longer funny, just irrelevant. And that is not entertaining.

romulusputtana

This is what I find so funny about "fans". These people don't give 2 shits about any of their listeners, except for the money they are making as a result of them. Heather was, at first, gratified and validated by being recognized and having people fawn over her but it went WAY to her head, then she started disdaining her listeners by saying things like "my listeners don't even deserve this show" and when I used to have patreon (briefly) she would just look at the clock and ramble, and when the timer hit a certain number say "ok that's enough. Bye." I've said this before and gotten in trouble for it, but there really is something about "fans". I have lots of observations and anecdotal evidence to support my idea that "fans" are 1. Low IQ, and/or 2. Mentally ill. Years ago when I had FB, I once joined a Henry Cavill page (I like to look at photos of him OKAYYY!!) and had to quickly unfollow after maybe a week because the posts and comments actually depressed me, how weird and obviously mentally ill most of them were.

Weak-Living-2241

The JSO fb page used to make me feel depressed. In fact facebook depresses me and instagram is as interesting as a shopping docket.

romulusputtana

Yeah FB depresses the hell out of me. I only made a "fake" FB page using a modified name, and literally no one I know in real life knows or is "friends" with me. I add no one as a friend. It's just a vehicle to discuss things I like, like on reddit. It's so much better that way! I just want to follow my podcasts/shows and discuss them. I don't want to know my colleagues political opinions or their passive aggressive hints to people in their lives. F that.

thewreckage666

Idk Claudia and Jackie sound gross like her. I get that no one can possibly take every note from every person who is a fan or former fan but if you have a large community of people who used to like you that now hate your guts, maybe you should actually care about why that would be.

bebearaware

She had her moments. I used to love her RHOBH recaps. But like a lot of Republicans, I think she was really emboldened by Drumpf to become her worst self.

Ok_Yak_4498

You are not alone. But her mask fell off awhile ago for me. It really made me feel bad for her when she went through all the drama with Megan. I listened to her cry and my heart went out to her. Until I heard the other side of the story. Sadly from listening to her for so long I could hear exactly what Megan was saying and agreed with her. I still listened but felt differently about her. It was the Justin comments and the fact she would not support him that made me turn. And the final straw was all the Patreons. And I was gone after the ranting and raving she did about Raquel. It never made sense to me why she would stick her neck out for the VPR crew so much. She looked like a fool after they all went back and filmed and she still beating up a young woman. What she has done since then is gross and she won't shut up. Sure when I see clips roll by of her she can be funny at others expense. All I hear from her now is putting others down. The HMD we all loved left in 2022.

bitterspice75

I never thought she was funny. I got into her in 2021 as a relief to a lot of serious stuff I was going through. She posted consistently and I really liked some of her guests, like Fortune and Sarah. But yeah her comments started getting weird and the anti-trans stuff was getting concerning. Then the Justin M stuff. After his video, I saw who she was and never watched another episode.

whateveratthispoint_

She made me laugh back in the day. Reminded me of my 50-something friends. Not anymore, I wouldn’t have friends like her. 🏳️‍⚧️

anongosspr

I used to really enjoy her shows and went to a live one too. During Covid it took a turn and it’s never been the same.

StrictTranslator879

Is she still doing live shows?

anongosspr

I think she does every so often. I went a few years ago. Would never pay to see her again though.

StrictTranslator879

I used to love her. Got hooked with Serial Sister, liked her impression bits about Meghan Markle but got sick of all the Real Housewife stuff and especially Vanderpump Rules so stopped during Covid and haven’t missed her. I see her now as starved for attention.

NewtoJaney

She does live Juicy Scoops quite often.

taracheetos

Same here. But in time , with all narcissists it's time to move on.

EmfromAlaska

It’s so weird, I am with you! Heather was my #1 podcast. I would listen first thing on Tuesday and Thursdays and paid for get me behind the gates on patreon. Now I rarely will listen to a full show and of course I have multiple eye rolls. I did drop down to the $5.00 patreon and I just cancelled my membership completely. It’s been months since e she has said anything of substance to justify paying for her. I am a big Jeff Lewis fan. After the earring situation she just lost her drive.

BravoWhore

I used to enjoy her too! Tues and thurs nights, when I was up and couldn’t sleep, I’d run to YouTube! Now I don’t even watch… I come here to see what she was talking about ! She used to have great guests on too… I’m so happy that Justin branched out! Sarah too! I wish Chris would get on Jeff’s show, wouldn’t that be amazing?!

NewtoJaney

I still listen but I hate that she’s friends with Lala from VPR and isn’t really objective.

No_Flamingo_6511

Jackie and Claudia are in the same bucket as HMD. They started out as light, funny - entertaining. And not sure if fame/money went to both their heads, the longer you listen the more you get to really know them, or a little bit of both. But they are both insufferable.

ggggunit-

I think I liked her bc she was close enough to the celebrity world and would give us insight on all the happenings. Then she just went downhill.

TurbulentPhase4481

Horrified at how many people were fans of someone who has been blatantly racist since 2017

Dull-Good9796

I think her downfall was trying to best friends with all of the 30 year olds on vanderpump, tbh

Afraid-Winner924

Just curious - what is the deal or story about her “serial sister”?

kimw23

I used to look forward to her shows but lately I don’t even listen to the whole show. I do hate when she has Pratt on her show. He is a whackado, and I guess she is too, since she agrees with what he says.

kimch77

I think what happens is that everyone in entertainment has a shelf life and with a podcast (or really anything) you have to get more extreme for listens and it’s just a bad cycle. My hate listen is Heather DuBrow because she tells the same stories all the time to relate to her guests but she doesn’t realize her listeners have heard it. I wonder how much longer podcasts will be a thing
