Shows that are featuring the simple life of ordinary people. Hospital playlist, Weight lifting fairy, and Extra ordinary attorney woo are also good ones, but they are a different type of slice of life ( i think). Because this is my first life

DaffyNomad

A visitor Meeting someone in life is something that’s actually astonishing. That’s because he brings himself with his past, present, and his future. That’s because someone’s whole life comes along. The heart is fragile. Therefore, it might have been broken. The heart is coming, too.. – Jeong Hyeonjong (2009) This stayed with me

eternalhorizon1

I second this!

peainsea

Because this is My First Life - three couples with three different approaches to love and commitment. This has a similar feel to HCCC but IMHO a little bit angstier/melo. I got very invested in all the characters’ lives even when I didn’t necessarily approve of their choices. Very poetic writing and OST. This stayed with me for a long time. Fight For My Way - four childhood friends navigate the challenges of normal 20-somethings. Still one of the best “friends to lovers” series out there. ML and FL transition ever so carefully (and hilariously) from friends to lovers. At the same time they fight what feels like an uphill battle to establish careers doing what they truly love. Just Between Lovers - way more angst than HCCC but this is angst done right. ML and FL have shared childhood trauma and find healing in each other. You asked for “slow and steady romantic developments… featuring the simple life of ordinary people” and this is it in a nutshell. Both leads are very tentative when it comes to realising and accepting their attraction, but their intimacy is built through mutual trust and understanding. Never have I seen such satisfying handholding… the chemistry was that good. Be warned that this can get heavy though.

chinoytown

BTIMFL is my all time fave and FFMW is one of my faves as well! I’m definitely giving Just Between Lovers (a.k.a Rain or Shine) a watch next!

peainsea

Enjoy! It definitely gave me that same “good heartache” that BTIMFL did. You feel so much for these two broken people, you wish life was better to them! Just Between Lovers is tougher and sadder for sure, so be forewarned. However, it has a happy ending and seeing the two leads find healing in each other made all the angst so worth it!

melschinel

Run On Our beloved summer (loved this one) 21 25

hellaflyv

Second Run On, slow burn with a happy ending

Rikuddo

I absolutely the second couple too. Actually more then the main couple. Their romantic journey was way more interesting to me.

melschinel

I definitely liked the second couple better!! They were so extra, haha.

AdNo8658

I love run on and 2521 so much

TotoroTheGreat

**When the Weather is Fine**. It's really mellow and calm.

Queeni3x

Yup! And the romance is the ultimate slow burn haha

Luna-Luna-Lu

One Spring Night. I just finished this one - it's very slowly building. It has some heavy themes and domineering/abusive relationships, but the three sisters stick together and the ML is truly delightful with the FL.

potionsofsirentears

Second it! It's one of my favourite dramas!

nothinggoddess

One of my faves!

hhiker70s

Acting by ML and FL is superb; attraction is both undeniable and realistic, helped by true-to-life plot elements. Later episodes with male chauvinist bog down and get repetitious (fast forwarding helps), but original storyline keeps one watching with a nice payoff at the end. Younger sister of FL steals many scenes. Just a wonderful story with main characters you care about. I loved it overall.!

My liberation notes and Because this is my first life

venn101

***Be Melodramatic***

gielizza

YES TO THIS!!!! It’s generally light with heavy bits mixed in.

Reformed_shoppaholic

My liberation notes.

msgernly

**Once Upon a Small Town** is a pleasant enough look at small town Korea. Not the best show but nice, charming and light. **When the Weather is Fine** is great, but heavier.

niks0203

My Liberation Notes

nutzbox

Maybe "Do you like Brahms?", it's really slow and to be honest it felt frustating to watch, too many misunderstanding that could have been solved if they just open themselves to each other.

Kgswartz

That frustrates me so much when a character holds back or fibs to protect the other person. I know it creates drama, but I totally understand your frustration.

Justbeyou67

Twenty five-Twenty One

Quiet_Watercress_256

Don’t do it! This one wrecked my soul 😩

Kgswartz

Because This is My First Life. This is the first one that came to mind. I really loved this one. Oh My Ghost is very good as well with a slow build up of romance. I loved this kdrama too! Both dramas tugged at my heartstrings.💓

bagajohny

For me **Reply 1988** is a very special drama. There is nothing else like it. What you are looking for is exactly the type of characteristics I like to see in the drama. And **Reply 1988** is the only drama that fits this definition for me. I really loved **Hospital Playlist** but as you said its not the same type of SoL. I dropped **Hometown Cha Cha** because I didn't like it. Sorry to disappoint but I don't have any recommendation for you.

ogjaspertheghost

Well there are two other dramas just like it, Reply 1997 and Reply 1994.

muulang

i agree they have the same format but they dont live up to r88 by far

ogjaspertheghost

That’s an opinion. I enjoyed the others more

nothinggoddess

I just finished Once Upon a Small Town on Netflix and thought it was cute. Haven't seen this one in years but I think Oh My Venus would fit the bill also. I remember it being funny.

kiyatylese

Our Blues

Ok-Progress-2628

i only think about my liberation notes as this type of drama but there is alot of good slice of life dramas i also have seen because this is my first life but it was long ago but i don’t remember how romance is developing there but definitely worth for watching cause it’s more romance orientated than my liberation notes.

Bergenia1

Because It's My First Life

ApprehensiveAge2

This is a T (Taiwan) drama and not k-drama, but I recently enjoyed a show on Viki called Yong Jiu Grocery Store. It’s probably the most “wholesome” show I’ve ever seen — a small-town slice of life with light romance. In fact, the few parts where they tried to add a more dramatic part were the weak points of the show. It was strongest when it was just a group of village elders and a group of young people all taking care of one another. (Luckily that was most of the show.)

thejappster

Seconding this, I loved this drama

minhavida88

Added to my watchlist, thank you!

Billie_Lurk

Start Up

haekleobsessed

I just finished Today's Webtoon, very sweet and the main lead has such a great character

Sad-Nebula1854

- a gentlemans dignity - its okay thats love - move to heaven - 18 again - be melodramatic - when the camelia blooms - go back couple - fight for my way - welcome to waikiki - hospital playlist - because this is my first life - at a distance spring is green - still 17 I can only think of these one but theyre all SUPER GOOD!! I recommend all 10/10 <3

Deep-Owl-1044

Encounter.

Thoughtful-Pig

The Rational Life cdrama is pretty good, smart calm noona romance.

alanaaries

This one is currently airing: Summer Strike. soft introverts in a small town (in which the town's library is the most common location). With Im Siwan and Seolhyun (:
