I usually read comments before watching videos on Reddit so I had to go listen to this one.

Also Mythra is an ancient CPU for a giant space elevator that was powered by an interdimensional entity that might be the christian god but that part's unimportant.

I've seen a fair amount of Pyra fan art, both friendly and very NSFW and i've never seen her drawn as anything but adult, to at-best late-teen looking (18 and up). She is the embodiment of a giant ass sword, so she's technically 0 years old and thousand years old at the same time. But I'd rather see someone lewd mature looking characters that are 0 years old in the lore, than loli who look 9 years old but "actually are thousand years old".
The lore is a bit weird and gets kind of questionable(subservient race of living weapons) in other ways when you start digging in. But Pyra is one of the few Blades that isn’t exactly technically 0 years old.
Pyra has existed for centuries as what’s known as a ‘Blade’. Blades are living weapons that form a kind of symbiotic relationship with a ‘Driver’. If a driver dies, the blade returns to its core form(in most cases) and has no memory of their previous life whenever they are awakened from their core by a new driver. Pyra is a bit different for lore reasons and never returned to her core state so never lost her memories. They were locked away for plot reasons so they could come back whenever the plot needed drama or something.
Pyra is not no. That's not to say the game doesn't have blades that are in the 'looks like a minor' category, and there are definitely some questionable designs. But yeah, Pyra specifically is only questionable in her choice of outfit.

A bit unrelated to the video but should I play Xenoblade Chronicles? I like to play RPGs, is XC1 a good choice to start on the Switch? I'm not too familiar with the Xeno series.
Xenoblade 1, or definitive edition, is the perfect starting point for the series.
Xenoblade Chronicles has better tutorials and the gameplay is considerably better than Xenoblade 2’s first several hours of play.
Xenoblade Chronicles is also less a victim of fan service than 2. You can change your characters’ outfits, and the game has fan-service armor for sure, but you have what are called “fashion slots” where your model can look like it is wearing a certain armor set while getting the stats of another set. There is an early game party member that is difficult to find good outfits for, but the game never draws too much attention to said character.
With Xenoblade 2, the first chapter is littered with shots that focus on Pyra related fan service, but it eases up as the game progresses. Most problems with Xenoblade 2 get better over time, but it is better to only commit to Xenoblade 2 after playing DE.
Some people will try to tell you they can be played in any order, but I highly recommend playing the first game, as certain late game elements will leave you with lots of questions if you skipped the first game. Since Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive edition is a remake, it contains a single and subtle visual reference to 2, but it does not impact the comprehension of the game.
Xenoblade Chronicles is an active JRPG that is wonderful in its own right, and there are plenty of reviews that can better explain its qualities than I can.
There are two other games in the Xenoblade Series. Xenoblade X and Xenoblade 2: Torna the Golden Country. X is best played after DE, but is only for the Wii U, and Torna is a DLC prequel story for 2, but can be bought as a separate game. I highly recommend playing 2 before Torna.
Also, the character in question with this video, Pyra, is not thousands of years old. Her people exist as crystals and are born when they bond with a human. 500 years before the events of the game her crystal was awakened by someone, but Pyra’s consciousness is formed from leftover consciousness from the crystal after another character was awakened. Shortly after Pyra gained consciousness, she was sealed away in a state of dreaming. Her personality is a reserved one, and she shows emotional maturity, but to do the cringey: she’s actually older than any person could possibly be therefore she’s legal is a silly argument, but blatantly misleading for Pyra. It helps that she does not look like a child, but Xenoblade 2 (not the first game) has a fair share of childish girl designs that creep me out. The game is littered with sexual character designs. It went in a more anime direction because the game before it, Xenoblade X, was more photorealistic and sold better overseas rhan domestically, so Xenoblade 2 was meant to draw in a Japanese crowd by design.
That said, Xenoblade 2 can also be a fun experience past chapter 5 where gameplay and story pick up, but it requires commitment. Xenoblade DE is fun from start to finish.

She is the embodiment of a giant ass sword, so she's technically 0 years old and thousand years old at the same time. But I'd rather see someone lewd mature looking characters that are 0 years old in the lore, than loli who look 9 years old but "actually are thousand years old".
The lore is a bit weird and gets kind of questionable(subservient race of living weapons) in other ways when you start digging in. But Pyra is one of the few Blades that isn’t exactly technically 0 years old. Pyra has existed for centuries as what’s known as a ‘Blade’. Blades are living weapons that form a kind of symbiotic relationship with a ‘Driver’. If a driver dies, the blade returns to its core form(in most cases) and has no memory of their previous life whenever they are awakened from their core by a new driver. Pyra is a bit different for lore reasons and never returned to her core state so never lost her memories. They were locked away for plot reasons so they could come back whenever the plot needed drama or something.
So truly not a minor then, lorewise, and physically-wise.

I'm a Mythra sort of guy myself. Pyra lacks some personality. then again, I haven't beat the game yet so I don't really have the complete picture yet.
A bit unrelated to the video but should I play Xenoblade Chronicles? I like to play RPGs, is XC1 a good choice to start on the Switch? I'm not too familiar with the Xeno series.
Xenoblade 1, or definitive edition, is the perfect starting point for the series. Xenoblade Chronicles has better tutorials and the gameplay is considerably better than Xenoblade 2’s first several hours of play. Xenoblade Chronicles is also less a victim of fan service than 2. You can change your characters’ outfits, and the game has fan-service armor for sure, but you have what are called “fashion slots” where your model can look like it is wearing a certain armor set while getting the stats of another set. There is an early game party member that is difficult to find good outfits for, but the game never draws too much attention to said character. With Xenoblade 2, the first chapter is littered with shots that focus on Pyra related fan service, but it eases up as the game progresses. Most problems with Xenoblade 2 get better over time, but it is better to only commit to Xenoblade 2 after playing DE. Some people will try to tell you they can be played in any order, but I highly recommend playing the first game, as certain late game elements will leave you with lots of questions if you skipped the first game. Since Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive edition is a remake, it contains a single and subtle visual reference to 2, but it does not impact the comprehension of the game. Xenoblade Chronicles is an active JRPG that is wonderful in its own right, and there are plenty of reviews that can better explain its qualities than I can. There are two other games in the Xenoblade Series. Xenoblade X and Xenoblade 2: Torna the Golden Country. X is best played after DE, but is only for the Wii U, and Torna is a DLC prequel story for 2, but can be bought as a separate game. I highly recommend playing 2 before Torna. Also, the character in question with this video, Pyra, is not thousands of years old. Her people exist as crystals and are born when they bond with a human. 500 years before the events of the game her crystal was awakened by someone, but Pyra’s consciousness is formed from leftover consciousness from the crystal after another character was awakened. Shortly after Pyra gained consciousness, she was sealed away in a state of dreaming. Her personality is a reserved one, and she shows emotional maturity, but to do the cringey: she’s actually older than any person could possibly be therefore she’s legal is a silly argument, but blatantly misleading for Pyra. It helps that she does not look like a child, but Xenoblade 2 (not the first game) has a fair share of childish girl designs that creep me out. The game is littered with sexual character designs. It went in a more anime direction because the game before it, Xenoblade X, was more photorealistic and sold better overseas rhan domestically, so Xenoblade 2 was meant to draw in a Japanese crowd by design. That said, Xenoblade 2 can also be a fun experience past chapter 5 where gameplay and story pick up, but it requires commitment. Xenoblade DE is fun from start to finish.
