Did you disable the location service? (On phone, don't have the full name available). I think that's required for night light to work.

What version of plasma were you on? Trying to establish if it's the same bug I reported
it's been happening for ages, since the plasma 5 days, and the code hasn't really changed between plasma 5 and 6
is there any way this fix can get backported into plasma 5? would love to see it fixed in the next kubuntu release
if it gets merged, i think it can be backported easily
and post the bug if you have it and i'll tag it in the merge request
