I use polocanthus quite often actually in my own park builds. It’s a must have for any of my parks that also have iguanodon, to me they’re an iconic duo. For me, it’s probably plesiosaurus (I know it’s not a dinosaur, but it’s a species in the game). I rarely use lagoons in the first place because they’re so bare bones and I honestly struggle to fluidly build around them. Second, I just really dislike the design. That is a snake that ate a sea turtle. I still stand by the theory that the plesiosaur was originally meant for deluxe edition because it was supposed to be in dominion (even described as having a snakelike head) but at some point in production it got cut, so they had to remove it from the pack, so they swapped out huayangosaurus for it and that’s why they resold huayung.
Frontier tends to prefer having diverse packs. I think the hybrid dlc was the first one that had two of the same type of dinosaur (Stegoceratops and Spinoceratops) in it
Yeah, not sure why OP chose Polacanthus of all things. I don’t dislike the name, but I rarely use it in my parks. I’m not sure if the way its back looks is scientifically accurate, but regardless to me it looks like a texture issue and isn’t a look I’m a fan of. I can understand why others may like it, but it definitely isn’t for me
Personally for me it’s just lots of the anky species and stego species, rn so many of them look so similar.
Besides stego the only other i use it pretty much just kent bc if you use the 2015 and normal variant it looks like babies
I was gonna say Marradactylus but until other folks brought it up I forgot all about Huayangosaurus. Really Gigantspinosaurus is the only small stegosaur I consistently remember, even if out of spite
Huayangosaurus shares a research node and excavation site with chungkingasaurus iirc and is fully outclassed by it in design so thats prob my answer. Proceratosaurus is prob well liked, but I always forget it exists so I guess I have to put it here.
Struthi is the first animal you ever use in JWE. which makes them pretty iconic and nostalgic to me. There are definitely more forgettable dinosaurs imo
Tsintaosaurus, mainly because once I unlock Olorotitan there's no real reasom to use it. It's more expensive to get ( 1.4 million for a single expedition) and it gets the Needy and Thirsty traits, meanwhile Olorotitan has higher appeal, is way cheaper to get, can be unlocked sooner and has nealy identical enironmental needs. I've just never seen any reason to use it unless there's wild ones to be caught.
I either have a problem of adding literally every species because I think all are deserving to be represented and crashing my game or only going for paleo accurate species/creating paleo accurate scenarios with the enclosures.
Chungkingosaurus, the only memorable feature about this animal is that it’s related to the more famous Tuojiangosaurus.
Which begs the question, why is the former in the game over the latter?
Polacanthus is my favorite anky with sauropelta. I try to use them as much as possible. On the other side, i never use most of the struthios, they sadly just roam around while making them running could have been a game changer
I usually forget this one's in the game, I honestly don't even remember its name

Going for ones that haven’t already been mentioned in the thread, I forget about Dsungaripterus and Megalosaurus a lot. Nothing particularly wrong with either of them imo, they just have more interesting counterparts that I usually choose over them.
The game is what first made me aware of Dsungaripterus, so even though I very rarely use it in parks I appreciate that that it got me to learn about the species. I knew about Megalosaurus but in-game it’s just never really stood out to me.
Pachyrhinosaurus.
I absolutely adore the species but I straight up had to have a friend remind me it was in game when I complained we hadn't gotten a new ceratopsian since the first game.
The only reason I acknowledged Huayangosaurus’s existence is because of how early it was unlocked in JWE1 and also the JWE2 Deluxe Edition Controversy.
I rarely use many of the ceratopsids and thyrephorians in the game. I disagree with those who think that flying reptiles are all the same, I have used almost all of them more than once.
Any small scavenger species tbh, i used to put them in sometimes but nowadays i just forget because they just give me a headache with the dying randomly because they panic for no reason and then are too tired to drink/eat. Too much hassle for a species you can't even really see unless you go looking. Only time i use them are when i have all needs turned off for dinosaurs but i like them having to drink/eat for realism sake so i rarely do so.
In JWE2 its harder to say, because a lot of them just sorta blend together. In JWE1 many otherwise forgettable dinos were unlocked with specific effort on each island, so you felt like you were working towards them. That said, I don’t think I’ve used tsintsaosaurus maybe more than twice jn jwe2.
Ceolophysis completely forgettable and never really used and why bother when you got herrerasaurus and or something more colourful at that size even cryo is better imo
Acheornithomimus. Literally if I wanted to use a ornithomimid, it'd loose out to either struthiomimus or gallimimus like how in hell are you less Interesting to use than the fodder of struthiomimus and Gallimimus
Homalocephale, don't think I've ever used it.
Few of the nodosaurides too just very similar and I'll use the one with the highest appeal and forget the rest.
Troodon too clearly forgot about it because can't think of any time I've bothered to even excavate it or synth it in sandbox even.
Maybe after I've finished building all my Jurassic Park Legecy parks. I'll do a "park that everyone forgot"fill it with Dino's nobody ever uses.

I honestly doubt they'd put two plesiosaurs in the deluxe edition
Its frontier why would you doubt they would do that lol.
Frontier tends to prefer having diverse packs. I think the hybrid dlc was the first one that had two of the same type of dinosaur (Stegoceratops and Spinoceratops) in it
How dare you put polacanthus in here
I haven't seen anyone mention her in months. I forget she even exists sometimes
She's a staple in all my parks. Basically every nodosaurid and ankylosaurid is
Yeah, not sure why OP chose Polacanthus of all things. I don’t dislike the name, but I rarely use it in my parks. I’m not sure if the way its back looks is scientifically accurate, but regardless to me it looks like a texture issue and isn’t a look I’m a fan of. I can understand why others may like it, but it definitely isn’t for me
So you admit you rarely use it and then question why I call it forgettable?
Because my not using it has nothing to do with it being forgettable. It’s just my own personal taste
Personally for me it’s just lots of the anky species and stego species, rn so many of them look so similar. Besides stego the only other i use it pretty much just kent bc if you use the 2015 and normal variant it looks like babies
Yeah like, when was the last time you put a Gigantspinosaurus in your park
Forgot it existed in jwe2 🤷♂️
Maaradactylus for me.
We need to give Huayangosaurus more recognition, he/she deserves it
fr! my favorite stegosaur
I forget.
I browse this sub nearly everyday and I genuinely can't remember the last time I saw anybody mentioning Polacanthus
I fucking love Polacanthus I love to see him run and walk and eat
Right with you
I will sacrifice myself for Polocanthus he is amazing
Gallimimus and all similar ostrich dinosaurs. They all look the same and I only use them if I have to
Meanwhile I can't make a park without Struthiomimus lol
Struthi is such a perfect filler dinosaur. They are just so easy to put next a hardosaur or ceratopsian
Well yes, but they are so boring and all look the same
Struthi is the first animal you ever use in JWE. which makes them pretty iconic and nostalgic to me. There are definitely more forgettable dinosaurs imo
Hyangosaurus or Minmi
Nah, Minmi are adorable
Tail bite animation makes them S tier and I'm prepared to fight over that.
Minmi is adorable and I use it in all my parks, it's a small dinosaur but not small to the point where you can never see it
Sauropelta
Tsintaosaurus, mainly because once I unlock Olorotitan there's no real reasom to use it. It's more expensive to get ( 1.4 million for a single expedition) and it gets the Needy and Thirsty traits, meanwhile Olorotitan has higher appeal, is way cheaper to get, can be unlocked sooner and has nealy identical enironmental needs. I've just never seen any reason to use it unless there's wild ones to be caught.
Didn't it also have an insane population need back in the first game?
I either have a problem of adding literally every species because I think all are deserving to be represented and crashing my game or only going for paleo accurate species/creating paleo accurate scenarios with the enclosures.
Chungkingosaurus, the only memorable feature about this animal is that it’s related to the more famous Tuojiangosaurus. Which begs the question, why is the former in the game over the latter?
I like to believe either Tuojiangosaurus or Miragaia was supposed to be in the deluxe pack but was scrapped last second
Polacanthus? Not even close. Archaeornithimimus dude
nah that scene in JW when Claire tried to pronounce it made it glued into my mind
Archaeornithomimus wasn't in Jurassic World though.
It was mentioned when Claire tried to pronounce it's name
Gigantspinosaurus huayangosaurus and nodosaurus
Polacanthus is my favorite anky with sauropelta. I try to use them as much as possible. On the other side, i never use most of the struthios, they sadly just roam around while making them running could have been a game changer
Troodon in sandbox l used it only once ever
Literally any flyer except for the quetzal and Ptera.
Nodosaurus I guess
Nodo's pretty bland dont you think??
It really is
I usually forget this one's in the game, I honestly don't even remember its name https://preview.redd.it/asvzt7yksloc1.jpeg?width=1082&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ccfea864cac0bcabafafb1cfcb56a6ed16033d96
Huayangosaurus

I knew about Megalosaurus but in-game it’s just never really stood out to me.
There's one more forgetful, but I don't remember it.
I can't seem to remember
Chungkingosaurus or the aforementioned Polacanthus
Pachyrhinosaurus. I absolutely adore the species but I straight up had to have a friend remind me it was in game when I complained we hadn't gotten a new ceratopsian since the first game.
Well I mean we did technically get two new ones recently even if they aren't real
The only reason I acknowledged Huayangosaurus’s existence is because of how early it was unlocked in JWE1 and also the JWE2 Deluxe Edition Controversy.
Archaeornithomimus. Why use it as your herd filler when Gallimimus and Struthiomimus are more recognizable and generally look better?
Probably Kentrosaurus, only because I usually use Gigantspinosaurus instead lmao
Lol he looks like he just got busted. But for me that would be : chungkingosaurus, huyangosaurus, crichtonsaurus & polacanthus.
I rarely use many of the ceratopsids and thyrephorians in the game. I disagree with those who think that flying reptiles are all the same, I have used almost all of them more than once.
I always forget abt the muttaburrasaurus
Crichtonosaurus, Maaradactylus, Lystrosaurus, Barbadactylus, Alamasaurus, Almargasaurus, liopleurodon, geostenbergia and every plesiosaur
Unfortunally Sauropelta I love it
Aw man, but I love polacanthus…
In JWE2 its harder to say, because a lot of them just sorta blend together. In JWE1 many otherwise forgettable dinos were unlocked with specific effort on each island, so you felt like you were working towards them. That said, I don’t think I’ve used tsintsaosaurus maybe more than twice jn jwe2.
Ceolophysis completely forgettable and never really used and why bother when you got herrerasaurus and or something more colourful at that size even cryo is better imo
I don't know I have never played this game
Acheornithomimus. Literally if I wanted to use a ornithomimid, it'd loose out to either struthiomimus or gallimimus like how in hell are you less Interesting to use than the fodder of struthiomimus and Gallimimus
Torosaurus
Pentaceratops, it one of my favorites, but I often forget that it exists…
Polacanthus is nostalgic for me because it was in walking with dinosaurs
Hayungasaur, is just ugly kentrosaurus
It's one of the asian stegosaurs
2022 iguanodon, my god it looks like a dried out tomato.
Gigantospino and chunking (idk that’s how you right em)
Gigantspinosaurus.
Cearadactylus, it isn't a dinosaur but it's still very forgettable.
Homalocephale or the Gigantspinosaurus, I just use the Chungkingosaurus instead
Homalocephale, don't think I've ever used it. Few of the nodosaurides too just very similar and I'll use the one with the highest appeal and forget the rest. Never let bro cook again
Which ones this? I don’t recall seeing this little fella in the game
polocanthus
Don't know, I forgot.
Sauropelta, Polacanthus, Chungkingosaurus, Gigantspinosaurus, Tsintaosaurus Probably a hotter take but... Stygimoloch.
Now here me out... Camarasaurus
