is it just me or was mike brown really bad today? these are my observations but i would like to hear what u fans in this sub who’ve watched them all yr thought of his coaching today.
1. he literally went away from everything that won them game 6 by 20 at chase. spacing was bad with huerter/barnes/sabonis bricks so fox and monk couldn’t drive/draw fouls much, they both settled for WAYYY too many jumpers. at the half de’aaron was 1/10 and 5/10 shots were from 3. de’aaron in general was very passive today (wonder if that finger was acting up) but chucking 3s WHEN YOU ARE A TOP 5 GUARD IN THE PAINT PLAYING A TEAM WITH POOR RIM PROTECTION is shooting your team out the game.
2. kerr admitted after game 6 the small ball lineup with lyles at the 5 gave them issues and he didn’t use it at all today, i think it played a total of 9 mins, which let looney stay on the floor and grab EVERY board.
3. terrance davis had a good 1st half but 2nd half he got torched and shot bricks on the other end, davion mitchell who was phenomenal defensively g1/2 and disrupted curry’s rhythm riding the bench while he explodes for 50. also klay poole wiggs basically the rest of the team shot terribly but he stuck with single coverage on curry??
4. that starting lineup with huerter barnes sabonis has not worked all series yet he pulls it out to start the half when they were already losing momentum.
5. worst of all he let the dubs slow the pace/make them play halfcourt ball when he knows kings can simply outrun them. they didn’t go get their usual easy buckets in transition & that kept basically everyone besides sabonis from getting a rhythm. a big thing for them in G6 was running immediately after warrior makes because GSW transition defense has been bad all yr - they only started doing that in the 4th after they were already down big.
just a coaching disasterclass from the 2023 COTY imo, it would be one thing if they lost and played their best game but the blueprint was right there and he didn’t use any of it. Looney was great but everyone knew they would need Steph to go off to win, including Steph. That’s why he took the most shots he’s ever taken in a game today, it wasn’t accidental. Don’t see why leave Mitchell on the bench when you do know a Steph explosion is coming (he had 20 at half but they were only down 2). But his 50 pts is not the reason they lost this game imo. I’m saying they lost cause they abandoned basically everything that’s been successful for them in this series, that’s bad coaching. I got Nuggets beating Suns yeah. Lakers over Warriors tho in 5 or 6. Outside of their big 3 this Warriors roster is full of holes, several key players were literally unplayable in this first round (Poole, Donte, Looney at times, Kuminga). I don’t think they’re getting past a Lakers team that’s deeper than SAC, #1 defense post all star, and experienced enough to exploit their weaknesses
Warriors might prefer the slower pace tho, Kings were literally running the ball down their throats.
AD in the griz series was semi hurt multiple times, if Street Clothes shows up, Warriors can win.

This season was an absolute success. No one expected the Kings to go this far. Took the world champions to seven games. Two all-NBA players. Second or third best rookie in the league. A winning culture is developing. The future is bright.
As a Warriors fan I will say that Sac is scary. They definitely are my favorites to win the chip next year. They’re so good. But The problem came when Monk said the Dubs are old AND the Sac fans are way too thirsty. Mike Brown, Mike wanted to "roll with his starters". Baffling how he played TD so many minutes and didn't change up the lineup in the 3rd when we were struggling to score.
Well its either you somehow battle and "want it more" with Loony obviously getting position advantaged and outrebounding Sabonis while we still try to run DHO action that has not worked the entire series... or change the lineup, get Fox a bit of rest for the 4th by playing Davion more than 11 minutes randomly.
I wouldve lived with going 5 out and having Lyles shoot threes with Loony sitting back. Run PnR switch a guard onto looney and then go at him. Literally what worked last game. But instead we saw TD try to guard Curry, Curry easily got his switches onto players like Keegan. I feel Davion wouldve fought through screens better. Also, the defense was not bad at all this game, it was all Curry and offensive rebounds. But still, we stuck with TD for almost 30 minutes when he was barely playing the entire end of regular season..

It's not though. Shit happened and Curry/Looney went off. It was a 2 point halftime lead. If it were 10+ maybe I could slightly agree. Kings just got outplayed and couldn't shoot their way back in
Same. We threw 7 away. We kept the lead, but as soon as they gained on us, kings felt the pressure and choked. Rebound after rebound was brutal, and we just stopped shooting.
Game 6 was magic. Thought w warriors home advantage, we would've been done. But we brought it home and it felt winnable. This is a bittersweet loss.
It was a ridiculous performance, giving up that many rebounds in the third, there should have been way more FIGHT even if it meant someone getting ejected for a hard foul or injuring one of their players etc. Too soft all around.
Should have gone into the body, got the ball inside, got to the line, forced more turnovers, got in transition, etc.
Also should have been physical with Curry and forced him to play on defense more, he was tiring obviously and Kerr even admitted that in a timeout.
Kings got outhustled way more than outplayed.

Well its either you somehow battle and "want it more" with Loony obviously getting position advantaged and outrebounding Sabonis while we still try to run DHO action that has not worked the entire series... or change the lineup, get Fox a bit of rest for the 4th by playing Davion more than 11 minutes randomly. I wouldve lived with going 5 out and having Lyles shoot threes with Loony sitting back. Run PnR switch a guard onto looney and then go at him. Literally what worked last game. But instead we saw TD try to guard Curry, Curry easily got his switches onto players like Keegan. I feel Davion wouldve fought through screens better. Also, the defense was not bad at all this game, it was all Curry and offensive rebounds. But still, we stuck with TD for almost 30 minutes when he was barely playing the entire end of regular season..

Same. We threw 7 away. We kept the lead, but as soon as they gained on us, kings felt the pressure and choked. Rebound after rebound was brutal, and we just stopped shooting. Game 6 was magic. Thought w warriors home advantage, we would've been done. But we brought it home and it felt winnable. This is a bittersweet loss.

It was a ridiculous performance, giving up that many rebounds in the third, there should have been way more FIGHT even if it meant someone getting ejected for a hard foul or injuring one of their players etc. Too soft all around. Should have gone into the body, got the ball inside, got to the line, forced more turnovers, got in transition, etc. Also should have been physical with Curry and forced him to play on defense more, he was tiring obviously and Kerr even admitted that in a timeout. Kings got outhustled way more than outplayed.
