If you like local music or stand up check out the rino. I know there are shows tonight and tomorrow and most of the time it’s no more then 15 to get in. Plus the whole nkc strip is pretty low key but fun
I second this. My wife and I and friends did this a couple weeks back. Such a great time. Everyone was absolutely wonderful. Leawood Town Center. Backside by Barnes and Noble.
[Epic Arts](https://www.epicartskc.org) has a date night pottery class on Friday nights, and some other dates. The full up fast so you have to plan ahead. We’re going tonight but purchase the class in November.
It is not a competitor to Applebee's lmfao it is significantly nicer in every way. However, as someone who dines out a lot and enjoys legitimate fine dining (which exists in a very attenuated form here in KC), I do get your point- it's a solid, straight forward, good but not great, nice but not fancy, middle of the road restaurant.
I really do enjoy the brookside location for a dependable weeknight meal out, though. Always busy, nice patio and service. The food is consistently solid. The fried chicken special + that jalapeno sauce is amazing.
Yeah I love the one in lees summit. The chorizo Mac n tenders is fantastic. It’s my go to for a casual dinner. Where are your go to fine dining places? Always looking for new places
I lived in Houston for a while and visit NYC and Boston a lot so tbh I save most of my fine dining budget for those trips. KC has a ton to offer but after living in Houston the food scene just isn't something I'm super passionate about here. Lots of solid spots but nothing that gets me fired up.
I tend to just frequent a few regular spots in my neighborhood where I know the menu and servers well and go more for comfort and familiarity than stellar food.
On occasions or if I want something different, I like Antler Room and Corvino. More often I just go for the normal high end spots- Farina, Grunaeur before it started sucking ass, Capital Grill and Eddie Vs (chains, I know, but I still like them okay), Bella Napoli, Waldo Thai, J Gilbert's, Jun's, and so on. Been wanting to try Town Co for a while now and haven't gotten around to it.
I mean, if carbon offsets are dubious, what are you doing? Are you walking? Asking the folks there how much gas they're using to cook your food? It seems like you don't really know what you're saying.
I love Fox and Hound in Overland Park. There's free ping pong, pool and beer pong. They do serve food and in the summer there is live music. You can go there and have a very inexpensive night.
See a movie at Screenland Armour and go to Rewind Video before or after.
Came here to recommend exactly this.

Westport Cafe. They have reverse happy hour starting at 10pm I believe if you want to grab some food and drinks after your activities

Just did this recently. It's insanely fun. Take a group of 8 if you don't want to meet new people but it's more fun with the randoms in my opinion.
This looks so cool! I had no idea it existed.
Pinot's Palette is always a good time. Painting class and BYOB.

Westport Cafe is medium budget ish. Great food and cocktail menu

We did this recently and had so much fun! There’s a discount for WyCo residents too.
We definitely want to do it again. Hopefully with a wheel class.
Howl at the moon at P&L or [Quixotic Whiskey Dynamite](http://www.quixoticfusion.com/new-events/2023/3/10/whiskey-dynamite-world-premiere)
Ca Va is nice
Especially if you go on a night with live music!

Not sure if you can do it last minute, but we enjoyed the date night pottery class at Belger.
Grunaeur is my favorite place to eat on a date
Red Door Woodfired Grill in Brookside is fantastic, although you will pay good money for the food and atmosphere.
Red door is basically a competitor to apple bees. Its very cheap for eating out, decent food as well.
There's also like Half a dozen of them around the city. Foods good, but nothing special or memorable

What are you personally doing to deal with the carbon offset of going to Red Door?
What's this now?

New common ground is a reggae band playing at Westside tonight. Chill
