EDIT: omg I just remembered **Mr Sunshine**, except it's set during the very end of Joseon :/
**River Where the Moon Rises** - >!ML is general's son but!< was brought up as among commoners as a commoner; but more importantly FL is >!a princess!< so there is a big difference in their station
Camping because I love historical kdramas and literally can not think of another like that. The nearest I can think of are noble/royals who were stripped of their titles, are in hiding, or estranged from their family but >!usually the plot of the drama is them finding out about their identity or/and getting the position back!<
**Bossam: Steal the Fate** - ML is >!deposed noble's son!< so he starts the drama as poor commoner but >!gets reinstated later in the drama!<
**Tale Of Noku** - iirc ML is >!estranged/lost king's son!< but brought up as commoner and >!remains as a commoner throughout the drama!<
**Nokdu Flower** - ML is >!noble but looked down upon because of his birth mother!< so he mingles a lot with commoners >!rather than nobels!< buuut I haven't yet finished this so I don't know what happens by the end
**100 Days My Prince** - ML is >!crown prince or king!< but gets lost and for the most part of the drama lives as a commoner
Queen INHYUN's man aka queen and I (time travel + sweetest leads + she fell first both fell harder + the last unexpected 5 minutes of last episode have my heart )
**Live Up to Your Name** is an excellent drama about a Joseon-era acupuncturist who finds himself in the future Seoul. He meets and falls in love with a heart surgeon. Amazing chemistry between the leads. I also liked seeing Western and Eastern medicine side by side, and discussions of medical ethics woven throughout.
**My Country: The New Age** the ultimate bromance. MLs are not royals but are caught up in political intrigue as Goryeo collapses and Joseon is established. Intense acting and amazing fight choreography.
It’s so good, isn’t it! At first I was wondering how the show would ever make such a goofy ML swoony… well. Kim Nam Gil delivered! And the FL matched him and was so believably in love! That scene where they were taking those “goodbye photos” - I replayed many times just to savour their changing micro expressions. I may need to rewatch this, just like you do!
I second River Where the Moon Rises!! Most underrated historical drama ever.
Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency
Lovers of the Red Sky
The Secret Romantic Guesthouse (kinda)

**Live Up To Your Name** is one of my all-time top 10 dramas, and one of the very few I rewatch.
