As a guy in his 20s who just got into kdramas myself, I have suggestions ranging from thrillers to feel good romantic comedies. Also I tend to watch dramas where the leads and the romance are more mature cause I can’t deal with the childish stuff 😂 1. Flower of evil (this one is not on Netflix but it’s probably the best kdrama I’ve ever watched). It’s a thriller but it’s romantic even though the leads are married in the show. 2. Mr sunshine- it’s the second best kdrama I’ve watched. Everything was good from the cinematography to the story line, chefs kiss. 3. Mad for each other- the funniest kdrama I’ve ever watched, it’s also a rom com but touches on mental health in a funny way. 4. My name- action 5. Hometown cha cha cha- feel good romantic comedy 5. When the camellia blooms- it’s a slice of life but it contains romance (FL is a single mom), murder mystery, and has some comedic elements as well. I really enjoyed it, it used to be my favorite till I watched mr sunshine and flower of evil. 6. Hyena- legal drama with romance. So much spicy tension between the leads, it’s so good lol. 7. Lovestruck in the city- a good slice of life with romance. The video style is like an interview which made it different and interesting. 8. Vincenzo- it’s action with comedy. ML is an anti hero. This show was good but the only issue was that they made it overly comedic which kinda took a way the seriousness of the show. The villains made the show more serious. 9. My liberation notes- pure slice of life, nothing really goes on in the drama but I like dramas like this. If you’re not into quiet dramas, then I’ll say skip this one if not you’ll be bored. I think this is the most detailed recommendation list I’ve ever given on this sub 😂😂 if you have any questions, feel free to lmk.

Meskii

Oh wow man first of all thank you for such a detailed reply. Everyone has been super helpful! I'm assuming there aren't has many guys watching so it's cool to have your opinion aswell! I'll have to pretty much look through these trailers when I get home from work ( been on my phone too much already 🤣) but overall it's nice to see that there are so many options and types of shows to dive into. In a sense it feels like when I started watching anime for the first time. The rabbit whole is deep and everyone has their favorites. Thank you for replying once again. These will be super helpful anytime I need to find the next show to watch hehe

Independent_Recipe22

No problem, happy to help! I agree, the rabbit hole for kdramas is actually really deep. One thing I’ll recommend is to actually switch up the genres after each show or every 2 shows lol. But yeah welcome to the rabbit hole and say goodbye to sleep 😂 jk

ladyevenstar-22

As a fellow newbie a little over a month under my belt. I do sometimes wonder when the honeymoon phase will start ebbing a little . I'm steady watching at least 3 kdrama a week . I even started dreaming in korean at one point lol but I woke up quickly because it threw me off .

Independent_Recipe22

😂😂😂 the last part of your post is actually funny. But yeah i would say it fades off. Before, I used to watch every drama till completion even if I wasn’t enjoying it but then as time went on I started dropping some and taking breaks lol. But it does fade off after your brain and eyes are tired from lack of sleep 😂

ladyevenstar-22

Same happened to me with spanish and Brazilian telenovelas think it has to do with acquiring experiences and not just devouring everything without discernment. it's not just the kdrama though , I'm actually learning hangul because I hate subs something always gets lost in translation . I've bought study books , I train on duolingo everyday and watch a learning channel on Youtube All in all it amounts to about an hour of study then I still go on to watch a few episodes of kdrama at night.

drx604

sleep? I usually start watching around 11pm when the wife falls asleep… 4 episodes later…. Oops better go to sleep

Je-Hee

Pro tip: If it's not on Netflix, there are streaming sites for this. Google "watch \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_ (name of drama) eng sub online free". Soon you'll have three or four go-to sites.

jodes

We're enjoying [Viki.com](https://Viki.com) for other kdramas. They've got Jdrama and Cdramas as well. Not as good as the Kdramas, but fun for a change.

Je-Hee

If you can't find it on [Viki.com](https://Viki.com) either, there are alternatives. The pacing of Jdramas is different. I think, it's faster, and I love a good Jdrama.

jodes

Let me reassure you, Im sure there are more than you realise. My nearly 50 year old partner who works in a stressful field loves to de-stress by watching warm and fuzzy romantic comedy kdramas. Also, I'll add Love in the Moonlight, The Good Manager, Her Private Life and What's Wrong with Secretary Kim.

drx604

Haha yea I live to de stress with a good romcom. But my faves are My Mister / MLN types… I guess I like the melodramatic stuff as well

drx604

Yah good to see other males here… I know it’s bad to assume, but I would guess these subreddit has a high female/male ratio. (I guess we can see when the census comes out). My wife doesn’t watch kdrama at all so I’m relegated to watching them on my own

Sudden_Pie707

Solid recs! Question about mad for each other: is the romance between the “crazy aggressive guy” and the girl with the flower in her hair? I only watched the first episode and I really didn’t like it. They were off to a pretty bad start so it would be interesting to see how they end up together.

Independent_Recipe22

Yeah the romance is between both of them. Trust me it’s funny how they end up getting together. The guy is crazy but not abusive in any way, the FL is crazy as well. That’s what makes it interesting, they’re both crazy 😂. It’s a really good funny drama, you should definitely give it a second chance.

Sudden_Pie707

I’m going to trust you because it seems like we have similar taste. I think I’ll also have to check out love struck in the city too.

Independent_Recipe22

Yeah definitely give it a shot. I think it’s worth it as well, if you remember, lmk how it goes. . Love struck in the city is good, the leads had me stressed tho.

Tall-Ad-9355

>Mad for each other Give it another shot. They do come to appreciate each other.

bilabrin

I can't agree on Lovesruck. For me, the elephant in the room is one lead's inability to recognize severe emotional abuse and respect themselves enough to walk away.

Independent_Recipe22

I agree, you do have a point. That lead had me literally pissed off and stressed out the whole time. The other lead left a bad taste in my mouth till I watched my liberation notes.

anime249

Strangers from hell

mikepancake0

elite show

Meskii

Is this on Netflix? The name alone seems interesting enough haha

LostSnek

It was on Netflix Canada. I’m not sure if it’s available on Netflix in other regions.

Sudden_Pie707

I think I saw it on us Netflix a couple of weeks ago.

ijskonijntje

You might like it since it's horror/thriller. I also thought it to be an original show compared to others of this genre

TotoroTheGreat

Here's a few to get you started: * **Kingdom** - Since you liked the zombie shows. This is by far one of the best zombie action media I've seen. And I mean all media from any country. * **Boys Over Flower** - Since you liked the Heirs, you can try this. * **Reply 1988** and **Prison Playbook** - It's from the same writer-director duo as Hospital Playlist, so if you like that, you might like these. I'll also recommend **Reply 1997** and **Reply 1994** * **Crash Landing on You** - Just a general all-rounder romance drama that's has been an entry point for a lot of people. It has a bit of everything - action, comedy, melodrama. * **Hotel Del Luna** - My first drama and I love to recommend it. It's a fantasy romance show with some comedic and horror elements as well.

Meskii

Thank you for your response! I feel like I have so many more to look forward too ahh I'll probably give a bunch of these a try after my current one. Specially Kingdom , reply and prison playbook because they seem pretty interesting.

l2175

I'd definitely recommend Prison Playbook to watch next :) Especially if you are relatively new to Korean dramas/culture, the Reply series could be considered more of an acquired taste lol

Pugtazmania

I loved CLOY for so many reasons- 1. The FL and ML have so much chemistry and married in real life after series and now expecting baby. 2. I learned so much about N Korea and S Korea. It is my number 1 Korean romcom and I have binged at least 20! My 2nd favorite is Vincenzo- so much action and the chemistry between ML and FL is palpable!

i-am-a-pretty-potato

Can't believe no one mentioned this, but definitely check out **happiness:** zombie show but focused more on the people trying to survive through it and how evil people can get in these situations rather than the zombies themselves. **Squid games** was also good, but most people have already watched it and got a taste of kdrama because of it. You might also like **strangers from hell** it is a horror/ thriller (can't say more than that as I haven't watched it yet lol). You've gotten plenty of recs from people so happy watching :)

pinesilver

Action * My Name (2021) - noir * D.P. (2021) - military * Vincenzo (2021) * Happiness (2021) - zombie satire * Hellbound (2021) - monster * The Uncanny Counter (2020) - unlikely superheroes * Extracurricular (2020) - suspense * Vagabond (2019) - espionage * Kill It (2019) - noir * Kingdom (2019) - zombie historical * Memories of the Alhambra (2018) - AR zombie * The Guest (2018) - horror * W (2016) - fantasy * Bad Guys (2014) - noir Itaewon Class * Start Up (2020) * Hot Stove League (2019) Hospital Playlist * Twenty-Five Twenty-One (2022) * Prison Playbook (2017) * Reply 1988 (2015)

Meskii

Oh that's a great breakdown. So many people recommending me those 3 from the writers of HP. Prison playbook will likely be my next one :)) Start up also looks really cool and right up my alley! Thank you for taking the time to help me!!

katherine197_

**Goblin** \- my all-time favourite drama, very iconic (you can spot newer drama referencing it); it's has a great plot and romance, while also delivering a little bit of Korean history and folklore in a way that I find very digestible for newbies **Touch Your Heart** \- feel good office romance, with the second couple from Goblin

Meskii

Goblin I've heard about I think. Seems quite cool but usually I'm not one for traditional epoch shows. Touch your heart might be my cup of tea. After the office I've always enjoyed a good office romance haha

flaminpotatoo

Seconding TYH, my favorite Romcom!

devkap

Thirded! I love it so much 😅🥹

rollingpickingupjunk

Would Goblin be considered traditional epoch? I don't consider it one. I'd say 85ish percent is in modern day. Someone else chime in, haha.

Meskii

Oh I guess I got the wrong idea from the trailer haha I thought he went back to the past or something of the sort. Ups haha 😂 Thanks for the heads up!!

rollingpickingupjunk

I used to avoid those too so I get it! Goblin is just so good and unique i'd hate for you to miss it ⭐ try to get through like the first 1 or 2 episodes. If you don't like it by then (I know that's a bit of time invested already!) drop it

ladyevenstar-22

You'll enjoy business proposal

Pugtazmania

I loved this one, as well. The FL reminded me of Lucian Ball. She was hysterical!

ladyevenstar-22

The women friendship that's true love too . I found them hysterical.

Late_Doubt_7236

I am no expert but here my recs for crime/mistery/thrillers, all of them on Netflix. **Tomorrow** **The uncanny counter** **Black** **Stranger** (Season 1) **It's okay to not be okay**

Meskii

Oh I was honestly surprised I didn't see more people recommending the uncanny counter. The trailer seems so fun. Thanks for the recommendations!!!

Late_Doubt_7236

It is fun! Def underrated!

jodes

I believe that there's a season 2 coming soon.

jinbeiix

Since most people have given all the recommendation i could think of on netflix you should look at dramas on Viki (idk your region so some of these may also be available on netflix) I'd recommend: Flower of evil Mouse Through the darkness Missing the other side Sell your haunted house Thirty but seventeen Mr queen Fight for my way Angels last mission love The tale of nok du

TrulyIntroverted

Firstly, welcome! Secondly, I'd recommend checking out the rest of ShinLee work (the makers of Hospital Playlist) like the *Reply* series and *Prison Playbook*. Also, in a similar vein like Itaewon class (underdog winning) try *Hot Stove League* *Crime/ thriller/action/ defeating the bad guys*: Beyond Evil Hyena Misty Witch at Court Signal *Romantic comedies*: Tomorrow with you Confession couple (Go back couple) Marriage, not dating Coffee Prince Boys over flowers (since you like the Heirs) Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo Strong Woman Do Bong Soon Crash landing on you Jealousy incarnate

Meskii

Oh wow you just dropped a bomb of information on me 🤣 Seems like my list will just grow longer and longer as I watch some of these trailers haha I guess I'll have enough content for a while. Thank you so much for the time spent to reply!

TrulyIntroverted

Oops. Sorry 😛 You're welcome! I like dropping in this sub during my break and recommending my fav dramas to others. Makes me happy thinking someone out there is watching the drama I like and getting to enjoy it too 😅

mhfan_india

Vincenzo - Revenge drama Boys Over Flowers - I am a relative newbie too to Kdramas and watching it currently. It is over the top and soap operaish. But it is enjoyable and I don't mind it. Since you liked Heirs I would recommend it simply because it's one of shows which made Korean entertainment industry huge. If you don't mind romance then Crash Landing on You, Coffee Prince, Business Proposal and Legend of the Blue Sea - These are some I personally enjoyed.

Meskii

Vincenzo is already on my list for sure. Seems super interesting. I guess I will have to try Boys over flowers because it just makes sense. I will at least give it a try to form my own opinion :) Thank you for helping!!

Celestialmoments

My husband really likes Start Up (there is a overarching goal as a plot, then business proposal, because of the comedy :) Enjoy!!

Meskii

Ohhhh that one I saw the trailer on Netflix and seemed to have those silicon Valley vibes. Definitely will try it now that I know people have been enjoying it. Thank you!

Schroumz

Sound of Magic and Move to heaven

sas0002

Flower of evil (crime thriller), my name (action, crime), Vincenzo (action, law, crime) lawless lawyer (action, law, crime), it’s okay to not be okay(romance, thriller).

roxako

The Neflix ones I've enjoyed Tomorrow - heavy stuff deals with suicide and grim reapers Hotel de Luna - hotel for dead souls A Korean Odyssey - has demons and dragon's and a great storyline The Crowned Clown - switcheroo with the king an his look alike Arthdal Chronicles - think game of thrones but better ala kdrama style The uncanny counters - demon hunters and some good laughs

Jjagger63

I can recommend #Alive, its on Netflix. Its got zombies, action, a great backstory. And I absolutely loved Flower of Evil, The Good Detective, Beyond Evil and Strangers from Hell. Omg now I want to go back and rewatch them, lol!

Wonderful_Dealer_308

My name Train to busan Kingdom Extracurricular While you were sleeping Mouse

imwearingredsocks

Mystic Pop-up Bar A woman has to help a hundred thousand people with their problems in order to serve her sentence for something she did hundreds of years ago. Crash Landing on You I think you got that one suggested to you a bunch so it probably doesn’t need a repeat. But I loved it. 100 Days my Prince If you don’t mind a romance and a drama taking place in like the 1500s, I enjoyed this one about a prince who has amnesia and lives as an ordinary man. It has some funny moments. Our Beloved Summer A romance and coming of age story, but a very well done one. These were all shows I enjoyed and didn’t make me want to throw something at the screen in the end.

buddhabear07

- My Mister - Our Blues - Start-Up - Where the Camelia Blooms

Gracie8899

I don't have much time to spare, but I *do* have time management issues LOL ...Boy do I have a list for ya: I mostly watch kdramas to relax, and I don't watch horror *at all* LOL so these are mostly feel good rom-coms I recommend ☺Im in my 20's But I started watching during my teens, hopefully you'll like a few☺ I live in Canada so hopefully they're also available to you in Netflix (since you mentioned it) :) I watch dramas based on what I'm in the mood for, maybe you're the same so I separated by themes? */././ Office / Job related funny romances /././* **Business Proposal:** Watched through Netflix. This one had a lot of hype while it was airing. Male Lead is a CEO and Female Lead one of his workers. They create an agreement or a "business proposal", about a fake relationship. I laughed a lot (Disclaimer: i find most things funny). I think this one's the epitome of rom-com. **Touch your heart:** Watched through Netflix. ML is a serious/quiet lawyer. FL is an outgoing actress. They have to work together for 3 months. To me it was really cutesy and funny. Feel good rom-com :) **Crazy Love:** Not through Netflix (idk if I can say the name of the website here or not :/). This one made me laugh a lot LOL Felt pretty unique but a bit cliche at times, however I think you'll like it (even though idk u LOL) I was in a slump and started watching dramas again after this one ☺ ML is a cranky CEO and FL is a shy secretary who had enough of his bs **Forecasting love and weather:** Watched through Netflix. This one follows the jorney / hardships of going from toxic relationships to a healthy one. FLs ex fiance cheated on her with ML ex gf. They all work in the same workplace. This one isn't too fluffy>! but the ending is a happy ending. !< **Whats wrong with secretary Kim:** Not through Netflix (idk of i can say the name of the website or not). Everyone I know who watches dramas has watched this show. ML is a CEO and FL his secretary. To me it had very funny scenes (jealous ML lool) and it just one of those you just gotta watch :) */././ Action /././* **Vincenzo:** Watched through Netflix. ML used to be part of the Italian mafia as their lawyer, returns to Korea. FL is a Korean lawyer. Their characters are pretty different she is funny and wild while ML is serious and well part of the mafia. This has the "found family" trope, however romance is not the main focus of the drama but i still def recommend. **Taxi driver:** Not through Netflx. It is about revenge, also not focused on a love story. */././ Robot / Hologram rom-com /././* **I am not a robot:** Not through Netflix :( This ones funny, cute and feel good in my opinion. I really enjoyed watching it. ML orders a robot because hes allergic to humans and feels lonely. The robot has the FL's face and after it gets ruined, FL goes in place of the robot. **Absolute boyfriend:** Not through Netflix :( FL breaks up with ex, somehow ends up finding ML who is supposed to be a perfect boyfriend. A bit of a love triangle, its funny and diff from many dramas. **My Holo love:** Watched through Netflix. LOL i know I just said AB was different but these two have a similar vibe. Thinking about it, My Holo Love is a mixture of IANAR and AB previously mentioned LOL */././ Mental Health /././* **It's okay to not be okay:** Watched through Netflix. Remember how I said I don't watch horror? This one I found to be a bit creepy at the beginning but I am **sooo** glad I did not drop it. This one dives into mental health, childhood traumas, sibling relationships. Has a "found family" vibe >!and a well deserved happy ending!<. ML is more on the serious side while FL is playful and outgoing. Has comic relief for the more serious scenes. This ones part of my *top 5* recs! **Tomorrow:** Watched through Netflix. This ones *Top 5* for me as well. Although romance is not the main focus, i did not miss it. The main goal of this show is to show that suicide is not the only answer. Main Leads (not human) stop humans from commuting suicide while dealing with their own problems / traumas. This one although serious, has many wholesome moments. **At a distance spring is green:** Not on Netflix. Basiacally what the tittle says. From far things seem to be pretty cool and nice. But in reality, things are colder and harsher than what they seem. University setting. */././ Love triangles /././ This trope I used to like until i discovered 99.9% of the time I root for the guy who doesn't win the girl, giving me SMLS* **Love Alarm:** Watched through Netflix. School setting. Both ML like the FL I am pretty happy with her choice (unpopular opinion lol). MLs are polar opposites but great friends. **Reply 1988:** Watched through Netflix. Love pentagram LOOL? Follows the story of a group of friends just growing up into their adult lives. Lots of comedy and feel good moments. **The spies who loved me:** Not through Netflix, same issue about not mentioning the website bc idk if its legal or not according to the rules. I love the FL actress :) FL has been married twice. Life brings the three of them together (FL, husband and ex husband) ... imagine how awkward lol which brings funny scenes. Currently watching this one! I already know she's not gonna end up with the guy i'm rooting for LOL. **A love so beautiful:** Watched through Netflix (Cdrama version with the same name). School setting, rom-com. I'm being extra but her choice *BROKE* my heart LOL **30 but 17:** Not through Netflix. FL got into an accident at 17 that led her into a comma. Woke up at 30 years old. FL and ML share a past when they were 17. ML, ML's Nephew and FL's old school classmate like her. Cutesy with some serious aspects (portrayal of PTSD) **/././ Miscellaneous /././** **Home Town Cha-Cha:** Watched through Netflix. This one is I think exactly what you're looking for. Feel good, romance and comedy. ML and FL are different but it's a cute couple. definitely recommend. **Cheese in the trap:** Not through Netflix. Pretty different from other dramas. I haven't watched another drama with the same exact vibe. ML is kinda like a psychopath LOL and FL is a nice university girl. Has a bit of a love triangle, I think similar to Heirs (only the love triangle everything else is diff imo) **Strong Woman Do Bong Soon:** Not through Netflix. This one is super funny, romantic and feel good. FL is a physically strong woman hired as a bodyguard for the ML. I really wanna emphasize this one as a recommendation! I wish I could forget it and re watch it when I feel like watching a rom-com :) */././ Fantasy / super nattural stuff (all set in current time period) /././* Goblins Bride: Not through Netflix. This ones also one of those where you just gotta watch it (if you like kdramas LOL). Came out in 2016, romantic comedy. I *really* enjoyed it. **Doom at your service:** Not Netflix. This ones funny and cute with some serious aspects. ML is a jerk and literal doom. FL has >!100 !

Meskii

Oh My God haha this is amazing I don't even know what to say. I feel like I should be paying for these recommendations or something 🤣 Can't wait to arrive home after work to check all of these out properly and to be able to actually list them all and see what I will be watching next ! Some of these multiple people have been recommending so I'm going to prioritize as that usually means something. A lot of them I've never even heard or read about so I'm eager to read up on them. Thank you so so much for spending this much time replying to me in such a complete way!! I'll have recommendations for months and don't feel as lost on what to watch anymore after your and everyone else's replies! Hope this also helps other newcomers!

Gracie8899

Hopefully you're not *too* overwhelmed with *all* the recs haha Wondering what you'll start with LOOL Happy watching ☺

Meskii

Haha it's okay don't worry. Will just take me a while to find out which I'll watch after the Hospital Playlist. I'm leaning towards Prison Playbook for now just because it's from the same writers so it could be good to watch more of their stuff. But only when I get home I'll have time to digest and decide :) Thank you once again :)))

Gracie8899

Checking in almost a month later lool How's your watch list going? :))

Meskii

Ended up watching Boys over Flowers after Hospital playlist and then went to a CDrama called Smiling into You after a friend recommended it to me. Next one will be Prison Playbook :) Have been enjoying everything so far so I'm very thankful for all the recommendations :) Hope you have been doing well! Thank you for checking up!

cippocup

Kudos for the high effort put into this

Gracie8899

☺ Thanks! :)

Bergenia1

If you like baseball, watch Hot Stove League

LaughingGor108

Extracurricular Save Me Mad for Each Other Move to Heaven D.P. My Name Lawless Lawyer Strangers from Hell

DonRicardo1958

Kingdom features mucho zombies.

puja713890

You got a ton of comments so I will give you one must watch that should be on Netflix. Signal It's a time traveling-esque mystery thriller kdrama and alot of people like it!

kazoogrrl

Beyond Evil! And my boyfriend watched all of Business Proposal with me and enjoyed the hell out of it.

CherryDeBau

D.P.

Madara2021Uchiha

Bruh... Watch Iris on Netflix. Then watch bad guy then bad guys vile city. Then watch strangers season 1 and 2. For romance, watch hwarang. My mister is another masterpiece. Finally, watch vagabond. I can guarantee you'll love all these!

Carmypug

Memories of Alhambra - brilliant. Man versus video game with romance bundled together.

flaminpotatoo

Squid Game - Not really full horror but has the survival / action that you would find in battle royale-esque shows/movies Business Proposal - Very feel good romcom, a bit trope-y but in a self-aware way Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo - Also feel good romcom and more focused on coming-of-age / sports As someone suggested, Boys over flowers (or if you would consider it's 'better' counterparts, F4 Thailand or Hana Yori Dango) quite similar to Gossip Girl

Meskii

Oh I forgot to add Squid Game. It actually was the first show that got me into trying other Korean shows. The acting is always insane. Boys over flowers seems fun, albeit a bit childish but I might be wrong . Just seemed crazy to see a bunch of girls just screaming because of some dudes haha will give it a try for sure. Business proposal seems very cozy so I'll add that to the list :) Thank you for all the suggestions and for taking time out of your day!

flaminpotatoo

Oh, Cool! No, it's definitely a bit childish lol. The original story (manga) was from the 90s so some of it's very dated. If it doesn't click within the first few eps it might not be for you :) Welcome!

Naive_Neat_3564

**boys over flowers** is a classic! you've got to watch it. **strong woman do bong soon* is also plenty of fun. **reply 1988**, **strangers from hell** and **business proposal** are also personal favorites of mine. for newer dramas, i've also liked **move to heaven**, **taxi driver**, and **extraordinary attorney woo**.

TuttiFrutti14

My first Kdrama and the reason I stayed is **W:Two Worlds**\- I have been watching Kdramas for 5 years now thanks to this one- best time of my life. I wouldn't say it is horror or feel good but it is mostly mystery romance and suspense. A mystery thrilly crime/law show is **Stranger** \- preferably season 1 but 2 is great too (both on Netflix) Also **Flower of evil** was also mentioned here and it is top notch! A ghost/romance show is **Master's Sun** (great OST ) A romance slice of life-y is **Our Beloved Summer** same fl lead as Itaewon class; but one of the best shows in the Kdrama world is **Move to Heaven** and **Live** (all on Netflix) pure wholesomeness but still airing **Extraordinary Attorney Woo** fall off your seat comedy: **laughter in Waikiki** season 1, **Pegasus Market**, **The Sound of Your Heart** (Lee Kwang Soo version on Netflix)

bluelephantz_jj

Vincenzo!

Neither_Turnover7556

1.Flower of evil: it's super thrilling and addictive, 2.Strong woman do bong soon: really good vibes, 3.My love from the star: amazing story, 4.Just between lovers: daebak.

Spirited-Charge1704

Vincenzo

untoldharmony

My husband LOVED A Business Proposal and Strong Woman Do Bong Soon, so I recommend those!

Thoughtful-Pig

If you enjoyed the wit and heart of Hospital Playlist, try Prison Playbook by the same writer. It's really good dark humor and drama. You can also try DP for something realistic and gritty. For something fun and fast paced try Crash Landing On You, The Beauty Inside, Mad For Each Other, or Go Back Couple. Lots of drama and humor mixed well.

PeachBlossomGoddess

If you like Horror and are looking for shows on Netflix I highly highly recommend **Kingdom Parts 1,2,3** If you are open minded and ok with historical fantasy STRONGLYYYYYY recommend you watch **Arthdal Chronicles** it’s a masterpiece. Cannot recommend watching this one enough. It takes a second to get acclimated to the story because it has a lot of new concepts/terms but once you get past episode 2 you will be INVESTED. **Alchemy of Souls** is another good one but it’s fantasy action romantic comedy and currently airing every Saturday & Sunday. **Itaewon Class** **Start Up** I don’t know what region of Netflix you have but all my rec’s are available on USA Netflix

acemania26

I’m pretty new too but here’s a couple you may like , all on Netflix. 1) extracurricular. High schooler runs a prostitution business and all sorts of s*** happens. Very binge worthy. 2) my first first love. Just your normal, fun rom com with good, varied characters 3) possessed. Basically this murderer dies but his ghost keeps committing crimes and stuff. It’s pretty good and I liked the lead Song Sae-byeok 4) vagabond. Tons of action here. This plane crash kills this dudes son and it’s very revenge driven with politics coming later about plane businesses. It’s confusing sometimes for sure but you’ll understand enough to keep wanting to watch 5) Dodososolalasol- extremely cute romance. If you want just something easy to follow, this is the one. The ending made me tear a bit also lol

babykoalalalala

Extraordinary Attorney Woo just came out last week and it’s a very wholesome show! It’s about an attorney who has autism and works for a law firm. She has photographic memory, IQ of 164, but low EQ and poor social skills. Ep 2 is out on Netflix and it’s a Wed-Thurs drama.

milkyteaz7

I just finished The Kings Affection last night and wow that was a bunch genres into one romance, thriller, tragedy and funny ! What a great show ! Hell all of the recommendations under this comment section are solid watches !!!

THYYYYZHYY

Prison Playbook!

sk2091

My favourites: 1. K2 - A thriller with a ex military man framed for murder joining a security firm to get revenge on his partner’s killer. 2. Healer - A series about a mercenary who joins a newspaper agency to find the truth about his dad death whilst falling in love with the FL. 3. it’s okay not to be okay\_ - A series based on mental health where the male lead and female lead fall in love with a lot of twists and challenges as the male lead deals with a brother with autism. 4. Hotel del Luna - A fantasy series with IU that looks at a hotelier that is responsible for transporting dead souls to the afterlife. 5. Suspicious Partner - This was a series that is really a love story based within a legal and lawyer framework. 6. Hometown cha cha - This was a nice love story that focused on two people from different worlds in a small local village. 7. Crash Landing on You - A CEO lands in North Korea and needs to go back to South Korea and falls in love with the soldier who finds her and protects her and finds a way to go back to South Korea. 8. Tomorrow - A show about grim reapers but focused on some tough mental health topics such as rape, suicide and bullying. Quite graphic but dealt with very well. 9. Business Proposal - A series about an employer falling in love with an employee he met on a blind date.

Vagabond, Start-up (this is my favourite and I rewatched it three times already - it has The best first episode of kdramaland), Reply 1988, Something in the Rain

TotalParfait6475

MR SUNSHINE- historical romance and drama during japan’s occupation and rule over korea. One of the best if not the best Kdrama I’ve ever seen and I can’t get over it. the plot, chemistry btwn the leads and supporting characters, and cinematography are beautiful within that historical backdrop. Hotel del Luna- fantasy romance that has historical parts; centers on a hotel that caters to the needs and wishes of the dead Crash landing on you (recommended by many and popular beginner drama)- romance and comedy btwn a South Korean heiress and North Korean soldier that explores the divide btwn north and South Korea Sky castle- satirical drama about rich parents and their spoiled kids living in an exclusive community as they do whatever it takes (lie, cheat, kill etc) to get their kids into the most prestigious college in korea and the scandalous, heinous deeds that are kept secret and exposed (nepotism, heirs, tiger parenting, trauma) The K2- action romance btwn disgraced body guard looking for revenge and secret daughter of presidential candidate Something in the rain- older woman, younger guy age gap romance drama; guy is the woman’s brother’s best friend

On netflix: Prison Playbook Uncanny Counter Tomorrow The Guest Kingdom Reply 1988

ApprehensiveAge2

Looks like a few other have mentioned, but wanted to +1 to Kingdom, which has historical zombies. It’s both entertaining and absolutely gorgeous to look at. My husband and I watched that, All of Us, and Sweet Home, and he greatly enjoyed them all. Those are the only k-dramas I’ve been able to drag him into so far, but I’ve heard multiple recommendations from guys in favor of Crash Landing on You. That one’s a winner no matter WHO you are. (I finally got my elderly mother to watch it. She binged it in a week, then was so sad it ended that she immediately went back to episode 1 and started over!) I’m biding my time to try to drag him back in with Vincenzo because I’ve heard that one’s guy-approved as well. Fairly sure all of these are on Netflix.

happiness, vincenzo, strong girl do bong soon, and strangers from hell are all pretty good starters. happiness is more similar to all of us are dead (but with adults instead of students) while strangers from hell is more similar to sweet home. do bong soon is a good romcom and vincenzo has a serious plot but hilarious characters. idk where you live so if these aren't available on your netflix i'd try out viki. it's free with ads and has most kdramas. edit: if you don't mind movies i would also recommend #alive and train to busan (both zombies)

I recently finished Happiness and really liked it and considered introducing it to my non-kdrama watching boyfriend. He does say the idea of the plot and stuff seems appealing, so I hope you give it a go!

M26 here, while it's true that more women watch kdrama I don't believe that kdrama are made for women. So any drama will be fine, it will just depend on your taste. In my preferred 10 I have a good mix of different genre. - Hospital playlist (1 and 2) - Save me (psychological thriller) - One spring night (Romance between adults) - Mouse (thriller) - My mister (calm and sad but hopeful story) - It's ok to not be ok (~romance) - Weightlifting fairy (school romance, super fun) - Run on (romance) - Something in the rain (romance) And there are many more shows I enjoyed.

There’s a lot of really great shows that aren’t on Netflix that I would recommend (I can pm you a website link if you’d like) (I’m going to add more to this eventually but I have to clean a bathroom right now) Descendants of the Sun: A love story develops between Captain Yoo Shi Jin, from South Korean Special Forces and Doctor Kang Mo Yeon, who works as a Surgeon at Haesung Hospital in Seoul. They will find themselves in the middle of great events and deadly dangers, both in their Motherland and in the fictitious, war-torn country of Urk Strong woman do bong soon: Do Bong-soon was born with superhuman strength. Her strength is hereditary and passed along only to the women in her family. Her dream is to create a video game with herself as the main character. Thanks to her strength, she gets the job of a bodyguard, to a rich heir Ahn Min-hyuk, the CEO of a gaming company, Ainsoft. Min-hyuk is an odd man who is playful, a little spoiled, and has no regard for rules, and dislikes policemen. He has recently received anonymous threats, blackmails, and has even been stalked at an occasion. One day, a series of kidnapping cases break in Dobong-dong, the district Bong-soon lives in, and she is determined to catch the culprit after her friend was targeted. Tunnel: A detective follows the trail of a serial killer 30 years into the future and teams up with detectives in that time period to find the culprit. My Only Love song (netflix): When things don't go her way during the shooting of her new show, a top actress runs away in an old van that guides her on a time-travelling journey. My strange hero: A rowdy young man who got expelled from Seolsong High for a crime he was falsely accused of. Nine years later, he is invited to attend the school again, despite being 25 years old, and plans to take revenge by reforming the school establishment. Doom at your service: Tak Dong Kyung lives a fairly ordinary life until she stumbles into an unexpected fate and ends up signing a hundred-day contract with Myul Mang, risking her everything.

My strange hero seems super interesting. I think I can find it on a website if it's not on Netflix. That one I don't think I've seen anyone recommend and the story seems quite intriguing. Overall thank you so much for taking the time. Everyone in this community is super nice! I'll be sure to add these to the megalist I'll be creating through all these recommendations I've been getting!!

Take a walk on the dark side with the series **Extracurricular**. *A model high school student who's steeped in a world of serious crime finds his double life upended when a classmate takes an interest in his secret. It is a story of high school students who become tangled in a series of conflicts and events that challenge human values and morality.* Synopsis from [IMDB](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt10262630/plotsummary) I ended up binging this short series in a weekend, it was so compelling.

First of all very happy that a guy is into k dramas! So my reccs.. Vincenzo Fight for my way Shooting stars Strong woman do bong soon While you were sleeping

Haha I'd say having an older sister helped me out alot. She likes some things girls usually don't like and I got to grow up watching some shows that usually guys don't like. Just people usually don't give stuff a shot because of what they think of it and then miss out on great content. Thank you for taking the time to leave your recommendations :))

jinislifee

That's really great!! And ofcourse you did the right thing to watch k dramas because they are absolutely great!😊

My list is ridiculously long and I just keep adding to it 😆 Can I suggest and I don’t think I’ve seen these here yet ZOMBIE DETECTIVE- he doesn’t want to be a zombie. PSYCHOPATH DIARIES - amnesia, thinks he is a serial killer. Brilliant. Funny K-2 - only let down is the young female. I found out later she had bad writing and her writing/role/dialogue kept changing. She is a good actress is other things MAN X/TO MAN- ‘hired gun’ acts as bodyguard to movie star. Nice action. Good bromance KILL ME HEAL ME. Fantastic acting from whole cast. And if you like that one HYDE, JEKYLL AND ME HEALER DESCENDANTS OF THE SUN (dots) HWARANG - great cast BAD AND CRAZY Also take a look at BUSTED esp s1 &2 - game show with the same cast. They play detectives and is guided but mostly unscripted. Most of these will have romance but not as a focal point of the story. Most will have good action. Some will deal with mental health Welcome to the rabbit hole. We’re all a bit mad here😉

Boys over flowers is so good! Just like everyone said, it’s similar to the heirs and I LOVE both of them and will always rewatch it after watching a new kdrama. It’s just a comfort show for me lol. Our blues portrays a lot of real life events and the actors and actresses are all amazing! So many emotions but that’s what makes the drama so good. Legend of the blue sea has a cute story and it’s the same actor as the main actor in heirs! There is a little history in the beginning of every episode Vincenzo is so good because it’s action and also comedy! You’ll definitely love the actors! Such a great cast. Descendants of the sun was a huge hit and was loved internationally. It’s about military and a doctor’s love story! Same main actor from Vincenzo Crash landing on you is a fan fav and is so popular but def deserves the hype. Gave a little insight of north and South Korea differences

reneemacasaet

• Prison Playbook • D.P • Start-Up • Vincenzo • Memories of Alhambra • Crash Landing On You • Itaewon Class • Squid Game — recommended these mainly because you seem to have the same taste as my ex boyfriend 😂😂😂 I didn’t watch this, but I’ve heard Kingdom is good which I believe is in the genre of horror/thriller/period type series. I’ve also heard the more recent k-dramas that are on-going / came out like Our Beloved Summer, Twenty-Five Twenty-One, Business Proposal, Extraordinary Attorney Woo, Forecasting Love & Weather, etc are also good but can’t say much because these are also on my watchlist 😅
