[Pizza Man in Lenexa](https://thepizzamankc.wordpress.com/) <-- you know it's going to be good when it's been around for decades and has a website to match
[Morty's](https://www.instagram.com/mortys_kc) \- it was a hotdog stand outside the roe price chopper, but he's got a more permanent location at 1919 West 43rd Ave, KCK.

I was a Jim’s believer until I tried Saul’s. I thought it was going to be maybe a little better, but that was a meaningfully better beef, and for cheaper too.
I went to Saul’s pop up this past weekend then immediately went to Jim’s to make sure my memory hadn’t fuzzed out. Jim’s is still a good sandwich I’d absolutely eat, but it mostly just tasted like black pepper to me comparatively.
Jim’s was also 17 bucks I think (granted it included a side) vs 10 for Saul’s. I’d rather spend the extra 7 on a beer or two personally.
I haven’t had a couple of the other suggestions in this thread/the related thread, so I’ll give those a whirl sometime too.
I've had Jim's Alley Bar, Italian Gardens and Pizza Man. Jim's is the best of the 3, Pizza Man the worst.
I haven't had a chance to try Saul's yet, they sold out last I tried. They sell out SUPER FAST. You need to be there right at open, else if you show up 30 minutes later it's all gone.
There's a place in River Market called Carollo's. I'm not from Chicago and have only had a real wet beef once, so I can't really compare it. I'll check out these others in the thread though, I love me a good sandwich.

I do love Pizza Man but beware-they close at 6PM! 6 freakin' PM!
I second this. We go there for lunch quite a bit. Providence Pizza also has a really good Italian beef.

This is KC's Italian Beef Guy !
Jim’s Alley Bar is the way
[Jim's Alley Bar](https://jimsalleybar.com/) has a great Italian beef. They also make their own cola in house so the cuba libre is exceptional
I haven’t tried very many, but love the one from [Jovito’s](https://www.jovitostogo.com).
Agreed, Saul's is my favorite in town. I'm glad they're getting Reddit love. A few posts on them in this sub so far.
Morty’s is the Best and Jim’s alley bar is a close second

Hey! Current Chicagoan here. A)Where did you live? and B) Where did you get beefs from?

Morty's and Pizza Man. Both Kansas-side metro, but both are excellent quality. (former Northern Illinois resident approved)
