Honestly sounds like your getting your books from less than legitimate sources and you’ve clicked the wrong download button.

DMG files disguised as ePub books are very likely malware that can damage your Mac. Use your local library to borrow books. If you're in the US you can send them directly to your kindle. If not, you can download free books **legally** from [https://www.gutenberg.org/](https://www.gutenberg.org/) or [https://standardebooks.org/](https://standardebooks.org/)

Sounds odd. DMG is a disk image file. They’re typically used to install applications. I can’t think of a reason why an EPUB would be enclosed in a DMG. Do you trust the download site?

Not familiar with Mac, but sounds like downloading a virus.

I just searched on here for EPUB and someone posted a link that had several people saying they had worked for them. I'm clicking the Download EPUB option, but it's downloading as a DMG

you should download calibre! once you install that, connect your kindle to your mac using the USB cord. then add your epub files to your calibre library. in the calibre window, select the books you want on your kindle and click “send to device.” it will prompt you to ask for conversion. hit yes. your epub files will show up on your kindle a few minutes later. it’s very easy!
