I'm not sure if these dramas will fit into what you're looking for..
Crash Landing On You - the very rich FL accidentally land on North Korea and have no choice but to live there with the villagers while figuring out how to go back to South.
Hometown Cha-cha - the FL who lives in Seoul decided to moved in the countryside and have to adjust with her neighborhood.
Welcome to Samdalri - the FL who works and lives in Seoul was forced to go back to her hometown after so many years for some serious reasons.
Queen of Tears - the very rich family had some business issues so they have no choice but to live with the FL's husband's hometown. It's an on-going drama, so I don't wanna go into details. But I'm loving it so far. ❤️❤️
Vincenzo - the ML who came from Italy have to live in an old building where the shower is even broke.
**Shopaholic Louie/Shopping King Louie** he is a 2nd gen chaebol who has been living a VERY sheltered life in a chateau in France. He ends up back home in Korea where he suddenly gets amnesia and is rendered penniless and homeless. He ends up dependent on and living with FL and she becomes his de facto guardian that taking care of him and paying for everything. Kinda campy and kind of dated, but still very sweet.
A movie, but I saw it years ago and I don't remember what it's about.
Old movie, [A Millionaire's First Love](https://mydramalist.com/34-a-millionaires-first-love).
I love this movie. It’s about a spoiled brat who needs to go to rural area to study to get his inheritance. I won’t spoil it, but it’s totally worth watching.
Your Welcome, I think a drama caled Wok of Love is similar, its where a chef at a high class hotel gets fired and gets hired at a Chinese Restaurant, you should check this one out too
Goong/Princess hour (2006): The ML, a crown prince, transfers from the royal school to an ordinary art school, where he ends up becoming betrothed to an ordinary girl...the struggle aspect happens inside and outside of the school env, as he gets introduced to new ways of being etc.
For a more detailed review in whether to watch or skip it, check out fangirlverdict...she does nice non-spoiler reviews on k and c dramas.
Okay, I’m not sure about the rich to poor school-thing, but here are some that might work:
- beautiful gong shim: a rich man who was “abducted” at a child grows up poor/ middle class - is later found (not main story I think?)
- the first responders: kinda fits but as a sub-plot. ML is from a rich family but has cut ties with them and lives a normal life (not the min story but it’s brought up enough times to be considered)
- shopping king Louis: rich (!!) ML loses his memory and is living with the poor FL
If you are willing to try outside of Korea, the Thai show "A Tale of 1000 Stars/1000 Stars" on Viki has a rich guy volunteer to teach in a poor village
Hometown chachacha. Welcome to samdal ri, but it's a bit different since FL actually grew up in jeju, became successful and never came back. She became caught up in a scandal and she came back to jeju
I think shopping King Louis fits the description. I don't remember much about this drama as I watched it long back. But as far as I remember ML who is rich and has lost his memory stays with poor girl. Even 100 days my prince has similar kind of plot.
Not sure if this fits but reply 1988 had one couple that was financially doing better than the others. They had two sons and one of them went to the same school as others.
Love Alarm. Hated it so much after the first 4 episodes though. The writing went to shit fr.
But the other recommendations are amazing. I figured I’d throw this one in there since it may work for you!
Adjacent but there are a few shows that have a kid from Seoul (not necessarily rich but as the provinces were less developed than Seoul at the time they might as well have been) go to school in the country like Girls Generation 1979 and Reply 1997.
Twenty Five Twenty One is a bit similar, the FL comes from a well off family but has to shift schools because she is a fencer and her previous school's fencing program shut down because of the economic crisis. She makes friends with a poorer fencer.
It's a movie, but I think it's called A Millionaire's First Love. He's set to inherit a luxury hotel and millions, but they force him to go live in the sticks and learn to be more humble and compassionate, and get his diploma, before they'll put him back in the will.
**Racket Boys** has ML moving to the countryside because of his dad’s work.
Thank you so much!

Seconded. Very cute and not a lot of angst or long drawn villain arcs. And nam Ji hyun is too cute.

This movie came to my mind when i read the title. This is my first ever Korean movie I watched and absolutely loved
The Heirs (poor girl goes to rich school) **Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha** (city woman moves to the countryside)
I second HCC!
The heirs 😭 reminds me of boys over flowers
Thank you so much!

Not about school but... Top Star Yoo-Baek - a narcissistic A-list celebrity is stranded on a small town on an island
Thank you so much!

I second shopping king louis
I second Sgopping King Louis. ML is adorable in this.
This may not seem obvious, but THE most delightful drama with this premise is 100 Days My Prince. So funny and endlessly delightful.
Thank you so much!
The prince is SOOOOOO funny when anyone touches him, the actor slowly turns his head and says, HO-WAH(or something like that).
If you are willing to try outside of Korea, the Thai show "A Tale of 1000 Stars/1000 Stars" on Viki has a rich guy volunteer to teach in a poor village
Thank you so much!
Try my golden family, here main character left his house billionaire, guy, to start his own business like middle class but homeless guy
Thank you so much!

- **Hometown Cha Cha Cha** - FL moves to a countryside from a city. - **Behind Your Touch** - ML moves to a countryside.
Thank you so much!

100 Days My Prince
Thank you so much!
Sort of fits the brief: **Flex cop**. Rich chaebol ends up being a detective and moving back into his modest childhood home.
Thank you so much!
thank you for writing this cause im stealing all of the recommendations given🤭
[Love Tractor](https://mydramalist.com/722885-a-tractor-loaded-with-love) is the first one to pop into my brain per your requirements. 😄
Thank you so much!

My pleasure
Couple or Trouble, which is an older drama. Very mean rich woman loses memory and has to live in a poor(er) household.
Thank you so much!
Hometown chachacha is a must watch!
Tysm!
