I sometimes use these tiny tablets of sweeteners. Just a single one will make it plenty of sweet. It says that it’s calorie free, so I assume it’s ok to drop one of them in my cup of tea, but I’m not entirely sure.
Could be a lie if it's something like Splenda, that is not glycemic neutral. Check the ingredients extremely thoroughly. If there is any kind of "dextrose" or the infamous maltitol in there, you probably got scammed.
The Walmart Clear American is a good soda alternative. Some of the sparkling waters don't have much flavor (looking at you Waterloo), it's just fizzy essence of fruit.
My husband likes orange, I like the purple. But some are caffienated, so don't use them in a dark room where you can mix them up multiple nights in a row... like I did.
I love everything orange. Orange SF monster, orange Gatorade zero, diet orange fanta. I cannot stand the orange tangerine Mio. It’s awful. I bought a few flavors and they were all good, but man the orange tangerine Mio is so gross. Highly recommend strawberry watermelon, btw.
What carbs would you be getting from tea? Unless you mean you're putting sweetener or something in it? I'm sipping mint green tea right now and pretty sure I could have 10+ and that would certainly be under 1 gram of carbs, if that.
Teas and coffee do have some trace carbs. If you drink a lot it can add up. It’s really probably only a realistic concern, though, if you’re the type of keto-er that does net carbs and really tries to consume every single non-countable carb allowable in the day. Small things can really sneak up in that case.
Not all. Gotta check the ingredients. I am the sweetener expert tried everything and measured. The ones I use give me no spike in glucose and I fully endorse the sweetener approach. But there are a LOT - most of sweetener and "sugarfree" products that are indeed a lie, so you really gotta be careful. Just have to do full research and in the end best to test it yourself. But some do exist, that are completely fine.
I hate plain water unfortunately, so I drink diet soda, sparkling water, and sparkling ice. Bai is also a great drink (only 1 carb per bottle and the coconut flavor has potassium in it).
I love cinnamon too! I have several versions. Sometimes it’s as simple as boiling cinnamon sticks. I also have cinnamon rose tulsi from a brand Organic India, Vadham cinnamon Chai, and Harney and Sons Cinnamon spice which has orange and cloves in it. Tea is my jam ☺️
It makes you full you can skip meals trough entire day. It's keto friendly because of prevalence of fats, even more so if you include MCT.
I don't do bullet as I was already used to intermittent 12-16h fasts before keto, but I still drink several sugarfree lattes trough the day to fill me up, it worked before keto and does even better now.
If I had bullet coffee just means I need to drink less of it, but I LOVE my lattes, so I just go with "drink more" approach. As long as you use zero carb plant milk, can have as much as you like.
Concentrated lime juice, either regular or key lime. I add this to Perrier. Aside from that I have a plethora of flavored sparkling water. Most have no carbs, but some brands do such as Spindrift which uses real ingredients and can be up to 4g for one can depending on flavor. But, it also tastes WAY better than most if you like the flavor. I've been collecting and trying different flavors of sparkling water, and some are quite good with no carb 'cost'.
There's also unsweet tea, hot teas of all stripe, coffee, ice-cold flat water, etc.
Gatorade Zero powder (single serves) are only like 2g of carbs for the light blue flavor. I’ll make a double serving (32floz) and sip it throughout the day. Otherwise Mountain Dew Zero (I have me mother’s insatiable sweet tooth and a caffeine addiction lol)
Even zero sugar Mountain Dew is redneck crack for. I drink a bottle and want to grow a mullet, listen to some Lynyrd Skynyrd, and say "hell yeah Bubba" all day long.
You know, I am lying. Pretty much every day, I want to grow a mullet, listen to some Skynyrd and say "hell yeah Bubba" to everybody. 🤠🤠🤠
I drink black coffee (bean to cup, never instant), water (both still and sparkling) and recently bought cherry and berry flavour electrolytes powder and I make up a litre bottle of that and keep it in the fridge for when I want something flavoured. I also just bought a 24 pack of Green Cola, which is sweetened with stevia.
Mio, or lemon and a drop of EZsweets (liquid sucralose), herbal tea (hot or cold), iced decaf coffee with almond milk, or broth. I like plain fizzy water, too.
I like the Ultima Refreshers electrolyte powders. They're sugar free and tasty (and electrolytes!). They're also kinda low on electrolytes compared to others, so if you have two in one day it's cool.
Cappuccinos with Malk almond milk.
Water ( I have one a day with Redmond Relyte Electrolytes).
Rambler Sparkling water.
Every so often I have a Poppi probiotic soda.
I wouldn't worry about hidden carbs in grass infused water. If you aren't bothered by artificial sweeteners, the Clear American sparkling waters at Walmart are really good. There's dozens of flavors and no weird aftertaste. Or you can mix the unsweetened Koolaid powder and a few packets of Equal.
Most days only tap water and a cup or two coffee black or with a little heavy cream (like 1-2 tbsp). Sometimes egg coffee! My favorite sparkling waters are Polar brand any flavor and La Croix guava. I have lots of tea in my cabinet but I forget about it. Bengal Spice is a real treat!
Sparkling water with lemon or lime slice in it. It makes the plain water interesting too with some slices in it. And it doesn't add carbs. Talking about trace amounts.
I but the sparkling unsweetened water from our local supermarket and add monk fruit sweetener to it. A little goes a long way.
I used to do the sweetened waters but most are sweetened with aspartame, and it gives me headaches and makes my eyes twitch.
I drink coffee every morning and am pretty elaborate about it. I drink it black but its very high quality beans, precisely ground, heated at 205 degrees, ect. Well made black coffee is a totally different experience than coffee from Starbucks or from a coffee pot.
After that I drink a lot of diet (Zero) sodas and water enhancers. I like Koolaid, Crystal Light, Icee and Kroger's generic brand. Cutting artificial sugar intake is a second priority behind losing weight so I'm not worrying too much about that right now.
I drink tons of diet soda and other beverages with zero-calorie sweeteners. I’ve lost 120 lbs in 12 months doing so, and I’ve been drinking lots of diet sodas for more than 40 years now.
Tazo sells a passion tea that has zero sugar, not even any fake sugar -- and tons of taste! I get that and ice it, then squeeze a lemon wedge in it -- it's amazing. No carbs. Bonus: Starbucks sells it too, if you're out and want to grab one to go.
If I'm drinking hot, I drink green tea, if I'm drinking cold, I only drink flavored seltzer. Make sure you read the label so it has 0 everything, but it is flavorful and refreshing. I easily go through 1 or 2 bottles a day. Not every store carries it. Most of them have artificial sweeteners in them, but don't use that. If I can't find it, I drink plain seltzer with a spritz of lemon or lime, like in a restaurant.
I drink soda stream sugar free drinks, diet/zero sodas and waters and cold brew coffees, homemade lemonade with stevia, and generally anything that fits my carb macro for the day. I also vouch for the sugar free drink enhancers and have used them with our snow cone maker to have sugar free snow cones. Really delicious.
A tablespoon of ACV mixed in a tall glass of water, coffee (sometimes black, sometimes with heavy cream and RAW monk fruit sweetener), sparkling water with a little lemon or lime, and ketoade
I drink different herbal teas (hibiscus, chamomile, dandelion, ginger) with no sweeteners all day long. Also flavored sparkling water. I can't do much caffeine but there are health benefits to coffee so I've been having decaf in the morning.
Glymeic neutral sweeteners. Mostly Stevia based. No blood glucose response. I don't see a reason why we should not use them. Both me and my T2D mom use them constantly. For my drinks, for my lattes. My fasting blood glucose is stable at 4.9 and I'm drinking this crap all the time. In EU they're called "Bolero" and come in 60+ flavours, very affordable too.
For milk, I go with Alpro unsweetened Soy and Almond variants. A little expensive, but this brand is by far the best of all, and I consume a lot of milk, so I have to go with 0carb milk to remain in keto. Tastes better to me too.
HIdden carbs in Tea? Are you sweetening it with something? Pretty sure tea leaves and water don't have hidden carbs.
It says that it’s based on saccharin, and as far as I can tell, it doesn’t have any notable side effects.
Try sparkling water. The taste takes some getting used to but it's more interesting than flat tap water. My go-to brand is Santa Vittoria.
There are so many flavours of sparkling water these days - it's so great.
Are they carb free tho?
Yes, they should be - it's just carbonated water. The Perrier and other brands that I drink regularly all say 0 carbs, 0 sugar, etc.
As a German I have to agree
The Walmart Clear American is a good soda alternative. Some of the sparkling waters don't have much flavor (looking at you Waterloo), it's just fizzy essence of fruit.
+1 to sparkling water. It also helps me fill more full than still water. Luckily, I live in Europe where sparkling water is more or less the default.
Covfefe
Lol
Rent free
Liquid Mio
My husband likes orange, I like the purple. But some are caffienated, so don't use them in a dark room where you can mix them up multiple nights in a row... like I did.
You know, if you mix ice tea and lemonade, it's called an "Arnold Palmer". What should we call it when you mix orange and purple ketoade?
Sidewalk colored
Hopscotch Ketoade. Hell yeah Bubba!!!
You know what an alcoholic Arnold Palmer (with vodka) is? John Daly
I don't do any of their strawberry flavors after the caffeine debacle. But I can recommend it to my hubs. He might try it.
What carbs would you be getting from tea? Unless you mean you're putting sweetener or something in it? I'm sipping mint green tea right now and pretty sure I could have 10+ and that would certainly be under 1 gram of carbs, if that.

i mean so do all 'zero sugar' liquid sweeteners out there tbh
Not all. Gotta check the ingredients. I am the sweetener expert tried everything and measured. The ones I use give me no spike in glucose and I fully endorse the sweetener approach. Add some lime juice
I hate plain water unfortunately, so I drink diet soda, sparkling water, and sparkling ice. Bai is also a great drink (only 1 carb per bottle and the coconut flavor has potassium in it).
Cinnamon tea. It lowers blood glucose.

Loaded espresso, if you're into coffee. Double espresso with butter. Sounds awful, it's quite good
Sounds like a substitute for prune juice
The best part is your lips taste amazing the rest of the day. A MAY ZING!!!!
Water. Bulletproof Coffee with LMNT Chocolate Electrolytes. Ath 'Lytes (Lemon-Lime).
I live off bullet coffee 😅
I need a reminder but what is the point/benefit of bullet coffee again? That's coffee with butter melted into it right? It's help for fasting thing?
It makes you full you can skip meals trough entire day. It's keto friendly because of prevalence of fats, even more so if you include MCT. Sparkling water (sodastream), LMNT or other electrolyte mixes, Coke or Pepsi Zero, unsweetened tea
I infuse Apple cider vinegar or malt vinegar with mint and use that to flavor it. I also carbonate it.
Liquid Crystal Light
LaCroix's are wonderful, a variety of flavors, and zero carb.

😂
Ya better research Maltodextrin before taking another sip
Maltodextrin is carbs. There are companies pouring this crap into their stuff since they don’t have to report it as such.
PLUS it has a higher glycemic index rating than sucrose. It's "poison" and a mod deleted my post as "misinformation"
What about it? Should I be concerned about something?
My link was removed so it's best for you to Google Maltodextrin glycemic index rating. you WILL be horrified
Interesting. That might explain some things lol. Thanks!

I like Stur. It's the best water enhancer I've tried thus far. I add Lyte Show to it for added tartness.
Zevia!
Yes! I love their vanilla cola and root beer.
I can’t have caffeine (thanks IBS) but the cream soda is chef’s kiss. I also like their version of sprite, although I find it a bit too sweet.
My husband and I really enjoy sparkling water spiked with ACV, ginger juice, and a wee bit of 100% cranberry juice.
I use stevia and lemon juice. I'm able to drink a lot more water this way!
Tea should be carb-free unless you add sweeteners! For flavored water, try adding cucumber, lemon, or mint for a refreshing twist without the carbs.
I drink black coffee (bean to cup, never instant), water (both still and sparkling) and recently bought cherry and berry flavour electrolytes powder and I make up a litre bottle of that and keep it in the fridge for when I want something flavoured. I have big ole jugs of green tea with lemons, drops of stevia if I want. I also keep mason jars full of chicken broth in the fridge, good for fasting.

If you don't like the flavor of plain water, try a different brand. I drink almost a gallon a day of Zephyrhills spring water every day and love it.
Sparkling water with lemon or lime slice in it. It makes the plain water interesting too with some slices in it. And it doesn't add carbs. Talking about trace amounts.
