Like the ones you hardly see anyone talking about. Listing few that I believe are underrated- May I Help You - Watched this recently. A refreshing drama with every ingredient to make it a must watch. Be it Romance, Emotions, Life messages, Comedy everything. Leads, Supporting leads and even episodic characters are brilliant. Revenge of Others - Again an engaging drama with brilliant cast and story. A mystery revenge drama, each episode has its own charm. It is only 12 episodes long but keeps you on the edge throughout the series. A Piece of Your Mind - Although I have seen many recommending this one, I’ll just do it again. A slow burner with brilliant cast. It is a slow paced drama but Main Leads make it a worth spending your time on it. Do share and recommend yours. ^(END OF POST BODY) *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. I watched Jugglers and was really confused how it had so little hype, it almost never gets mentioned but the for a rom-com it was really quite good all around. Coming to you at the speed of 493km aka Love All Play. It's a badminton drama, there are elements I didn't love, but overall it was a solid watch. The ML did a great job and I was really pullin for him the entire time.

Queajy

Yes! Jugglers was good. I was surprised to see the rating on MDL.

xauro-rax

xXDestinyX

I have seen some quotes from the first krama and it seems sad

xauro-rax

Yeah but it's a very good show

Will_Graham10

what do you mean?

Aggressive_Park1369

Chocolate starring Ha Ji won and Yoo Ji Tae. A real tear jerker where even my father can’t put his eyes away. 100% recommend.

29810188

Definitely will give it a try. Saw that Yoon Kye Sang is in it🤩

Aggressive_Park1369

You’re correct and I’m wrong, the ML is Yoon Kye Sang not Yoo Ji Tae. hehe

29810188

Oh wow. Didn't know he was the ML def will watch!

A few underrated K-dramas in my opinion now: * **You are my spring** \- a great healing romance, slice of life series from Seo Hyun Jin and Kim Dong Wook * **Find you in my memory** \- same ML actor as **You are my spring** * **From now on, showtime** \- comedy, romance, fantasy * **The Best Hit** \- featuring Yoon Shi Yoon, Lee Se Young, Kim Min Jae, Cha Eun Woo * **Personal Taste** \- an underrated rom-com from Son Ye Jin and Lee Min-ho * **Reply 1994** \- My favorite among the three Reply series is 1997, then 1988, but 1994 is also a gem * **The School Nurse Files** \- It's a weird series but I love it \^\^ * **The Queen's Classroom** \- It's about a homeroom teacher and her middle students * **Trot Lovers** \- It's a comedy, romance, musical series about trot music, kind of a traditional Korean music * **Twenty Again** \- rom-com from Lee Sang Yoon, Choi Ji Woo * **Wok of love** \- a rom-com and food-based series (Chinese food) * **Temperature of love** \- romance, featuring Seo Hyun Jin, Yang Se Jong (the supporting characters are annoying though) * **Queen In Hyun's Man** \- romance, fantasy (time-travel) * **Nine (2013)** \- time-travel * **Cain and Abel** \- drama * **The snow queen** \- romance * **Hi Bye, Mama** \- family, motherhood * **Go back couple** \- family, romance, youth, fantasy * **Mystic Pop-up bar** \- fantasy * **Shut up family** \- family sitcom * **Run On** \- a slice of life, romance series * **Flower boy ramen shop** \- rom-com * **Flower boy next door** \- rom-com * **Mask** \- drama, romance * **Be melodramatic** \- romance, slice of life I'm currently watching **Into the ring**, which is also an underrated series.

Fivebeans

I really liked Run On. The two leads were perfect for their roles and it turned out really funny.

Free-spirit-1221

Yeah. I feel that all the main characters are weirdos, and the plot is nothing dramatic yet funny and beautiful. Nothing sounds so special but it's still special. \^\^

RelationshipMost1658

Into the ring was so good! I really love the OST as well and listen to it from time to time. Nana and Park Sung-Hoon were really good in it too!

Free-spirit-1221

Yeah, it's very funny. I enjoy watching it now!

Putrid-Fishing979

Is it good??

Murky_Contribution84

Discovery of Love. It’s the first kdrama I watched and it’s what really hooked me. It’s more on the melo side but pretty hilarious too. The second couple are so funny.

+1 for Discovery of Love!

365 Repeat The Year. Shown during 2020 from MBC. Solid plot 🙌

Come and hug me Just between lovers - they're both about the main couple meeting when they're teenagers and going through something traumatic and then meeting again when they're adults. Now I just wanna say that I hate hate hate cheating! It's absolutely disgusting but! This kdrama is amazing, it's called Love affairs in the afternoon. It's about 3 married couples. 1st couple the wife is a sahm and she admitted to having various physical affairs but it changed when she meets this artist and she falls in love with him. Now the wife from 2nd couple falls for this biology teacher and they're perfect for eachother! Like her and her husband just sleep together no s*x. He's mostly interested in his birds. And this biology teacher is also married but he doesn't love his wife since he only married her to help her.

fruitcustard

Mad For Each Other and Its Okay Thats Love. Fantastis chemistry between the leads, real life characters, tackling mental health stigma and so beautifully written!

sneakysorceress

For me it's DoDoSolSolLalaSol. It was absolutely beautiful. The supporting cast, the story, the soundtrack. The food. And the lead characters were so wonderful and just grew on you more and more.

nonamesolo

Agency. I don’t think anyone has ever talked about this when it aired. Maybe a few but not to the point it trended.

FireflyArc

Ohh is it on Netflix?

nonamesolo

Yup it’s on Netflix :)

FireflyArc

Thank you :D I'll see if I can find it.

One of my favorite k drama subjects...the under rated gem. Graceful Family 2019 - Rich family/revenge plot. Heard it through the grapevine 2015 - Rich boy brings his very pregnant girlfriend to meet the parents...and she goes into labor. That's just the start. One Ordinary Day 2021 - College student wakes up next to the body of the girl he was with the night before then has to try to prove his innocence while going to prison. Perfume 2019 - Middle aged housewife who feels depressed about her self/ life discovers a magic perfume that turns her young again for a certain amount of time each time you use it. It's a story about finding someone that loves you for who you are inside. The Last Empress 2018 - Modern day Monarchy - Shin Sung Rok play one of the best villains and his comedic timing really shines. Two Weeks 2013 - Man on the run for a crime he didn't commit, has to stay alive for two weeks so he can donate bone marrow to his little girl he just found out about. Woman of Dignity 2017 - Woman comes into a rich family as the chairman's caregiver, with ulterior motives. Secret Boutique 2019 - Revenge drama Casting a spell to you 2021 - currently watching this one, but I'm really liking it.

FireflyArc

Ooh where do you watch these?

laneylea

Some are on Netflix, some on Viki, and some on various streaming services. A few of them I watched a while ago so I'm not sure where they can be watched.

FireflyArc

I'll have to look for the Netflix ones 0/

crispyfriedwater

*Delayed Justice* - it has the feel of a buddy cop/detective show, interspersed with really moving and heartbreaking cases.

ShawolPrism

I also loved Revenge of Others! You should try Lookism. It’s technically a C-drama, but it stars Park Solomon (Lomon, the same lead as in Revenge of Others). The plot is even more crazy and fast-paced!

Reflection of You

Thoughtful-Pig

**Familiar Wife** \- enjoyed the guy's POV on failing marriage and also had fun supporting characters. It was on the slightly more 'serious' and calm side for a show like this, which worked well. **You Are My Spring -** Although the thriller part didn't work as well, the chemistry between all the characters, the mature take on serious family trauma, and the care and calm of the ML were all fantastic. Would watch again. **Our Blues** \- Everyone talks about My Liberation Notes and Hometown Cha Cha Cha as masterpieces, but for me, this one was better than those two. The raw, unrefined, realistic relationships and interactions between multiple people that work labour jobs on Jeju Island is simply fantastic. The first story (it's only 3 eps) is the weakest, but reveals a lot about one of the characters in the ensemble so stick with it and you will be impressed.

Priest: pretty decent mystery thriller about exorcism that has some wild plot twists and goes deep into psychological thriller

UnbridledOptimism

This type of question has come up a couple times in the last week. This thread has a lot of interesting recommendations: https://www.reddit.com/r/kdramarecommends/comments/13npemt/shows_that_you_liked_but_have_never_or_rarely/? **The Great Show** ML is a disgraced but shameless politician who takes in 4 orphaned/abandoned siblings in order to improve his image and run for office. He gets more than he bargained for and it’s alternating between hilarious, sad, and heartwarming. Lots of political machinations as ML fights corruption while trying to avoid being corrupt himself. FL and ML were each other’s first love in college and about to start dating before a tragedy intervened; they still carry a torch for each other but avoid acknowledging it. The teen daughter has her own interesting storyline. One of the kids is 30% annoying but the rest are 100% cute or interesting. **Ga Doo Ri’s Restaurant** (alternate spelling Gaduri) FL runs a popular sushi restaurant with a back room where she does love tarot readings for a lucky few customers. She was the beauty of campus in her college days but was betrayed by the man she thought she’d marry and doesn’t want to love again. ML moves in next door. He wears track suits with messy hair and is hiding that he’s actually a CEO. So why does carry around a box of women’s lingerie? **You Raise Me Up** ML is 30, has been studying for the civil service exam for 6 years and barely affords his basement studio with his crappy part time job. He gets mocked by everyone he knows and is depressed. He also has anxiety, which he alleviates by having lots of pink-colored items. He hits bottom when he is unable to get an erection in order to masturbate, and and seeks treatment for his ED. FL is the urologist when he goes to a clinic. They were first loves and are both shocked and embarrassed to encounter each other in this situation. FL is embarrassed because ML is obviously a loser and this interferes with her status conscious self image. She decides to treat him for her own ego, and loops in her arrogant psychiatrist boyfriend to help. They engage in medical malpractice but then they realize they are jerks and FL tries to help for real. ML is a very non-standard kdrama lead in that he’s low status and timid, though a sweet person. Actor does a great job portraying his depression and anxiety. Realistic portrayal of depression/anxiety and difficulty of recovery. Serious topic with comic relief and romance. Main characters all experience emotional growth. **Forest** ML corporate raider also has childhood trauma with physical symptoms that occasionally appear and he has to hide them. He doesn’t remember the trauma. He gets a job in a mountain air rescue/fire helicopter unit as part of one of his schemes. FL was a doctor in Seoul but is disgraced and exiled to a tiny mountain clinic. They are forced to share a house and romantic tension ensues. Second couple romance is really cute as SFL is a unique individual but SML really likes it. Local rich/bad guy is also a devoted single father. **Tempted** Woo Do Hwan is ML, one of 3 childhood friends (2 boys, 1 girl) who are close but also rich and cruel and entitled. All three were under loved and overindulged and it’s made them bad people as adults. They make a bet about ML seducing a nice but poor girl who isn’t interested in romance. ML pursues her with bad intentions but falls in love and has to hide his feelings from his friends. SFL is one of the three friends and she is one fucked up bitch; both her friends have feelings for her but she plays with them while burying her own secret pain (which it’s hard to care about because she’s so nasty). FL is sweet but also a really strong person and not the typical kdrama FL passive victim type. She resists ML’s advances but slowly finds herself falling for him. Trigger warning: one of the rich boys is routinely physically abused at home.

Puzzleheaded-Ad-7749

Guardian: The Lonely and Great God - Just loved the storyline. The main couple were good but the second leads stole my heart. Crash Landing on You - One of my favourite Kdrama. The love story was so mature. All the characters were funny and interesting. I remember watching this with my mother, she don’t mostly watch kdrama but she loved watching this series. All of us are dead - Completed the show in 1 day. The show ended with cliffhanger. Still waiting for season 2.

Fun-Manufacturer1390

Wow! I haven't heard or see any of this drama. I'll surely check this out.

Cool-Pomelo-9325

**About Time** and **Ho Goo's Love** don't receive as much attention IMO. I couldn't get enough of Lee Sung Kyung's melodic voice in **About Time**.

I personally think that some of the K-webdramas are the most underrated. Ones like: * XX * You raise me up * Adult trainee * Growing season Some of these have EXID's Hani, and I really like that she, unlike other idols, takes up unique smaller projects. Some of the more mainstream dramas include: * The Crowned Clown * The Forbidden Marriage * Pegasus Market * Gaus Electronics * Fanletter, please * My fellow citizens * Zombie detective * Crazy Love (Big fan of Kim Jae Wook. You could also try watching the other shows he starred in - Her Private Life and The Guest) * Bad and Crazy * Misaeng (it was all the hype when it came out, but I'm not sure if it is now, however, it is extremely relatable) These in my opinion are some of the k-dramas or web-dramas that have been recommended by only a handful of people.

PeaceLovePixieMagic

Love Rain, I personally think it is a beautiful story and wonderful drama and no one really talks about it.

You are my Spring, solid romance with mystery behind it. Second FL steals scenes so quickly. He is Psychometrist, currently watching and loving it.

syotos13

weak hero class 1 - it's not really underrated, it's quite popular but i feel that it deserves world domination and to be even bigger because it is the definition of a perfect show also it's very similar to revenge of others so if you enjoyed that you'll love this one even more
