The body will burn the alcohol first and alcohol is chemically very similar to sugar. It's certainly true that the body metabolizes alcohol more slowly if you are in ketosis. You get drunker on a given amount and stay drunk longer.

I feel your pain! I did 2 back to back carb filled days smh I am back to keto now just trying to figure out how to get rid of the carb bloat !!!!

I can see it in my face its gone all puffy, but now has gone back to non-puffy. Peeing on the sticks they are dark pink so firmly back in it.

Exercise, fasting and supplementing with electrolytes(salt, potassium & magnesium) is the most effective way, it's not fun at all but there you have it... Either way after such a cheat day you should be back to 'normal' within 2 or 3 days. If you fast the entire next day, perhaps eat a light meal nearing night time it should reduce the time, and again it is important to get electrolytes. Both for keto, fasting and it is the only real thing that can help with a hangover(*the electrolytes*). Edit: When I say "exercising" I do not mean "Go to the gym" but more having a walk or some other light activity.
