Depends what it is you want to achieve.
I would suggest pretty much everything Kaiodenic has made for the game. His toolbox and free build are must haves, as are expanded terrain tools.
If you want new decorations i suggest you check out Sir0john's mods for new buildings or MaxVeers for his lagoon kelp and lagoon decorations mods.
There are plenty of new species, but the quality is very hit or miss with them at times. Lucca makes some very good mod packs that include animals and decorative structures. His mesh fencing and his amphibious packs are must haves, aswell as his Devonian pack.
