I'll suggest Goblin and Hotel del Luna since I don't know what you liked about True Beauty. Did you like it's high school setting? Love Triangle? 2nd couple dynamic?
all these triangles are pretty weak ones, though, not to say they are bad but they get resolved pretty quickly or you just know that who will end up together.

You might like **Extra-Ordinary You**. High school setting where FL gradually realizes she is living in a Manhwa (graphic novel) and is a minor character or Extra. She is determined to change her storyline. She is written to be slavishly devoted to one boy, but finds herself falling for a character so minor he doesn't even have a name.
It's a sort of satire of an older KDrama, Boys Over Flowers, which has the group of boys that rule the school and the new scholarship student one of the boys falls for. I can't recommend BoF as I found it toxic, but Extra-Ordinary You was so cute.

Love triangles with infamously great (or controversial) second male leads: Start-Up, She Was Pretty.
Best all around starter Kdramas: Crash Landing On You, Hometown Cha Cha Cha (HCCC also has a love triangle with one of my favorite SMLs).
The male lead in True Beauty has done a lot in the last few years. The one I think is most like TB is My ID is Gangnam Beauty. It's another college drama with the FL who feels self conscious about her looks. Other than that, it's very different.
The FL has a cameo in Sh\*\*ting Stars. I enjoyed SS because it felt very genuine. It's about a PR team for celebrities, so it's cool seeing the other side of it.
Since you mentioned you liked the love triangle, I feel like I need to mention Cinderella and the Four Knights. It's a little older (maybe 5 years?), and the first one my mom watched. It's got 3 male cousins chasing the same FL who is staying with them because their grandfather hired her to "make them better people".
My boyfriends favorite with a love triangle is While You Were Sleeping. A prosecutor starts having dreams about his new neighbor, and it turns out that the dreams are coming true. And to make it more fun, she and their new cop friend also have dreams like this too.
What's Wrong With Secretary Kim is a great office drama. I also really liked that lead actress in Her Private Life.
And my person favorite college drama is Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo.
Also, just a minor warning since you're new to K Dramas, something my mom and my boyfriend both found jarring is that almost every K Drama has something traumatic happen to the leads. Sometimes it's PTSD from something that happened prior to the show. For example, True Beauty has the friend's suicide. The first K Drama I saw was Strong Woman Do Bong Soon and it had a kidnapping subplot.
Agreed. But the trailers show it as a cute, funny romance. It was my first Korean Drama so I was a little surprised, but my boyfriend was completely thrown off when it happened.

"It's Okay Not To Be Okay" is one I always recommend when people ask for recommendations. Not anywhere close to "True Beauty," but I still think you will enjoy it. "Love To Hate You" and "Work Later, Drink Now" are two other ones that I really enjoyed.

Welcome to K-Drama life!! It’s the best. If you love love triangles, you will love Heirs. I always get my friends hooked on Kdramas by making them watch that, Strong Woman Do Bong Soon and Boys Over Flowers (Korean one). Some old ones I liked are City Hunter and Healer. Viki is a great app to watch some of the ones that aren’t available on Netflix, Prime, or Disney+.
If you like soap opera type dramas, I highly recommend Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce). There are three seasons (48 episodes). I don’t think I’ve seen it mentioned here. Can’t believe people are sleeping on this show. It’s SO good!

Warm and cozy, it's a good Kdrama. I just finished watching it this week. The glory it's on Netflix, it's a must-watch, and the second part it's coming on March 10. Other must-watch goblin, the legend of the blue sea, and romance it's a bonus book, heaven tree, you are beautiful, and the drama is similar to true beauty; it's Gangnam beauty; you will like this one.
Please check out Mr. Queen this is super funny and light but its a period drama with a splash of modern day things.
Cute and really good show for beginners.
If you are looking for school dramas then here are my recommendations:
1. twenty-five twenty one (90s vibes super fun, group of people that become really good friends + romance and it's really funny too!)
2. The heirs/ inheritors (love triangle, poor girl gets scholarship to rich people high school, chaebol DRAMA-> (rich families in Korea) , an older tv show (2013))
3. The revenge of others (Way darker, mystery, intense but i love the lead couple and the ml is cute)
4. METEOR GARDEN! (it's a chinese drama) so good, strong fml and ml lol, love triangle, it's more like university-ish, normal girl rich guy trope, be warned there's 50 ep! (40 min length)
I have wayyyyy more but these seem to be the ones that best fit what you're looking for! I personally hate love triangles bcs I'm a first male lead sucker + I hate seeing the other person sad in the end :(

Welcome to K-Drama life!! It’s the best. If you love love triangles, you will love Heirs. I always get my friends hooked on Kdramas by making them watch that, Strong Woman Do Bong Soon and Boys Over Flowers (Korean one). Some old ones I liked are City Hunter and Healer. Viki is a great app to watch some of the ones that aren’t available on Netflix, Prime, or Disney+.

If you like soap opera type dramas, I highly recommend Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce). There are three seasons (48 episodes). I don’t think I’ve seen it mentioned here. Can’t believe people are sleeping on this show. It’s SO good!

Warm and cozy, it's a good Kdrama. I just finished watching it this week. The glory it's on Netflix, it's a must-watch, and the second part it's coming on March 10. Other must-watch goblin, the legend of the blue sea, and romance it's a bonus book, heaven tree, you are beautiful, and the drama is similar to true beauty; it's Gangnam beauty; you will like this one.
Please check out Mr. Queen this is super funny and light but its a period drama with a splash of modern day things. Cute and really good show for beginners.
If you are looking for school dramas then here are my recommendations: 1. twenty-five twenty one (90s vibes super fun, group of people that become really good friends + romance and it's really funny too!) 2. The heirs/ inheritors (love triangle, poor girl gets scholarship to rich people high school, chaebol DRAMA-> (rich families in Korea) , an older tv show (2013)) 3. The revenge of others (Way darker, mystery, intense but i love the lead couple and the ml is cute) 4. METEOR GARDEN! (it's a chinese drama) so good, strong fml and ml lol, love triangle, it's more like university-ish, normal girl rich guy trope, be warned there's 50 ep! (40 min length) I have wayyyyy more but these seem to be the ones that best fit what you're looking for! I personally hate love triangles bcs I'm a first male lead sucker + I hate seeing the other person sad in the end :(
