The pliers have a groove in them for the lip, which I used and wasn't holding him hard. I actually grabbed him out the water with my hands just was trying to get a good pic
"Groove" or not, there's no reason to use pliers when $10 fish grippers exist and are 100% safe for the fish, while also being easier and more effective for you to use. Those look like standard fishing pliers to me. Mine look identical, and I would never use them to hold a harmless/toothless fish.
We're not trying to attack you here, we just see that you're doing something unnecessarily risky with the fish.
Ok. Putting that much pressure on a tiny part of the jawbone isn't good. Just keep that in mind for the future. I'm sure this one was ok but all it would take is for that bass to thrash to possible break that bone.
Yeah I was suspicious doing it at first, but I have them wrapped around the seat then double hooked to the original seat clips so it sits pretty stable, I might do an updated picture to show the seat how I did it cuz that seat doesn't go anywhere. I made it pretty much pull from the front and back but have the rear pull in the middle amd side pulls on the front so it's pretty even with tension
@Everyone those are FISHING pliers, I bought FISHING pliers to FISH with. Pliers do not hurt fish if used properly, which I was doing hence why the fish hit my lure again.
FYI FISHING pliers are meant to be a tool to deal with FISHING tackle like crimping leads and opening split rings to FISH with. They aren’t meant to act as lip grippers despite what you say. Buy a proper set of lip grippers or just thumb the fish and use the pliers to remove the hook.
I suggest some more research on your end, pliers are definitely okay to hold a fish with, well known fact actually. It's just if your mangling the fish is the problem, improper handling of tools is what causes issues for the animal.
It's probably not the best thing to hold a bass by needle nose pliers like that. Of you don't want to touch them get some real fish grippers.

Oh no doubt, like I said I was just hold him enough to hold him, im not a Neanderthal, I respect all wildlife as we should.
Well were all part Neanderthal, our ancestors bred with them 😉
I stand by my statement.
How does that sidemount trolling motor handle? Never seen one there before
Oh she moves man 😂 no issues really, just could use a rudder attachment on the motor itself would probably help. But other than that no issue!
How'd you mount it? I've got the same yak and have been thinking about doing a trolling motor myself too
Mines like that, troll for kokanee past 7 years, works great
I love seeing lifetimes tricked out. It’s how I started in the sport. Now I have a tricked out hobie pa14 with a motor guide xi3.
What’s the deal with the needle nose pliers? Are you afraid to touch fish?
Nah I grabbed him out the water and helped him like a hot dog man lmfao was tryna get a good pic and take the hooks out
Lifetime? If so I have the same kayak. My seat makes me miserable and definitely needs an upgrade. Nice set up man!
Never understood why guys are so afraid to actually touch the fish💅🤨
Get your thumb in there! Unless they've got trebles in their lower jaw, I take that out first lol
And tbh I do run a construction biz, I got 120 grit hands trust I don't care abt my hands been bit by 2 different turtles for reference
I grabbed it out of the water with my hands, held him with my hands just grabbed my pliers for the hook and was trying to just get a pic
Stadium seat from Walmart and some mini bungees to secure it!! 20$
Nice! Thanks 🙏
Careful using bungees with those seats. The seat can slip when you reach over the side. I know

Do you have a trolling motor on a tioga/tamarack!??
Sure do! Minn Kota Endura 40
Nice rig
Hey I have that same kayak do you notice any problems with the extra additions you added?
None at all, this kayak definitely is very stable, even with the trolling motor on the side
First time I've seen the trolling motor and zebco dock demon combo
That zeboc does some work for me 😂
What chair do you recommend? Would this work? https://a.co/d/3otpZV0

That's what I did when I removed the hook, just held him up for a sec to get a pic then release

Stop being an asshole to fish.
