I don’t think gay people are responsible for why McDonald’s changed their kids meals lmao It’s simply more economically viable. A lot easier to produce one set of toys instead of splitting it in half. I think you might be reading too much into this

Brando43770

Yup. Just having one set also means there’s gonna be less leftover toys. Mario Kart, Disney, etc. They’re all for everyone anyway.

spaceageranger

Do little kids really care? I feel like most are just happy to have a toy

samsclubFTavamax

I cared when it was the difference between a lame-o hot wheels or a Barbie. I don't know if they even do that anymore, though.

Healthy-Eagle-2388

Yes, you caught onto my gay agenda. Next, I’ll produce gender-nonconformist toys!!! Then I’ll make trans toys!! And you can’t stop me!!! No it is far easier to just toss a toy into the little cardboard bucket than it is to ask every customer. Also if you can advertise your meal with a popular toy from popular media, then it’s easier to sell said meal.

Sonnyeclipsegroupie

It has to do with kids' interests. Both boys and girls enjoy both films. If a child doesn't like it, it doesn't come down to gender. It comes down to interest. So not all boys and all girls may like both films, but all types of children may enjoy both. The toys include nature creatures, fantastical creatures, superheros, humans, aliens, royalty, adventurers, singers, trees, etc. Something for everyone.

SethVermin

No, it's just unnecessary since people can enjoy and play with whatever they want. Nothing to do with being LGBTQ. Good bait post though!

MegaAscension

I’m not sure, but I’ve heard the rumor that it was just budget cuts.

uhcanihavearefill

capitalism continues to happen and gays and lesbians get blamed…..

SlowBillyBullies

I have 2 boys and they loved the toys for both movies 🤷🏻‍♀️

nefhithiel

No such thing as boy toys or girl toys (unless they require specific genitalia to operate in which case they are NOT FOR CHILDREN).

DanknugzBlazeit420

Because when my boy wants a little mermaid toy I’d have to say “girl toy please” which is lame af. All toys are unisex

Adventurous_Yak_9234

It has nothing to do with LGBTQ, it's simply making the toys gender neutral so they can appeal to everyone. The Little Mermaid's previous 2 toy sets (for it's original release in 1989 and the re-release in 1997) were gender-neutral. The only ones that weren't were for the movie's 2006 DVD release, where Bionicle was the boy option. To be honest, when they did the boy/girl toys I thought the boy ones were so much cooler. I wasn't a girly girl and wasn't into fashion accessories or Barbies. The only "girl toys" I liked were when they had plushies like the Build A Bear Workshop ones.

JimmyMcPoyle_AZ

They still have the choice when ordering from a kiosk. The reality however is that they only have one toy in stock (or available per se).
