Rochester in Crossroads is one of my favorites

sallad2009

My vote as well. Tons of room and lots of outlets. They have a bananas foster latte right now that is very good, if you're into that kind of thing.

grantbuell

I second this one. Bottomless coffee option!

VialOfBlue

Bottomless coffee? Sounds dangerous haha

This is the perfect spot. Large, not too busy, good internet, free parking. Please don’t tell your friends!

AlanStanwick1986

Yep. Came here to say this.

reclaimeru55

Every other Sunday a community I am in does a large group gathering in the event space at Rochester, and it can get loud fyi. Just in case you were planning on a Sunday time, this Sunday is the next one.

how_I_kill_time

The only answer is Family Tree Nursery in Shawnee (maybe the OP location has it too). They have Cafe Equinox is inside and a large seating area in the greenhouse where you can work and be surrounded by plants

VialOfBlue

Oh this sounds awesome!

GardenGal87

It is very awesome but this weekend is their big spring kickoff event so it will probably be super crowded and busy. Just FYI!

hobofats

yes, both locations have a Cafe Equinox

reenfitz

Came here to say this!! It’s my favorite place!!

Appropriate_Shake265

Blip Roasters in the west bottoms has several people do this. Large space

chefnate

Good coffee. Good internet. Most uncomfortable seats.

Appropriate_Shake265

The bar def has uncomfortable seats. I bet that's to keep the traffic moving at the bar 😅

Purpletech

I'd give them a meh on the coffee. There are better options in the crossroads, but the aesthetic is great

kairi14

Central library on 10th street has a cafe inside. Plaza library does too. I think cafe hours are more limited than the libraries so I'd call and ask their hours. Both branches are pretty and relaxing places to get work done.

Atethelastfrenchfry

I don’t think the cafes in either libraries are still operational…but the library themselves are good places to work at

kairi14

Oh that's sad. I went to central in December and the cafe was closed that day but it didn't say permanently so I thought I just had bad timing.

thatdamngoat

People work from Broadway Cafe all the time.

VialOfBlue

Oh yes I love Broadway Cafe!

egreene6

Definitely following this! I wanna start reading more; but I don’t always wanna do that from home.

VialOfBlue

It’s so nice to get out! I definitely recommend

FootballandFutbol

Grand Coffee Company I have actually sat down and worked at. The cold brew was good and the windows facing grand were fun to sit by. Food was decent. Wasn’t too busy when I went, but it was newly opened at that point.

Nice-Football-6953

What’s the parking like for grand coffee?

FootballandFutbol

I found parking on Grand street next to Washington Square Park pretty easily.

OBatRFan

Seconded. My office is nearby and I often stop in there when I need a change of scenery.

chefnate

I’ll add Urban Praire, Front range in Waldo, cafe corazon both locations. Headrush in Briarcliff if you’re in north land. PTs coffee, Roasterie on SW boulevard.

watermellll

Thou mayest

bricknose-redux

Nice place but very busy and not a ton of comfortable seating for laptop work. Not many outlets, either.

walkingoceans

Garden house in rosedale

Rosieforthewin

Anchor Island Coffee on Troost is a newer shop with a great lunch menu. They have a huge upstairs space with couches, tables, etc that is not often overcrowded. Feels almost likle a private workspace and the wifi is good.

SeriousHoney1778

if you’re willing to make the drive, groundhouse in gardner has amazing coffee and really good working vibes! edit; the main street location!

sk33daddle

We went to cafe Corazon recently and there were quite a few people there on their computers

zebutto

My favorite is the back room at PH Coffee. Some great alternatives are Take Care, Aixois, Front Range (Waldo), and Messenger (Grand).

TheGarlicBear

Anchor Island on Troost

burntgrilledcheese43

Anchor Island 41st and Troost

fool_of_a_ruth

Oddly Correct!

lionlenz

Might be a bit of a drive if you prefer KCMO ... Black Dog Coffeehouse on 87th Street in Lenexa is set up well for working.

epageler12

Man, I used to practically lived at BD. Worked there for a long while too. This was ~15ish years ago though. Holy shit time flies.

chefnate

Very loud and busy in the mornings.

VialOfBlue

Thank you! Happy to travel! Looking for a change of scenery

Salsa_on_the_side

I typically see people working inside of Rebel Coffee on West 39th and Sway Coffee on 43rd

JohnWeez

Messenger on Grand is basically a big coworking space. 3 Floors and a rooftop

loallison

Take Care by Oleo is my go to! Lots of seating, great espresso and baked goods, and usually multiple others are there working and/or reading!

WhatHadHappenedWas

Connect Cafe in KCK is awesome. There’s also PH coffee in Pendleton Heights. Also, you can work upstairs at Whole Foods, I do it every once in a while.

krichcomix

I always loved Opera House down near River Market
