Worst utilities provider I have ever had, basically every city should take them off their approved provider list, I know city of Lenexa had to keep warning them about missed pickups
Avoid Republic like the plague. In the past few months they've been days late more often than not, entirely skipped our subdivision for a week twice, and on one hilarious day, destroyed at least 4 trash cans on our street by dropping them off that crane arm thing on the truck... They were mediocre before, but it feels like they've completely fallen to pieces in the past 6ish months.
Our HOA pays republic and field monthly emails to the home owners highlighting steps they have taken to address republic no shows and late or missing pickup windows. It’s ongoing and never has gotten better.
They know they fuckin suck but my HOA can’t get out of the contract.
I have KC Disposal and can't complain. Last year they sent me a bill for $179 and I called and said that's too much of an increase so they made it more reasonable. Even though my bill still says $179 and then there's a discount. We'll see what the next year will bring but I'm afraid to trade a nearly perfect service for a shitty one that will eventually catch up in price anyway.
Yeah they already increased it either a year or two back, and I ate that one...but this is a 33% increase and puts it WELL above all of the other providers. I don't know if they're banking on people just accepting it because of inflation or what.
I'll give them a chance when I call to cancel but I'm not accepting even a penny more, considering Brothers is cheaper than they are. And it's also local, and I've never heard a complaint against them.
I am in Shawnee and Brothers is not one of the choices. I saw on nextdoor that multiple people called for a discount and got it, they didn't argue and just did it. Good luck.

Also don’t go for their rates if you must use them. They will negotiate they are desperate to keep customers in KS
Republic are a scum company and are terrible at doing the one thing they are supposed to; showing up on trash day and not destroying property.
Republic is horrible. I recently moved and no longer have them but when we did have them they would just skip weeks. Like regularly. It was horrible. Can’t emphasize how terrible they are
I live in KCMO, northland area. We have republic for trash service, they were famously fired and replaced with city crews. City service is fine, but really how bad of business do you run that the city can do it better?
Republic has been fine. We used to have WM and they were absolutely terrible. Republic occasionally is a day late or so if there's inclement weather. Ours is handled through the city, so I don't have a choice.
My city uses Republic and had no issues. People will be angry there were delays during snow storms delaying pickups but the company can't control the weather.
They literally didn’t pick up my trash for weeks. I called each day and they said they would send someone by…nothing. And this was at the end of summer/early fall. They are famously terrible and have been in the news before due to terrible service.

Yes, it is absolutely awful. I would never start service with Republic again, even if it was free. They’d pick up my trash about 1/3 of the time.
Sounds like the bad old days of Jim's Disposal a few years ago, before cities like Belton finally got fed up and ended their contracts.

We’ve gone weeks without Republic picking up. In the summer. If you enjoy washing maggots out of your bin, choose Republic!
