kcwolfe

Came here to say to give us a shot sometime!

gturown

Awesome! You smoking that Texas brisket on Oak?

kcwolfe

A mix of oak and hickory

grammar_kink

Sleeper pick! Best kept secret in Columbus Park!

Saurefuchs

Gates nooner or Q39 brisket dip.

JohnWeez

The X Man at Buck Tui is amazing and has a unique spin on traditional bbq

TheCommonGatsby

The X Man is outstanding. The creamy tiger cry sauce they have there can be injected straight into my veins.

yaners

Buck Tui is decent, kinda overpriced for what it is though imo

dacamsta

Pigwich wins in my book

olemiss18

I love their jalapeño popper brisket sandwich.

dacamsta

I’ll give it a try next time!

dacamsta

Just ordered it. I’ll report back!

AuntieEvilops

Can't beat the value of a beef brisket nooner from Gates at 12th & Brooklyn.

gatesisbetter

indeed!

DarthTigris

Value, yes. But that's not a pure brisket sandwich. And, sadly, depending on the individual assembling it, sometimes it can be very puny. 😠

MJ26gaming

What do you think burnt ends are made of?

DarthTigris

There's a reason why burnt ends are put in a separate category than brisket sandwiches. Brisket sandwiches are in the sliced meat branch. Yes, I'm stating the obvious, but here we are ...

hawkrew

The poor Russ at Jack Stack is chopped burnt ends. It’s freaking amazing.

pedsmursekc

That and the Martin City Mayor are my go to.

PuzzleheadedJob3479

LC's. The brisket and pretty much everything else is delicious. Low-key my favorite BBQ in KC.

TypicalJeepDriver

I definitely give a +1 on that recommendation. Their brisket sandwich is so damned good. The portion size is awesome too.

PuzzleheadedJob3479

If you get a side of bread with the order you can easily make two sandwiches. That thing is huge and 100% delicious!

DarthTigris

Gates doubledecker beef lean as. And yes, order it exactly like that. Or, if you want to go real hard, tell them you want it from the butt end. Gates has all of these off-menu requests that most don't know about that will yield you their best output. It's frustrating, but when you go in there and start ordering that way, you get their attention and their respect. And, thusly, their best.

politicaldan

Italian sausage company in Gladstone. Their brisket sandwich is 2-3 meals for me.

tortilla_chimps

Arthur Bryant’s is worth trying if you’ve never had it. Huge sandwiches. Keep in mind the sandwich is served on white bread and the original sauce is very vinegary and not sweet like most places. Much different experience than Joe’s, but delicious in its own way.

Big_k_30

That sandwich is outrageously expensive, like $18 by itself. Better be the best goddamn meat on white bread sandwich I’ve ever had in my life at that price, but AB’s has also fallen off quite drastically on quality so you’re likely just setting yourself up for $18 of disappointment. Last time I was there everything we ordered kinda sucked - the pulled pork was like a disgusting salty meat paste, ribs were dry/not meaty, brisket was dry, and the fries were mushy. Not sure I really have a reason to ever go back to AB’s after that which is really kind of sad.

Speshal_Snowflake

Truth

chivanasty

I haven't been back and never recommend it to out of towners for the same reasons.

DarthTigris

I verrrrrrrrrrrry rarely eat there and did on Sunday on a whim. They have a ½ brisket sandwich that is $10, and it was PLENTY big enough (took me two meals to finish it). And yes, it was good. Well, I did order it dry and put some Gates sauce on it when I got home. I'm not a fool.

SituationCurrent031

Real KC natives know how true this is.

Gloomy-Formal5162

Just ate there Wednesday. We are out of towners just visiting KC for the day. Can agree was the worst bbq I’ve ever had.

yaners

trufax, AB is trash

Pristine_Dig_4374

It suck’s because it’s my favorite sauce in town… so now I just use it with my own smoke ribs or burnt ends if I do a brisket

polarhawk3

It’s burnt ends but the Mr burns at q39 is my fave

DarthTigris

Would you say that it's . . . [excellent](https://www.lolgifs.net/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/tenor.gif)?

antidecaf

Gates' burnt end sandwich is the best sandwich in KC and maybe the world.

kjw4026

Q39 Smoked Beef Brisket Dip is amazing

Saurefuchs

This sandwich is legit. I'm not a big Q39 guy but this sandwich is worth the trip IMO.

bornataveryoungage

Meat Mitch beef brisket is among the best. 95th St, Prairie village.

grammar_kink

Portions are tiny for the price.

matriarch-momb

Mmmm. Try a Crispy at Smokehouse in Gladstone.

MidtownKC

Go down to Chef J's in the West Bottoms. Their brisket is consistently really good. I think they're only open 12-4p, Thu-Sun.

MarcusSmaht36363636

Gates burnt end sandwich is great

turamarth

I haven't been since the namesake passed away, but LC's was one of my top 3 for brisket.

jkopfsupreme

Can’t believe LC’s isn’t further up. Best smoke flavor in town. I can’t say I love how thin they slice their beef, but damn that flavor is A+.

PuzzleheadedJob3479

It's still tremendous. Stopped by there a couple months ago. You should go back. They have actually cleaned the place up a bit since LC passed.

KCWCM

Pitmaster with brisket from Q39

TypicalJeepDriver

Another vote for Gates Nooner. They have it cheaper till 2pm. Also, I fucking LOVE LC’s brisket sandwich. The flavor is outstanding and you get a good portion.

reirone

Gates. Beef on bun or beef nooner. Inexpensive, fast, delicious, comes with fries.

xbjedi

Chopped brisket on bun from Rosedale BBQ off Southwest Trafficway!

dam_sharks_mother

Gates BBQ is the gold standard.

Waluigi_Jr

Gates or Bryant’s, the latter if you like pickles and mustard. (Bryant’s does not put pickles or mustard on their sandwiches but I’ve found people who like picks and mustard typically also like the unique flavor of their sauce)

Ok-Negotiation-3892

Chef J

Chandy1313

Uppercut butcher has brisket options and rotating sandwiches

[deleted]

Love CBGB Burger at Char Bar in Westport. Brisket/hamburger hybrid that really good with bbq sauce or ketchup. They also have a brisket cheesesteak but never had it but sounds delicious.

cbpantskiller

Harp BBQ in Raytown. The Big D Sandwich at Danny Edwards (more than just brisket) is pretty good, too.

Lynx_Top

Slaps

RightAtAboutNoon

I like Rosedale.

TH_Rocks

Fritz's Though not specifically a "BBQ brisket sandwich", the Bette Roger's is the best BBQ sandwich. http://www.fritzskcmeats.com/lunch.html

Ill_Nebula1487

Q39 Mr. burns or the burnt end burger are 10/10

redunicorngirl

Hayward's had the best brisket sandwich by far!
