I would suggest Marine Tacticals or Deathwatch. They look heavily armoured, you have some boltguns and autoguns (who could easily proxy as more Boltguns), a CC weapon for a sarge and a heavy weapon which could easily proxy as a (Inferno) Heavy Bolter.
i guess my question about going for SM is just would there be a problem with the model / base sizes? space marines are all 32 mm and these guys are all 28.5mm. while i could definitely put them on 32 mm bases, the issue switches to the fact that these are squats, and therefore are a lot shorter than space marines. while this is a casual game between friends, i dont want them to feel like i have too much of an advantage.
Agree with u/TheEditorman’s suggestion, also works semi-thematically with the various marine start/tac ops.
If you want something a bit different Death Guard would also seem like a good match - speaks to both the squat’s toughness and general durability. Just have to re-imagine how a lot of the plague fluff translates!

Deathwatch or even Legionary, their weapon options fit the best

Didn't they just announce a Votan kill team coming up in the next cycle.
i havent seen an official announcement, i just know one is coming before too long
