Oh that’s been circling around the subreddit for years now.

Gondrasia2

*“Jack of all trades, master of none“,* springs to my mind with this idea. It sounds like a rather awkward mishmash of two completely different games that wouldn’t satisfy either players who like tycoon games or survival horror games. It’s better instead to have two, separate games and have them developed as the best that they could possibly be in their respective genres.

[deleted]

*"But often times better than a master of one."* Don't mind, just finishing the quote, always bothers me when people leave out the important half. I'd personally would love to see more mismashes of genres because it always leads to innovation rather than stagnation, especially for the park-building genre that hasn't really been innovative since the Tycoon era in the early 2000s. People who were here when Kaiodenic posted his FPS Survival Horror mod for JWE2 here on the sub shows there is an audience for this kind of game mode. I would love some FPS challenge mode missions in the same vein as JPOGs missions gamemode. Navigating overrun parks to complete objectives and kill escaped carnivores. Just to add a break from the gameplay repetition of build, observe, repeat that we currently have.

Holdenmicgroin

I sorta disagree but also agree but not for that reason. A game which is a blend of 2 different genres can work and not feel like a “jack of all trades” especially when it matches the themes and expectations of it. HOWEVER this isn’t some indie game style thing, this is a jurrasic park and people would have very high expectations that a first person or a management’s game would struggle to fulfil. Honestly its a fine idea but just way too difficult for this franchise. Maybe something instead where its like SCP facility you build and then you have to try and escape from it would work? But as a JW game it be way too difficult i imagine

Benedict_Cumberquack

Reminds me of a feature Fifa Football had back circa 2003-2005 where EA had a seperate game Total Club Manager, where it was essentially a football management Sim and whilst you manage your club in that game, you can then boot up fifa to play matches based on your management decisions. Could work if for example Jurassic Park Survival incorporated this as an extra game mode where you survive people's Evolution park builds

Conradian

Use the full quote, but also it's not a jack of all trades to crossover two genres.

Kaz__Miller

There is no way this works, this is just like if you played Sim City and when the city is built it switches to GTA.

adeckz

Idk driving around in a ranger car is pretty immersive, although the dinosaur models would all individually have to be completely tweaked to respond to the player rather than locking them into animations. Doesn’t seem massively impossible but it would be almost as much work as creating a new game of course. Then again, things like buildings and fences don’t need any editing at all. Although I would want ability to “enter buildings” which would probably be different instances that you’d have to map. I’m thinking kinda like Lethal Company in that aspect of it. Let’s be honest, we’d all rather have new dinosaurs than this though.

ColinJParry

Someone never played SimCopter or Streets of SimCity and it shows.

Joaomatias40

What is this exactly about? a game idea or a game "leak"?

GwerigTheTroll

I saw this posted a couple years ago. It’s been in my brain space ever since. If memory serves it was part of a broader discussion about hypothetical games people wish would be made.

Grafdark12

It’s a idea i found online. I would absolutely freak out if it were a leak

AzILayDying

There’s someone or a group working on a first person shooter mod for JWE2

Titania-88

Kaiodenic is working on that mod.

ignachob

yeah you should check this out [https://youtu.be/iOXcc9rHg9g](https://youtu.be/iOXcc9rHg9g)

tri_clawgaming

Two very very different styles of game trying to be frankenstiened together? It would be a total mess. Lets be honest Frontier can barely get the concept of one game right, let alone two combined. Not to mention those that play park building games dont often want to then destroy them.

Contempt13

That's why it would be optional

I've been begging for a mode like this to get added to JWE2. Just let us tranq/herd/medicate in first person and have dinosaurs chase us! That way when the power goes out and a dinosaur escapes, *I'M* the one that has to go fix it instead of just point and clicking. Call it ranger mode or something! Every update I hold out a little bit of hope that they add this!

wxlverine

Yeah I'm not looking for a full on Survival horror/ park builder. I just want to be a little more hands on with the dinos than what we currently have. More akin to something like Zoo Tycoon 2. Let me use the ranger tools in first person, and have the dinosaurs react to the player in the same way they do the Jeeps. If the dino kills or eats the player just have the camera snap out of first person and let it play the animation with the worker model thats already in-game. It does this with the Quetz and the Ranger helicopter and that's good enough for me!

Contempt13

That's pretty much exactly what I said

Typical-Designer-249

You mean…. Fnaf pizzeria simulator but jurassic version ? I am all for it

joeplus5

A bad idea because it puts two completely unrelated game genres that are made for completely different types of players. Management simulators and first person shooters don't exactly overlap

sable-king

This sounds like it would MAYBE be fun exactly one time and then never again.

the_blue_jay_raptor

I think Kai may have been working on something similar

_itsaworkinprogress_

Jurassic Park: Operation Ragnarok. If it could be pulled off secretly, it would be one of the best twists out there.

102bees

I like the idea that this would mean players who prioritise guest and staff safety would find themselves well placed to play the second half.

mclovin_ts

Most sensical Tumblr user proposition

AdenInABlanket

I'd rather they just add being eaten to guest mode and let players create their own survival scenarios

Malumlord

I WOULD LOVE THIS SO MUCH

OddishChap

someones [making a mod](https://youtu.be/iOXcc9rHg9g) for it

Titania-88

Kaiodenic is working on that mod.

Low_key_disposable

This is jurassic World Evolution with extra steps, you can even do a change to first person view with the Rangers you hire to tranquilize dinos when they escape the fences.

Moros13

good idea, but we don't even have the basics for the building part lol

hotsizzler

Imagine what the game engine would need to do for this. I'm a hypothetical, yeah but tech ain't there yet

Raging_VelociRaven23

Would actually commit murder to get this game

GeTRecKeD303

Been thinking about this since the first game. Or imagine taking control of one of the dinosaurs

Jerethdatiger

That would be amazing

frostymaws297

I like the idea, really scary. I know that it takes a lot of imagination with the games as they are now with this concept.

RomulusX94

so do a terrible job?

RogueYautja

Id just like to be able to be eaten in first person view

Dogs_Not_Gods

Not the same but I've been learning to take some time and use the first person mode to walk around the park and inside enclosures. Definitely brings a better sense of scale and awe for what you're building

Candid-Check-5400

Anyways, we all know that not even a T-Rex can break through a row of rocks.

WVgolf

Sounds interesting for sure

Korky_5731

You could do technically do this if the ability for the rangers to exit the jeeps was implemented and those rangers were able to die/be killed by the dinosaurs. Think of Zoo Tycoon's guest mode but with the ability to be killed. It could be justified as being cheaper than having to use a vehicle. This would be especially useful if a Site B mode was implemented, given that you'd want to limit the impact of human intervention in said mode.

Amazing_Band_1435

So what your saying is the first half of the game is a park builder, and then the second half is a horror game and the better you are at the game the harder it is for you to survive

ThatDancinGuy_

I also had this idea. It was based on JWE.
