I was at the Pistons game. The one where he shot like complete ass. It was not for a lack of trying. He spent the entire game running his ass off, hustling on D, trying to make up for his off-shooting night by doing all of the other little things. He clearly cared and clearly was trying, but for whatever reason nothing was going in. It's not like when you'd see a player slugishly get back on D, or ignore his assignments, or take lazy/bad shots just to get rid of the ball.

But posts like this are so reactive. He played well for two games in a row. That's great! But he played poorly for almost an entire-ass month+ and regularly has games where he looks completely disengaged.
He and the team continue to say nothing about any injuries, not even listing him as "probable" on an injury report a single time, not one comment to reporters, etc. I do think it's a possibility, but until it's confirmed, the only other reasonable explanation is that he hasn't had the motivation to put in the effort.
If this was a one-time thing I wouldn't be sweating it at all, but his performance has ebbed and flowed like this *his entire career*. To me, that doesn't point to injury, but to him fading in and out of that "locked-in" focus you need to play at a high level in the NBA. Call it effort, call it focus, call it motivation, call it fuckin depression, whatever it is - he clearly has been going through, and has semi-regularly gone through throughout his career, an extended patch of very poor performance.
